than sympathy. I am not familiar with the laws in VA, let alone WI, but I know that I am sick of people talking about my bike taking up a parking spot. Three of us who ride to work ended up parked beside each other by coincidence earlier this week and people were saying it was not right how much space we were taking up. My feeling is that I drove 1 vehicle and I get 1 space. If i had driven my Ram 2500 van and parked it like my wife I would have taken up 2 spaces. I said that if they create a dedicated motorcycle only section (right in front of the building, of course) then I could be encouraged to use it, but unitl then I will occupy 1 space with 1 vehicle. Hope you get it worked out and get them off your back!

I have an 05 and was thinking about taking mine off just to make it easier to clean. I know lazy huh?? I just have not decided how I would like it with them off.

I bought my 05 RSV last July and have already done this 3 times. The first time I coasted to a stop on the side of the hiway before I figured it out. Each of the next two times I figured it out pretty fast. I only had to down shift into 4th. I'm am mechanically inept so what would cause the big bang?

Was researching BRP the other day as I plan to take that home from the Ashville rally in August. I have posted below a blurb about the closed section. It starts in Ashville and runs north. Also I posted two links I have been looking at. Enjoy!!! (Asheville, NC)-The 51.6-mile section of the Blue Ridge Parkway between US Route 70 East at Milepost (MP) 382.5 in Asheville and NC Route 226 at Milepost 330.9 at Gillespie Gap will be temporarily detoured due to a retaining wall failure at MP 364.6. This detour will be in effect from November 16, 2007 until corrective actions are completed. http://www.virtualblueridge.com/ http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/

After market seats for RSTD
bugfish69 replied to roadwarrior's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I have seen some good reviews on these seat for other bikes. At one point I thougt I was getting a good deal on a RSTD and was considering these as I had read many complaints about the stock seats. As it turns out I ended up with the RSV. http://www.ultimateseats.ca/yamaharoyalstarTD.html -
I also always wear earplugs. I have occasionally jumped on to run a quick errand at lunchtime without wearing them and I am almost immediately sorry that I did not put them in. I currently wear the Hearos brand designed for musicians and think they are more comfortable than the foam ones for me. My full face helmet does have pockets over the ear. If your helmet has padding flush with the ear they probably would not work well as they stick out a little. http://hearos.com/images/products/hearos-00211.jpg

I want to mount my GPS and Sirius and I have reviewed the Ram mounts that come highly recommended in the post and they are nice, but it seems to be too much stuff on the bars. I wanted to make use it the dash space where the front speakers are. Is anyone using the speaker vents to mount Sirius or GPS? I have seen vent mount for use in the cage. Is anyone making use of that method? Thanks, Bug

I an new to the GPS world. I have used a non-map handheld to mark tree stands and good fishing holes but that's about it. Recently we used a family members Garmin Nuvi on an out of town trip and it was fabulous for finding our way around and getting back again. One issue we had was that we could not specify a route. Granted, once i took a turn off course it was quick to recalculate, but the feature I want is to be able to specify which roads I take ahead of time. I could look at the map determine my route but the nuvi would not let you pick a route road by road ahead of time. I think that is important as I may not be familiar enough with the roads to know how to take alternate routes without the help of the GPS. Is this feature available on other GPS modules or did I miss something on the Nuvi. It is not covered in the details of most units. I am considering the follwoing uints after reading he posts here and doing research. Lawrence Iway 350C Magellen 2200T TomTom Rider 2 Garmin Zumo Any advice on this feature and these units would be apprecieated.

I don't have experience with one, but when I have the money I intend to get one. I don't have jack to worry about. I just want putting air in and cleaning the tires to be easier!

I found a good price on the H4 $41 per pair and free shiping. http://www.directtuning.com/store/pc-42241-155-piaa-bulb-h4-intense-white-6055w135125w-twin.aspx Which bulbs are best for the passing lamps? The Intense white H3 bulb is listed at 55W which is quite a bit highter than the stock 37w figure I have seen listed. Is this too much power for the passing lamps? If not is has a good price also. $39 with free shipping. http://www.directtuning.com/store/pc-42240-155-piaa-bulb-h3-intense-white-55w110w-twin.aspx Also, are these bulbs direct replacements for the passing lamp and headleamp bulbs or are there modifications needed? I have the Yamaha OEM passing lamps and I though I read those were sealed beam where you replace the entire lamp? The pics of the H3 show it with a pigtail attached?

My 1st Look into a RSV Pillow Top Seat
bugfish69 replied to Rick Butler's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Also would the sides be cut in any. In addition to being lower, I would like my seat to be narrower in the thigh area. I am looking forward to getting a report on the memory foam as I really would like the seat lowered. I have an 05 RSV with pillowtops. Thanks, Jim -
Need a Shorter Windshield
bugfish69 replied to Color01's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have the Yamaha 9" Low-Boy sport shield that I am not going to install. If you are interested PM me. It lists for $174 but I will make a deal on it. -
The Yamaha passing lamps were already installed on the 05 venture I purchased. I have some questions still after reading previous posts. 1. The lamps have a toggle switch to kill them completely if desired but are on when the high beam light is on and off when low beam is on. My mechanic just told me that this was illegal in VA. Do you run the passing lamps at the same time as the high beam? or Should I rewire them? 2. One of bulbs is burnt out, what is the best replacement bulb? Is there one brighter than stock and where is the best place to get them? Also, is there a brighter alternative to the headlight bulb while I'm at it? 3. Where can I find a spacer for the passing lamps to get them out from the fairing? I followed a link in a previous post and it said none were available via the classifieds. Thanks

I have been looking at these shields and was planning on getting a clear shield. Most seem to be getting the tinted shield. Is their an optical advantage or is it just about the appearance? Also, I want a lower shield that I can see over. How does the medium compare to the show chrome windshield?

I just found a pair in 40 short that fit me well. I'm 5'7" and about 230 - 240 depending on how many biscuits I just ate. I was please to find them at the dealership. Usually they just carry the standard sizes. If your dealer doesn't carry them you can order them online our your dealer can order them. They carry the short in sizes up to 42 waist. Here a link to check them out. http://www.fmscycles.com/eshopprod_cat_2745-15659_product_319062.HT_OVERPANTS_20_WATERPROOF_TE.htm
