  1. Some testing to further isolate the blockage. 1) Crack the Banjo at the master to see if brake lets go. 2) Crack the Banjo at the caliper to see if brake lets go. 3) Crack the bleeder at the caliper to see if brake lets go.
  2. BBBBUUUURRRRrrrrrrrrr I have never experienced more than -40 and that was only in an environmental chamber at work so I just had to walk out the door and into the next chamber that was maintained at 145F and 98% humidity to get warm again. The coldest the weather has ever been here is -26 and WC of -35 Hope you have a good heater in your ice shack. It looked like you also got a bit of new snow from this last little cloud that went by. There are a lot of the diehards out on the ice already around here. There are also some falling thru and needing rescue.
  3. A man is never wrong, just ask my honey, she will splain it on ya. Wrong, never, in trouble, always. There is a difference...............
  4. Yes I am still on the mend. My machines are out there just spinning out of control. It will be quite a while yet before i can lift much more than a dinner plate. Just went to doc for post op checkup, he said it was looking good but will take quite a while to get back to "normal?". I will be attempting to go into work tomorrow but I doubt if I will last more than a couple of hours before I have to head back home. They are happy with any time they can get out of me. I think I will be part time at least all of this week. There is only about 14 inches on the ground around here. The younguns will be over soon to do the shoveling while I sit in the window and watch.
  5. Trouble is my middle name. I been causing trouble since the day I was hatched, Literally. I hit that cold air on my birth day and immediately squirted the doc in the eye, Slap my butt will he................
  6. Now grab your honey and get back to plan A...............
  7. :moon::moon::moon: :moon::moon: :moon: :moon:
  8. Well we have determined that it is @saddlebum way up nort der that like to leave his back door open and let these polar blasts come flying out of Canada. You just have to convince him to close that door.
  9. An easy test to see if you should be up or down one gear. Hold the throttle steady, slide your hand up so that you are also gripping the housing in front of the throttle so that you do not unconsciously move it. Now shift up or down 1 gear. Whichever gear ends up with the higher speed for that throttle setting is the gear you should be in for that combination of speed, loaded weight, wind, grade, road surface etc. If you are in to high of a gear you will actually have the throttle more open than if you were in a lower gear with higher RPM but a more closed throttle, thus better MPG. It is counter intuitive, but thee higher rpm in a lower gear the engine may be working less hard to maintain speed.
  10. Nope, I don't do ice, you will have to figure out someone else to blame for that. I like snow.
  11. I know just how ol Cowpuc is feeling. We are expecting another 8-12 inches PLUS some possible lake effect mixed in, today and tomorrow. Those that live near the great lakes know what that can mean. I still like SNOW................. I get to sit in the window and watch someone else shovel it while sipping on my hot coco and eating RUM Balls.
  12. The sync is the last thing you do when messing with things. However if the sync is way off then you may need to sync before and after doing mods. Once you have the tools, The sync is a fast easy process. I often stay in second if cruising at 25. If I am cruising at 25 it means I am in city traffic. Being in 2nd not only puts the engine closer to its max efficiency rpm but it also give a much more instant acceleration when a texter runs that stop sign or red light. Often instant acceleration and getting out of the way is the better option than trying to stop. that half second slower take off or time to down shift mite be the difference in making the escape. I do not use 5th till I am over 60 mph.
  13. There is no perfect carrier. A lot depends on the individuals that come into contact with your package. I saw five 60" TVs getting delivered, they were slid off the truck and allowed to drop to the ground one by one. It would not surprise me if they all had to be sent back. Sometimes I wonder if packages get rough handling as a form of job security. If you have to send it back, that is a shipped package and then the new one is another shipped package, it triples the amount of shipping and that needs more people to to handle the volume.
  14. You could just put the 2 of you in there and bring the water to a boil....................
  15. Every light on my bike except for the headlight and driving lights (headlight and driving lights are HID) is from Super Bright. I also use their lights in many non bike projects. I have always been very satisfied with their products. HID is still the brightest light available, But LED has passed up halogen and is getting closer to HID.
  16. Cool air and some snow makes for a perfect time to head for the hot tub........
  17. Ouch!!! That looks a lot like one of my stocks that I had to repair. I sure hope you are able to get the apes to pay for it. Their favorite line is "Insufficient Packaging, damage not covered" MANY years ago I special ordered a rifle from Remington, it was delivered with about a 15° bend in the barrel and tire tracks on the outside of the box. Fortunately I did not have to deal with UPS, that was between the gun shop and Remington to sort out. At work all of our machines are shipped UPS. We paid UPS over $10K to design our packaging to safely use their shipping, When they destroy a machine they still try the "Insufficient Packaging, damage not covered". IF you end up getting to keep that stock and get made whole in the deal, I would be interested in the remains of that stock. I have one Mauser that I built from a broken stock almost like that one that turned out well, I am in the process of building another one and still need a stock for it.
  18. It is only 100° cooler here right now. But since I am still laid up, it is a nice balmy 64° in the house.
  19. Awesome! Looking forward to it.
  20. I wonder if since I had to BUY those lights to put on my trailer if I can get a refund on what I paid????
  21. Then you went right past me, I am on the scenic route along the lake. You should have stopped.......
  22. If common sense were so common, how come so few people have it? I have always been a fan of letting Darwin do his job. What we really need is legal reform to a system where if you sue someone and lose, you must pay all of the defendants legal expenses. This will at least slow down the flood of frivolous lawsuits.
  23. I can understand it...................
  24. Not a lot here Front and rear brake pads. Fork seals. come spring oil change. IF I get really ambitious, I still need to paint left saddlebag lid.
