OK, silly man question. Is there any difference between ladies boots and mens boots other than style? Of if they fit all is good?

Although I have never had a passenger on my Venture, I have accedentally ridden with the passenger boards down. I did find that with my big feet as I take off from a stop, I do not like to drag my feet, so I kind of let them move back as the bike moves forward and since my foot is longer than the distance from the bottom of the board to the ground, and I got my big foot stuck under the board. (Not good for the toe of your boot.) This summer if the GF decides to start riding with me, I will have to relearn some things. That looks like it may have some potential.

There are some that try to get away with using the ball for the ground. That may work for a while but is not the right way to do it. As soon as the ball or the coupler gets some rust or dirt you will have an intermittent connection. A 4 wire is; ground run left turn/brake right turn/brake A 5 wire is; Ground Run Brake Left turn Right turn Your bike is 5 wire because the brake light and the turn signals are separate. Most trailers are 4 wire and have combined brake and turn signals. To put a 4 wire trailer on a 5 wire tow vehicle you need a converter installed on the tow vehicle. To put a 5 wire trailer on a 5 wire bike you do not "need" anything other than the connector. Dang, I typed to slow again, yet still.
-
A lot depends on your trailer as to whether it requires 4 or more wire connections. This will also determine what isolator you would need. Many people replace all of the trailer lights with LEDs and that can change the bike requirements as well. With that said, most trailers use the 4 wire setup. When I wire up my bike I will use a powered 5 to 4 wire converter.

After the M&E, the better half is considering trying a ride on the bike. Will have to get her a helmet and some decent shoes, she only has stupid girl shoes. Then I get to learn how to adjust the rear shock air pressure and shock rate. It has been at least 15 years since I have had a passenger on the back. If we make it up there we will have to get back home early enough to let the Killer dog out. If it is just me making it up there, then there are more possibilities.

Cruise Control quick engage trick?
Flyinfool replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Any chance to adapt the cruse from a 1st gen, mine will set at anything from 25-85 MPH regardless of gear. -
Thanks, it was a pleasure. Hmmmmm...... Maybe next time will have to set it up at either Nite Owl or Kopps. Good burgers and good ice cream. Or I suppose we could do Culvers or DQ. Culvers and DQ both have good ice cream but lousy food. If we did Nite Owl we could go across the street and watch airplanes while we eat. Today we were talking about taking Erika shopping for some riding gear. She has nothing at this point.

But who is that old gray hared guy across from you???? Erika and I had a good time today. I sure hope everyone else did to.

Freebird's Maintenance Day Parts/Accessories Thread

Is there any chance in a blue moon that you could have an OEM Yamaha windscreen for my 88 venture?? I know it is a discontinued item. I know there are some good after market ones, But I would prefer an original if I can find one anywhere. If you find one, let me know and I will stop looking for one, and wait for MD. -
Why are we required to fill in the "Name" field in our Profile now?
Flyinfool replied to a topic in Watering Hole
Ha! I googled my screen name and you had to go thru a lot of pages before there was one that was actually me. I seem to have a pretty popular handle. -
I'm pretty sure that you wii will not do it. But it will not hurt anything to try.

The other option is if you have a USB flash drive (with at least 8 gig of free space), you could go to visit someone that has a computer with a DVD, and copy the 3 files onto the thumb drive and then bring it home to copy to your computer for viewing. 8G flash drives start at around $15 from Best Buy, if you hunt a little you can probably find one for less. If someone had the right software you could split those files up and put it on a bunch of CDs to copy to your computer. If you stop over by my place I will be happy to copy the files over for you. While we watch them of course. As was mentioned you need a computer with a DVD player to be able to read these disks. Game machines or video DVD or blue-ray players will not be able to do it.

Did you notice if the voltage changes were in sync with engine speed. The stator does not put out good power till above 3,000 rpm. There could be an electrical problem with your jacket or pants. Or it could just simply be that even the upgraded stator can not keep up with the power demand for all of the stuff that you have.

I'll take all you can spare. Do you deliver?

That's how I ride on my 1st gen......... Well OK maybe not quite that good. Well OK I just really suck in my riding skills compared to them...... I have seen a few different shows that these 2 have done, It never ceases to amaze me.

On TV last night they were talking that it would be ultimate storm if CS were to show up at the protests in Madison WI. I sure hope not, BOTH issues are being reported to the point of nausea. It does help me get things done though, as soon as either one pops up on the boob tube it gives me the needed ambition to get up off of my dead a$$ and head to the shop to get something done. OK rant over for now. Sorry:whistling:

I sent in a 6 year old unit and the tech said that even though it was way out of warranty, it should have never had that problem. I sent it to them by next day air and in the not I said that I really needed it for a hunting trip on the coming weekend. They transferred all of my data, sent me the newest version of that model, next day air, all no charge. I doubt that I will ever get anything other than a Garmin in the foreseeable future.

No robins yet here. Next week is when I typically see my first robin. Now the caned geese are a different story. they have gotten lazy and no longer fly south for the winter, they just hang around here all year. They are very brave and foolish birds. But I do think that they can read your intent, I have seen them make some cars stop, but for me they must be able to sense that I do not stop for critters unless they are worth picking up after I have passed them. They always scramble to get out of my way long before I get there. Their messin wit ya cuz dey know yur skeerd o dem.

The Sunrise? It is snowing way to hard to try to see a sunrise..... I'm way to busy dodging stupid people, as the spin into the ditch, to watch the sunrise.
