  1. Got all of the electrical done. The 5-4 powered converter is installed under the seat and the waterproof cig lighter outlet is installed in the dash for the GPS. Still deciding just where I want to mount the GPS, I'm reading all of the GPS mounting threads for ideas, some I like and some I do not. I am leaning tword making a plate that will mount to the top of the master cylinder using the same screws that hold down the cover to the master and then uses the ram mount above that. I will carry a supply of Ziploc baggies to put over the GPS in case it rains. I also see that there may be a need to run a power line to the trunk. I was looking at getting a cheap MP3 player and an FM transmitter that I could just leave in the trunk and then pick up the tunes on the bikes radio. It would also give me a dry place to plug in the cell phone for charging. Next project is getting the driving lights installed and set up.
  2. I'll have to see if I still have an extra one around. I was going to put the last one I have on my new trailer. I also have some other ideas up my sleeve.
  3. Hopefully it will work out like it does around here. At the end of the school year the make all of these teacher layoffs but call most of them back before the start of the school year.
  4. Ya! We would never cause no trouble while your not looking.
  5. Arrange to take delivery in Oberlin, OH on June 3rd or 4th. Then just fly north, there will be plenty of folks to help you check the bike out to be sure it is ready for the ride home on the 5th.
  6. That's not wild, it is just my style. Thanks Tom, You da man.
  7. Fortunately I do not have to worry about a well, Lake Michigan (3 blocks away) is not going to dry up in my lifetime. $30 in gas for a mowing? That $30 will get my bike 300 miles. I get POed when I use more than a gallon of gas for mowing in a whole YEAR.
  8. I sure wish my rain gauge looked like that. I love droughts when my grass turns that lovely shade of brown and the mower can be ignored for months at a time, and I can park my bike in the yard without having to put a steel plate under the side stand every time because the dry ground is as hard as concrete. If it rains I have to waste valuable riding time using the mower.
  9. I guess I'll have to make sure that I always have wood available.
  10. Seeing as how he can not get back to his ride, I wonder how far he has to walk the other way?
  11. It sure seems to me that since there seems to a strong knowledge base on straightening the crash bar that there should also be a lot of donations being made..... ........ Just thinkin out loud here......
  12. If it was in the garage it wouldn't be so bad. Since I do not have a garage the trailer will be standing up against the storage shed. So I need to have it secured so that no kid or storm can pull it down on top of themselves and also against theft. I just have 2 quick detach pads on the back of the trailer and will attach the tongue to the shed with a lock.
  13. Maybe this is a good excuse to go get a plastic welder from HF. This may have been a better solution. Oh well, if my repair does not stick, I'll peel it all off and get the welder.
  14. I have the one with the 8 inch wheels. From what I have seen on mine, I would think that the one with 12 inch wheels would need a taller fender.
  15. It is still at the point of me needing to make the fixture for the final cuts of the ramp. My mill has been tied up making the hitch and some other things that are on the must do list. It is going to take a lot longer to make the fixture and get the mill all set up than it will to actually make the final cuts. I still hope to have a bunch of them for MD.
  16. Thanks for the offer Mike. I already picked up a pair at the hardware store, $2 ea, that is cheaper than you could ship them. I already made a set of temporary bumpers that mount with wing nuts, I will weld the casters to that.
  17. There is light at the end of the tunnel. There are only a couple of items left on the must do list and a couple left on the wish list. I just hope that the light is not just a train coming......
  18. Finally, the trailer itself is done. I ended up putting the axle back in the stock location. Picked up a LED lighting kit on sale from HF. I still need to acquire a cooler for the tongue and then make a frame to hold it. Now I just have to get some casters to add to the back bumper and make some kind of bracket to stand it up against the wall and secure it there.
  19. Well I did it. Whether or not IT is right, time will tell. I got some Piobond from the hardware store, It is supposed to remain flexible after drying. It is a rubber cement I used some 80 grit sand paper to rough up the surface real good on the inside of the shell. I then painted on a coat of Pliobond glue. I laid a 1.5 inch wide strip of glass cloth into the wet glue. Then painted on another good coat of the glue. Laid a 3.5 inch wide strip of glass cloth into the wet glue. Painted on another coat of the glue to finish filling the weave of the cloth. All of these layers were done at once with no drying in between.
  20. OK, so I now have no idea what this car topper is made from. It is impervious to MEK, Acetone, lacquer thinner, toluene and PVC pipe cement. It is obviously Vac formed, but I have no clue from what. I did use a heat gun to form the damaged corner back into shape. I think I am back to plan A of scuffing the surface up real good and finding some kind of flexible adhesive and glass cloth laid up on the inside.
  21. A cheap BB gun will get the message across with no permanent damage or the legal issues of a silencer and discharging a firearm within city limits.
  22. Will you foot the bill if I come to visit???
  23. Does it have to have water and be running? Most of the fountains around here are still winterized.
  24. Sounds like time to find the posts for resoldering the connections in the CMU. Yamy had issues with soldering way back then. This is a common issue and is not a difficult fix, if you know how to solder on a PC board. But it is somewhat time consuming to get to.
  25. I tried a heel toe once and did not like it. My poor little brain has been doing it one way for over 30 years and does not break old habits well.
