  1. +1 more, Most threadlockers will destroy most plastics. I would grind off the damaged plastic right away to stop the damage from continuing to spread. Just take some good pics and measurements first so that you know exactly where and how high to rebuild it. If you are concerned with the fasteners backing out of plastic, there are 2 options that I know of. 1. Use Loctite #425 which is made for metal or plastic fasteners. 2. Use some RTV on the threads. When referring to Loctite, it is not safe to just say the color, There are only five colors to use on forty or so different grades and strengths of Loctite. Also different brands use different colors for different things.
  2. Just don't bend over laughing.......
  3. I wear my Gortex hunting gloves from Cabellas and my hands do not get wet or cold. The blaze orange also helps to make hand gestures more noticeable......
  4. Careful I have an aunt in Ladysmith that I visit and I drive right through Cadott on the way there and back........
  5. Sounds good to me. I just hope that that is not the same weekend as another event that I am kind of required to attend. But be careful, If I remember correctly, (and I usually do:whistling:) at the last WI MD the 1st gens out numbered the 2nd gens and the 2nd gens had the most work getting done. Maybe even I can get some work done on my bike this time .......
  6. I would put it either towards a backrest or trailer.
  7. I wish we had some white stuff to trade you........ Not really, I lied. You can keep that heat, I can dress for the cold and be comfortable, In the heat you can only take so much off and then you get arrested. I had an opportunity once for an all expense paid 3 week trip to OZ in January, It took a lot of finagling to talk my way out of it. Still glad I stayed home, it got up to around 140°F and the trip was to fix the AC system. That meant 140 in the shade, next to an 8,000+ HP diesel engine, WORKING on the AC. I usually head for cover and find AC when it gets over 70, I keep the AC in my house set at 67.
  8. It is obvious that I was quite clear. My point exactly......... Worse yet that might even be within my range. Hence my warning.
  9. Although I have never made it to a M&E, I have only been to MDs. There is always the possibilities of some folks border jumping from surrounding states. The MDs that I have been to also had some of the folks that traveled longer distances looking for a spot to crash for the night. Just my .02 But you have been warned that the borders are NOT secure.
  10. Is that Wild Turkey on the rocks or for the deep fryer?
  11. They look delicious.
  12. Based purely on the info on the GreenBoatStuff website. They are using a switching voltage regulator to drop the 12V bike power down to the 3.5V that the LEDs want. A switching regulator works by turning the power on and off very fast, this makes spikes on the input side and a rippled power on the output side. When using a switching regulator with devices that are sensitive to power that is not smooth they just add capacitors to the input and output to smooth everything out. LEDs being just a light do not care if there power is smooth or not. Capacitors are very cheap and certainly worth a try if someone has these lights to experiment with. Now my interpretation of the inf on GreenBoats website may be all wet in which case ignore everything I just said.
  13. I'm jealous. That is what my back yard should look like. Up here in WI, I still have grass showing. I never miss an opportunity to out and drive in the snow. Its fun.
  14. Oh the indignity of it. Not only did your venture have to ride on a trailer, which is bad all by its self. But then to add insult to injury, it had to ride upside down. And the final indignation it had to make the trip out in the wide open spaces totally naked for all to see its most private parts of it s undercarriage. This is a good reminder for those that are doing major projects this winter, so your bike does not have to suffer this horrible embarrassment.
  15. Eventually I will get ALL of the chrome off of my bike........ Flame suit on.......
  16. I also have had Vonage since they came out. The included features are second to none. When I call them there is an American sounding voice on the phone that can answer my questions. My GF just made a call to Hungary when there was a death in the family and talked for a little over a half hour for $2.15. My cable provider has its own power so they usually stay up during power outages (unless of course the tree that took out power also takes down the cable wire). I can just use the 12 batteries from my camper to keep all of the modems up and running for days.
  17. Does this mean that as the valves wear that the lift and duration will increase, longer lift and duration usually makes more power. That kind of fits with the old saying from my stock car racing days, "An engine will run its best just before it blows". That sure does not look like a $70 tool. I would love to borrow one so I can copy it and have it ready to go when I dive into my valve adjustment next year. I figure its time since I have 45K on it now.
  18. hey! I resemble this post......
  19. Judging from the wording of some, I'll bet that it was not MEN that came up with them.
  20. Gee, not very fast, a 2nd gen might keep up. But they are a lot cheaper than a new 2nd gen.
  21. That method works with most predators. Even me. Also 40 and 46 say pretty much the same thing and 48 is false, so it is down to 147
  22. Does that mean it is burnin a lot of oil????? You should get that fixed.
  23. I think that you have that all upside down, maybe from hanging by you ankles upside down for your whole life. Here we drive on the right side of the road, it just makes sense to always keep to the right side of things. Look at marine or aviation law anywhere in the world, you always pass by an oncoming vehicle to the right. So there ....... I am really hoping to be able to make it to Dons MD this year to meet you and a lot of the other wild people from this site.
  24. No Actually it was this morning.
  25. People in Wisconsin , in general, have a warped sense of humor. This is HWY K near Ogdensburg , WI . A deer was hit there. The couch was dumped there previously. Day two the deer was on the couch. Day three the end table and lamp showed up. Day four the TV and TV stand showed up. The County Sheriff had to call WI DOT because of all the people stopping to take pictures. The cardboard caption in front of the deer on the couch reads, "Sorry Hunters. Obama ruined healthcare. We can't afford to have injured hunters on our conscience, so I'm staying home! Sorry, the Deer." http://us.mg2.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=1%5f101179%5fAIkxvs4AANpCTQ%2fdfAOzsGTtFf8&pid=2&fid=Inbox&inline=1
