Just two TLAs to remember. LED and HID. Both pull less power than incandescent and are brighter at the same time. Don't forget to get some light on the sides of the bike either. You can add a lot of LEDs with very little power draw.

Welllllllll........ I have the trailer finished. BUT. I took it for a test pull behind the truck and all seemed fine up to 90. I could not actually see the trailer but I did not feel anything weird, tires and bearings were cool. So I hooked it up to the bike and ran down to the school to do some slow speed drills in the parking lot. After I got a little used to it being there I headed for the highway. At around 60 it was causing the bike to weave slowly back and forth. Not enough that I felt it could take me down but enough to be a concern. I am not sure if this was just because the trailer was empty, Maybe it just needs more tongue weight. I had the tongue weight at about 20 and the empty trailer is about 200 lbs. Once I add the cooler to the tongue that should help if it is a balance issue.

Now I'll really be confused. Those signs are pointing in opposite directions.........

That is a very different way of getting the rear wheel of than what i have used. I have used the method in the tech section where you remove the front wheel to raise the back end up high enough to drop the wheel without removing anything more than the mufflers on the back end. I'm not sure which way is easier. I may try this one next time just to find out.

I tried this on someone I know and first they could not handle the math, then they could not think of a county that starts with D, then could not come up with an animal that starts with K, but was able to come up with orange. With that much coaching I don't think that this test result is valid.

Ummm...... I'm not sure that your rain gear would fit me. I think I've eaten more ice cream than you have.......... And I would hate to see what my internal pics would look like.......

A dog lover, whose dog was a female and "in heat', agreed to keep her neighbors male dog while the neighbors were on vacation. She had a large house and believed that she could keep the two dogs apart. However, as she was drifting off to sleep she heard awful howling and moaning sounds, rushed downstairs and found the dogs locked together, in obvious pain and unable to disengage , as so frequently happens when dogs mate. Unable to separate them , and perplexed as to what to do next, although it was late, she called the vet, who answered in a very grumpy voice. Having explained the problem to him, the vet said , "Hang up the phone and place it down alongside the dogs. I will then call you back and the noise of the ringing will make the male lose his erection and he will be able to withdraw." "Do you think that will work?" she asked. "It just worked for me, " he replied.

I just changed to YES on the calendar. I don't yet know if I can sneak up Friday after work, or just Saturday morning. Either way I have to be home Saturday night to take care of Erikas foot. This will be a good test trip for my trailer and hitch. I still have not had a chance to pull it, and the weather does not look good to even try taking it to work a couple of times before the weekend. I sure hope that you can get those showers out of the horrorcast. I have no real rain gear. Besides, I already had my shower for this month........

I have used brake cleaner to get oil off of brake pads many times. Clean the pads and rotor thoroughly with lots of brake cleaner. BUT more important is to determine why they got oiled and fix that problem.

That's to bad, I even had my BFH packed to help. -
To something dry it is true that the air can have a heating effect on the object. BUT since skin is moist and when you are warm you do (should) perspire to add more moisture, it is the evaporation of that moisture that will lower the skin temperature to well below the air temp. It is a phenomenon that us in the north know all to well as wind chill. If the air temp is a LOT higher than body temp then you are correct that it would be best to insulate yourself from the heat. Up to 100°F it is best to get more air flow to the skin to cool it. I am not sure what the cutoff temp would be between better airflow and insulate from the heat. A lot of that number will be dependent on the individual and the current humidity. If it is over 100°F I ain't going out side except to run from one air conditioner to the next. For me personally, I am very susceptible to heat stroke. So I just avoid heat whenever possible. For me 95°F the bike gets parked and I use a vehicle with AC. Everyone's heat threshold will be different. I am watching this thread with great interest, I need cool Gear when the temp hits 70°F.

Not yet till I get this first one tested and then make up the rest of the bar to see how many good ones I actually get. If I sold them for what it really cost me to make them I would be right up there with the genuine Yami tool. But that was not my goal. I think you are right, I will probably sell the ones I have at a loss just to recoup some of the cost. It was very labor intensive since I do not have access to CNC in my basement. But I did have fun doing it and that was what was important to me. I knew going in that this was not going make me any money. I do not expect to make money from my hobbies, but is nice when they can also defray some of the cost. For this first one I did not heat treat it. this was a pretty tough hunk of 1045 steel to start with and it may not need heat treat. If it does need heat treat I do have the ability in my basement to do a case hardening on it. Time wise the cam profile on the outside was the hard part, Tool wise it was the hex on the inside that was bad. I wore out some very expensive cutting tools making these. I have shipped the first prototype to RandyR to test. I was not going to make any more till I hear back from him as to how it worked out. Are you coming to the WI MD, I might make up another one or two to bring there for show and tell. -

Contact RandyR. He should be getting the first of my new tools to try out in the mail any day now. -
You are so rite. I have often said that they are lucky if they can tell you what happened yesterday. I wish I could find a job where I got paid big money to be wrong most of the time. But I still do look at it, the things that they are sometimes usually close on is the temp and the wind direction. In the winter I have had to ride home in several inches of partly cloudy a few times.

BOB You need to get a hold of Freebird quick to get his contact info for the weatherman. I hope it is not to late to get that horrorcast for the weekend fixed.

Good luck It took me a year of searching before I finally one in the classified section here. I was just about to pull the trigger on this idea when I found the genuine Yamaha one I bought.

I sure hope there are no pics of this critter.

How dare you accuse us of all being a bunch of old Hardlys........, Knuckleheads,,,,, Really?

Just bolt a receiver hitch to the back bumper of the RV and go. Scary as it sounds, Ive seen RVs behind P/Us with boats behind the RV flyin down the interstates here in WI. Backing up is a blast. I once had to back up a P/U with 3 trailers chained behind it. That was fun.

Hmmmm....... I don't know if I can leave mamas foot and the dog alone over night. I was figuring she would be ok for a "few" hours on Saturday.

For cut off wheels I use the Tuff-Grind brand. TG uses a different arbor than Dremel and they sell it either just a wheel or a wheel and arbor. Far superior to any cutoff wheel that Dremel makes. I have never in all the years broken one of these in use. They last so long that a quick change is not needed. I get the 2" wheels, they cut faster and last lots longer.

Whatever you do, do not rev the engine at all while the starter is still engaged.
