I got up, looked out the window and it was still snowing. The new snow and the whole sky wer a redish copper color. Looked kind of cool. The last winter solstice lunar eclipse was on Dec 21, 1638, by my math that is only 372 years ago. That was also the ONLY other time that there was a lunar eclipse on the winter solstice going back to the year 1. At least we do not have to wait as long to see the next lunar eclipse on the winter solstice, it will happen again on Dec 21, 2094. My source was NASA. They have been wrong before. I'll start planning an all nighter M&E for that date......

If I go out to look at the moon tonight, all I will see is snowflakes in my eye. Steve, I here ya, It is the second week of Jan before I get to see the sun on the way to or from work.

I think they are probably "not legal for street use" in most states. The reason is that they do reduce the amount of light than is visible. Because they reduce the transmitted light, they will reduce your visibility to other drivers.

Ahhh but I am not premature but timed perfectly, just as other parts of my life. The winter solstice is Dec 21, but if you checkout the Sunrise sunset tables you will see that....... Yes sunrise is getting later NOW.

Ouch, that was painful. I just sent $300 worth of new in the box ink to the landfill that no one had a use for. But it just got in my way once to often.

Magnet for oil filter???
Flyinfool replied to DanC's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
When you place your order be sure to get a few spare washers, they do wear out, and I always hate to pay the shipping on a 35 cent part. -
Pics, Don't forget the pics.

Magnet for oil filter???
Flyinfool replied to DanC's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I prefer the magnetic drain plugs. If there are metal particles floating around, they came off of somewhere and I would like to know that something is up before it goes completely. Also the drain plug can catch chunks that are rolling around in there to prevent them from getting sucked thru the oil pump and possibly causing damage there. With a magnet that holds it in the filter, you will never see the chunks and like what was said above, if the particles made it to the filter, they should be trapped by the filter anyhow. -
I just picked up a 1 year supply of HeartGuard Plus for a 100lb dog for $80 direct from my vet. Along with another $45 of other shots and vaccines. It seams that my vet is most interested in the health of my dog and having lots of patients than to have just a few patients with big bills.

Do like me and just leave the door open, Oh wait, I need a garage before I can have a garage door to leave open. Never mind My truck likes the cold and the fresh air, it gets claustrophobic when confined in a small space like a garage.

Those are sure tiny pics for my old eyes. But I think it looks cool.

Well the title says it all. With all of the hype about the coming great white death, gloom and doom, etc etc etc... There is less snow on the ground now than when the storm started yesterday. The 40-50mph winds are interesting though. All of my nice snow went away, those bums in MN took all of the snow for themselves and didn't leave any in the storm to share.
-
Hey it is the time of year for sharing and giving. So we are sharing some of this nice cool crisp air with you southerners.

NOPE! Hunting season is winding down, the freezer is just about full of dead deer (might be room for one more small doe), there is enough snow down that I can not get my bike out of its parking place. Just waiting for the new year and funds to start some of my winter projects. In the meantime all I can do is to stay here and cause trouble...

Silly question, but it looks like a single track from front to back, How does one turn??
-
But please wring the moisture out of it before you return it. That 48° air was nice and dry when it was sent down there. Thank you

Just sitting here watching the thermometer drop and wondering....... HOW and WHY!!!

Well if the readers were not made then there would be no reason to put the RFID tags in anything. If I claim to be starting a business then that is all of the reason necessary to buy a reader. It sounds like you can protect yourself by just adding some aluminum foil to your wallet if you are worried about it. I do not have anything with the RFID tags in it, so it does not affect me, YET.

Now ya done it!
