If you could have one new accessory added what would it be?
yamadawg replied to Yama Mama's topic in Watering Hole
We'd be interested in hearing more about a set of the inserts. Our next accessory will be a hidden hitch and trailer wiring harness. After that a taller windshield with vent, knee wind deflectors, GPS and I-Pod mounts, steibel horn, safety chrome air cleaner covers, then billet passenger floorboards. There are a few other pieces but they'll come later... -
Only your Proctologist knows for sure... Or was that supposed to be your hairdresser? Oh well... Oops... Please forgive this moment of weakness...

Passing Lights vs No Passing Lights
yamadawg replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just do it! I love mine for all of the mentioned reasons, and also have found that removing them to split the fairing is really no sweat. All you need is to remember a towel to keep from scratching anything. The increased visibility PLUS the way the lights enhance the look of the front made it one of my most favored upgrades. Hmmm... My math must not be what it used to be... Plus, I didn't know the eyebrow kit was an option. Just another ad that just don't seem quite right to me. I couldn't find the $2m in extras hidden in the photo. Take a look and let see what you think... http://knoxville.craigslist.org/mcy/1518716318.html

That (the Acer Aspire One) is exactly what I got for Mrs. Yamadawg last Christmas and she loves it. She bought a larger battery off of ebay and carries it everywhere. She uses the wireless connection here at home and uses her phone for the connection away from home. She also uses a wireless mouse and the keyboard is large enough to not be difficult or uncomfortable. My laptop computer is a Dell 15+" screen and I have no problem switching over to hers. I have been very impressed with this computer and would highly recommend it to anyone. Wal-Mart also carries this version. I bought hers there, I think it was around $250 then. We lucked up and got one of the "rare" (scarce) pink ones...

Kooool.....................I bet that high-tech player has an I-Pod dock. And maybe it's Quadraphonic. I'd been happy to send y'all some of my 8-track collection except we threw them all away. They were breaking at the splice and wrapping up inside of the player. But them were the days! I sure miss riding down the road seeing 300 feet of tape blowing in the breeze... hmmm... thanks for the memories! Anyway, congrats again on the new truck!
-
Congratulations! Don't forget the ramen noodles, too...
-
Congratulations! Excellent choice. I've always been a GM fan but really like the Ford trucks. I have a couple of questions: Did you get a cassette player with it? Are you going to switch to Road King pipes?

Down 'heer in the South that would qualify as a kidnapping. Well, at least while they are holding you hostage maybe they will give out plenty of cold beer and cheese. And don't worry... we'll be good... no worries at all. That's what my kids always told me... :group cheers::group cheers:

I had never seen one of those. Very cool! Thank you for sharing and inspiring all of the responses and photos! I bet it would be really neat to drive one of those, I just would not want it to be my primary transportation...

Oops... I misread your question. My answer did not relate to it at all. Could be "old-timers" setting in...

I'm with Condor on the scam idea. At the very least the seller is totally misleading. If you look at the sellers other auctions he has "RARE" in the description of six of the eight vehicles he is offering. I did not take the time to visit each listing so I do not know how much smoke he was blowing there, too. Obviously he is relying on the fact he can fool an unsuspecting buyer, and if called on it he'll probably feign ignorance himself. It looks like a pretty nice bike that could sell itself at a reasonable market price. I just hate the thoughts of someone getting taken on the deal. Imagine buying one of these great bikes only to find out you were taken to the cleaners on price. What a nimrod... In the old west days I could imagine him travelling around selling snake oil...

I enjoyed spending time on the other site, too, and it was the first Venture site I ever visited. The folks on there were super and really helped me with my first Venture. Now that I use only my work laptop I cannot use the site. I have wound up with Trojan Downloaders twice and our techs have forbidden me from going there since we have been forced to clean this up. I let my membership expire there because I just could not go to the site... I have never experienced any problems here thankfully! Thank you Don for taking care of us.

Thank you all for the kind words! We think of her as a little Biker Chick-let... She'll be BabyDawg, too... She even got her own little leather jacket to commemorate her first ride.

Still riding here in East Tennessee. We rode the Dragon Sunday and logged around 200 miles. It was 65 degrees. No winterizing here, just a little winter gear and look for a sunny day. Many days are above freexing and with the sun out that is all we need. Too bad the job won't allow the bike for business travel or I'd be riding more...
-
Ditto for me, too. Very well said!

Wow! I love this weather, November 29th and just barely jacket weather here in East Tennessee. Our daughter is in for Thanksgiving and happened to mention that she had never ridden the Dragon. So, of course, I knew then that I just had to take her there. We got there late in the afternoon and had the road almost to ourselves and rode end to end and back taking time to enjoy the ride. To top off the day we rode the Foothills Parkway from Tellico Lake to Hwy 321, then finished the day with a big steak at the local Outback. We rode right at 200 miles with great scenery and enjoyed a great meal. Life is good...

We were blessed to have our daughter and new granddaughter, Hayden, home for Thanksgiving. We got to take Hayden for her first ride Saturday! As we rode around the neighborhood and she was a little apprehensive at first but warmed up pretty quickly and enjoyed the ride. It looks like we have another biker in training...

Congratulations!!!

I can take or leave the turkey, but love the dressing along with gravy and cranberry sauce. Then ham. Lots of ham... and then finish off with some fine homemade banana pudding. Then, some chess squares... 'scuse me, I gotta go get something to eat...
