The image/file uploading function isn't working for me within this website, so I uploaded some pictures to Photobucket and have included the link below. My question is pertaining to the "spark plug" that seems to be coming out of the bottom of the antenna base. I thought it was a spark plug antenna, but I'm not a mechanic so I was only observing what I saw. As I understand it this removes interference?? And as some of you have now advised me, that left antenna is for the CB (which I don't use anyway), so it's not important really, but I just want to get the new antenna (included in pictures) replaced with the old one that had broken off due to rust. My dilemma is that I can't figure out how to take that "spark plug" out (I've pulled, yanked, twisted and turned it in in a vise grip with the appropriate wrenches, but it's not budging it seems. Alternatively, I could purchase a "new" spark plug...I just don't know what type this is and I can't find information on it anywhere.
Thanks and I hope this clears things up...sorry I'm not up on all the proper lingo...again, I ride them but I don't do a lot of my own work on them...I believe in taking my things to professionals in their fields. I'm a software engineer...so I know code but I don't know motorcycle parts all that well...BUT I'm working on learning and doing more and more myself (because the mechanics charge 80 - 100/hr for labor. lol)
