If it stops snowing tomorrow tomorrow I will try to post some pics of the damage.

Your pretty close to RedRider. If desperation sets in, I have done this to my bike and it is quite easy, but a longer ride.

I would really love to convert my mill to CNC 5 axis. I could then use the same controller to convert my Lathe to CNC. Second thought would be a garage so that I can still work on the bike when the weather is bad.

I have a plastic car topper to put on my HF trailer. I did not notice when I acquired it that it looks to have been crashed on one corner. There are some deep scrapes and the corner was pushed in and it rubbed thru at the crease mark. I cant complain, the price was right, which is why I did not look at it closely. I think the thing is vac formed out of ABS but I'm not certain about that. It is an off white in color and has a heavily textured surface. It is a Kartote brand. I was going to do the repair by laying up some glass cloth and epoxy on the inside, but after thinking about that, I realized that this cover is very flexible/flimsy and the glass/epoxy would not be, It will probably just crack off. Is there something flexible that I can use with the glass cloth to repair the crack. Eventually I will paint it, but that will not be for a while, at least not this year, unless I just buzz bomb it.

If it is not gone by then, I will be up in your part of the state (Ladysmith) for the 4th of July weekend. Maybe I can stop by and have a look. Don't save it for me, if its gone it is gone, my loss for waiting.

I have used this for its intended purpose and it did work well. http://media.midwayusa.com/productimages/large/222/222645.jpg In my guns I notice an increase in muzzle velocity and reduced peak pressure with the moly coated bullets. Never tried it for any other purpose. But now I might.

Where the HE$$ does the seat nuts go.

OUCH! Your not supposed to drop your nuts..... Doesn't the big nut go ON the seat? -
I grew up as that "different" kid through school. Never fit in with the crowd, did not have the coordination to play any sports, looked funny, etc. I never had any special medical or physiological help. Look at how I turned out.

Will this new truck at least be capable of pulling that MC trailer ALL the way to the left coast? Glad your getting better.

That looks like a LONG way back to have that much load hanging. I don't think I would trust it for anything more than very short distance emergency use. Just to many disclaimers in the ad.

As far as the wing light. Are you certain that it did not flicker before the trailer converter install? Does the wing light only flicker with the trailer plugged in? From what I have read, most of the people that say the tongue needs to be lengthened never tried it stock or had no issue with it stock but changed it anyhow just cuz someone said it was better or matched a formula. There are many on this site that are pulling the HF trailer as designed with no issues. I intend to try mine stock before I consider the extra work of modifying the tongue. I hope to finish the hitch on the bike next week and then finish building my HF trailer the following week to start testing. First test will be behind my P/U so that if there are any issues I can just disconnect it and load it in the back of the truck to get home. Also there is no chance of that little trailer causing my P/U to crash if something really bad goes wrong with the trailer on the test run.

I wonder how many that you were seeing were people getting out of motorcycling. Now with the gas prices skyrocketing more people are keeping their bikes. Talked to a local stealer and he said that there are loads of bikes crawling out of storage that have been stored for many years and the owners want them running. Same thing happened last time gas hit $4.

valve adjustment questions
Flyinfool replied to preach2u's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I may be wrong but I thought that I read somewhere that the Suzuki type tool will work on the venture, but only if the engine is out of the bike. So if you were doing some other major engine work the Suzuki type tool is supposed to be easier to use. But I am only going from memory of what I think I remember reading on here somewhere. I am old and do suffer from CRS syndrome. Here is a thread where I am in the process of making some valve shim tools. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55831 I still am not finished with these since I have other projects that are more pressing right now and tying up my mill. If you have access to a CNC mill (I'm all manual machining) the tool would be fairly easy to make. With manual machining, it is fairly challenging. -
And now you know why I have never asked any woman to get that done and there is no way I would have it done to me either. It did not look like fun and the hair will just grow back anyhow.

Only if you take them home with you to get many pics of them on the front lawn. I also want pics of how the three of them will be loaded on your bike to get them home.....
