  1. Yep, install the pin shield. It really helps with the fogging. I haven't had an issue since I installed mine. I recommend that once it's installed just leave it in. Sent from my phone.
  2. I went back and forth with the same question and finally went with a Garmin nuvo 660LM instead. Comes with the mounts , is weatherproof and doesn't overheat or crash. Sent from my phone.
  3. Seconded, looking forward to a write up. Hopefully with parts source information. Sent from my phone.
  4. Hello all, I am wondering what people do with their hand when the cruise is on. I have a 2009 and I like to keep my hand on the bar but that doesn't seem to work very well with the cruise on and holding the end cap gets old on longer rides. Does anyone make a bracket of some sort to rest your hand on? Thanks, Tom Sent from my phone.
  5. Thanks! One more silly question, where would someone get the fiberglass and how much of it would I need? I've been out of bikes for several years and appreciate the help! Thanks, Tom Sent from my phone.
  6. Thanks vzuden! It looks like a good product, I've looked him up and sent a message. Tom Sent from my phone.
  7. Eck, thanks for the link and the pointers! I'll take a stab at it, what's the worst that could happen.
  8. I'm not sure what I have, they came with the bike but they are a bit loud at highway speed for my liking. I'm thinking of replacing them with something else. I've attached pictures of them if anyone can give me an idea of what they are or where to look for the manufacturer, I haven't seen any markings on them.
  9. I'll get some better pictures soon, I'm at work. I've attached the pictures I have to far. I just have to take it off to get the pictures of the inside.
  10. Ok, so I had a bit of an accident the other day. I was coming out of my driveway and I had to quick stop due to a car taking off from a parked position. Well with the combination of things that went on including the layout of my driveway and not hitting the clutch quickly enough I laid the bike down bending the engine guard and putting a three inch crack in the lower fairing. I got the engine guard straighted out and am trying to determine if the fairing can be repaired or, if repairing is not possible, if the new replacement part comes ready to be installed or needs to be painted. I'll try to post a picture of the damage a bit later but am looking for any advice beyond "don't lay your 850+ pound bike down", that one I try to avoid. Thanks, Tom Sent from my phone.
  11. Excellent video, shared on FB. Thanks for posting!
