    "If it is free, then it is shareware files and they are not safe.." Bull ! Just because something is free or shareware does NOT mean it is malware infected. Sure, there are lots of infected 'warez' on the internet, but there are infected 'sites' too... whatever you download, scan *first* before installation/use. Even better, use Web of Trust (WOT) to help stay clear of suspicious sites, or Sandboxie to stay safer while surfing or installing... But I find your blanket statement totally off the mark, as MANY free and shareware files are legitimate, safe alternatives.

    I would consider it, but never having ridden a GoldWing before, I would be trading a known good quantity for an unknown. Based on what I've heard from other GW riders, there are some things I'd like, and others I would not. I'm very happy with the power and comfort of my 2004 RSV, but I think I'd like the ABS and reverse of the GW, as well as the extra charging system output.

    There are idiots everywhere ... I have a friend that had back surgery, the doctors told her she might not walk unassisted again, and that riding was out of the question. Well, this young lady normally kicks ass on any challenge presented her, and this was no exception. So yes, she is walking unassisted, *and* riding her Venture, which has the handicap tag. A number of us from GA rode into Alabama to honor a recently fallen Brother and stopped at the Alabama 'Welcome' Center just across the GA line. The center attendant actually came out to tell her she could not park her bike where she stopped, as it was a clearly marked handicap spot. We pointed out the clearly marked handicap tag. Idiot attendant obviously hates anyone on a motorcycle.

    I use an adapter on my Venture, it has a 5 pin pass through *and* a 3.5mm stereo headset jack So I can use my 5pin headset, OR just my S-Plug stereo earbuds, or both ( mic from headset but audio in earbuds ) http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/product.asp?Item=HA These along the line of what you are looking for ?

    my first motorcycle trip through Monteagle pass in TN was similar ... started to smell something like a burning smell. About 1/2 mile ahead was a tractor/trailer rig, must have been overloaded and burning his brakes. Got the hell out of the way *and* past him before anything bad could happen. At first, I thought it was something on my bike (Just had my RoadStar converted to a BigBore with HSR 42 gravity feed, so lots of engine/fuel changes had me worried ) Now on the Venture, I *know* the smell of burning brakes, burning rubber, and roadkill due to all the miles I've been. At the first hint of roadkill, I hold my breath as long as I can. Summer roadkill always smells like a$$, BAD.

    What battery did you order ??? I have lately been ordering the Odyssey batteries for my replacements. A bit pricey but longer warranty, great support ( so I'm told, haven't needed it in two years ) and better charge/discharge cycles and curves.
