OK Silly question time. Now that Bob mentioned it, That screw head does not look so much like it is rounded out as it looks like it IS a SAE Philips head. What thread did you tap that hole out to? -
Glad to hear you are on the mend. Yes it is amazing what Drs can do these days. MD is coming........

No!!!! Don't go wasting no apple pie on no stinker!

I seem to have lost my toga also, I guess I'll have to do nekid chat.................

That sounds like fun, but it looks like things have changed in the last quarter century since you were there.

Well I sure hope that your "setbacks" are not from us making you laugh to much. They say laughter is the best medicine, But it sure can hurt at the same time. I just had a similar experience and I found that some of the soreness that came later was due to over compensating and sitting and moving in weird positions that I am not used to, to try to take pressure of of the original ouch. Just pay attention to how you are doing things to see if you can spot the things you are now doing different. And of course, make sure that you are not just simply pushing it to hard or to fast, maybe no more 2 mile walks for a while.......

Another good plan comes together....... -
Great Roads and Great Wisdom GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED: 1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats. 2) When your Mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair. 3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person. 4) Never ask your 3-year-old brother to hold an egg. 5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food. 6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair. 7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time. 8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk. 9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts. 10) The best place to be when you're sad is on Grandma's lap. GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED: 1) Raising teenagers is like talking sense to a psychopath. 2) Wrinkles don't hurt. 3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts. 4) Today's mighty oak tree is yesterday's nut that held its ground. 5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside. 6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy. GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD: 1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional. 2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get. 3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there. 4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster. 5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions. 6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician. 7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone. What a roundabout!!!! THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE: 1) You believe in Santa Claus. 2) You don't believe in Santa Claus. 3) You are Santa Claus. 4) You look like Santa Claus. SUCCESS: At age 4, success is . . . Not peeing in your pants. At age 12, success is . . . Having friends. At age 17, success is . . . Having a driver's license. At age 35, success is . . . Having money. At age 50, success is . . . Having lots of money. At age 70, success is . . . Having a driver’s license. At age 75, success is . . . Having friends. At age 80, success is . . . Not peeing in your pants. Always remember to forget the troubles that pass your way; BUT NEVER forget the blessings that come each day! Have a wonderful day with many smiles!

Well, better him than me, I have my own frying pans to deal with................ I bought her a nice set of lightweight aluminum fry pans instead of those nasty old heavy cast iron ones..........

Better take a look at google earth to see what is on that mountain, it is all built up, your neighbors are 10 feet away from you. You will need and even WANT a good snow storm to quiet things down. On a brighter note, today is the average coldest day of the year. This means that the thermometer will now start climbing toward springtime, and then summer.

I'm thinking that the video will be mostly Tippy beating Cowpuc over the head with a frying pan to try to knock some of that elusive common sense into him................ Still be fun to watch................ I'm betting that Tippy can out run the old Pucster right now.

So you are saying that you could tie a rope to Tweeks, run that to a pulley on the ceiling, and back down to wrap it around your butt and then sit on that rope to lift Tweeks up to vertical, AND then hope she stays there while you get off the rope and jump up on her back? We need video of this....................

Now this would be an interesting challenge on several fronts. 1. There are no empty lots on top of Crown Mountain to buy. 2. It would be an interesting challenge. 3. There is a WTJX-TV antenna right on the top of the mountain that I can use for a homing / aiming point.
-
I'll be keepin a close eye on you to, You know that with all of the fancy aiming optics that I have I will still catch you even if Tip just happens to blink that evil eye for just a second. Hourly may not be often enough to keep you in line. I'll have to have a talk with her. I am trying to work out the details for making the international this year. Still planning to make it to Dons MD. Who knows who I might bring with me this year.

Oh does this bring back memories............................ OK, You asked for it wise guy........... Leaning or lifting does not matter force is force. To generate a specific force, the muscles will need a certain amount of contraction, this contraction generates a momentary spike in blood pressure for the duration the force is applied, the body is always trying to keep things in balance, so the muscles of the abdomen also contract so that your arm (or whatever other limbs you were bringing into the lift) can not push all of the blood out of the contracting muscle. Now if you have stitches across your abdomen you sure do not want to rip those out either while they contract to maintain an equilibrium of blood pressure. A spike in blood pressure could pop a suture on a blood vessel to if you have any of those. You pop a vascular suture, and if you think you are black and blue now................ ......................OK I really made most of that up as I typed it, but from a mechanical engineering standpoint it does sound good............. I have seen first hand just how POed a doc can get if you mess up their original handiwork. You do NOT want a doc POed at you, who knows what horrible test or treatment he might call for. Your welcome. But it really was a labor of love to start this thread. Besides, If you did dissappear, who would possibly be able to fill your big ol shoes of :stickpoke: and :stirthepot: and even . So there.........

Now @cowpuc you best be behavin yourself over there. Don't make me load up a batch of that 60° snow just to keep you from hurting yourself.................
-
I would bet that it takes a lot more than 10 lbs to lift Tweeks off the side stand. Just don't go blowing a gasket on all of that nice sewing work you had done. It is still pretty early. Now you best be behavin yourself over there. Don't make me load up a batch of that 60° snow, that we had discussed earlier, just to keep you from hurting yourself.................

I am always a day late and a dollar short. There weren't even any crumbs left in the chat room.

Well I went to visit the doc again on Monday. He said all is looking good. The swelling and fluid buildup are nearly gone so there will be NO harpooning needed. Whew........ He did give me a post dated full release for next week Wednesday to go back to my normal routine of causing trouble anywhere I can. Woo Hoo, Now where to start???????

I so love messing with phone scammers. My record to keep one on the line is 38 minutes. I figure that is at least 38 potential victims that were spared from getting scammed. I am thinking about taking my phone number off of the "Do Not Call List". It is my own opinion that the scammers are using the do not call list as a list of known good numbers for them to call. I think I might get a few calls from legitimate companies that actually use the do not call list for its intended purpose and less calls from scammers. It was just 2 weeks after I put my cell phone on the do not call list that I started to get lots of scam calls to my cell phone.

Here is a link with some more links in it if you read all of the responses. There are links to sever semi scientific studies done. https://www.quora.com/What-happens-to-the-bullet-if-a-gun-is-fired-vertically-upward-from-Earths-surface. The one main theme is there are just way to many cases of injuries and death from celebratory fire "straight" up.

That should do the trick. You can use the part that mounts there to help accurately mark the hole location. -
Great news Puc, I am sure you will be back out CTFWing in no time. But go easy on the rehab, you don't want to break anything and have to in for any warranty work and get to start all over. Just to tease you I will send some warm air and sunshine over the big pond this week. Maybe you can take the tractor up and down the driveway and pretend you are blowing .

Fry them up with some taters and gravy.................. Or just teach your dog that they are delicious. I have a 90lb dog that will fly thru the house, moving furniture, chasing them small quick furry snacks. Just don't get in her way.......... It can hurt.

A round fired straight up will come back down with around 50% of the energy it headed up with. Depending on just how that variables of caliber, bullet weight, sectional density, ballistic coefficient, muzzle velocity, twist rate, temperature, humidity, wind, barometric pressure, and density altitude, all interact with each other, and on the bullet. There are documented cases where someone has died from a bullet fired very nearly straight up. Of course the closer to level the more the chance of lethality.
