  1. Make sure to let them know that you think it might be metric so that they do not just pick the close inch size. Which is what you already have. The 2047 Bering Buddy is the next bigger size from the 1.98 that you said was to loose. http://www.bearingbuddy.com/select.html
  2. I really hate to hear that. Here in Milwaukee the Police Chief has finally publicly recognized that the department has a drinking issue after a lot of Milwaukee P.O.s have been getting ticketed and arrested for OWI. The chief has said that they will be looking into what can be done to reduce the amount of alcoholism on the force. The local Sheriffs Dept has the same problem. Here the police and sheriff do not play well together so they do not have an issue arresting each other for OWI. It makes the news every time too.
  3. Or even easier, take one of your caps in to have them measure it. Since the bearings are an oddball metric size I would assume that there is a good chance the bearing caps are also metric.
  4. OH! OH!
  5. Just spend more time out in the sun. It will break down in about 6 months of direct sun. :rotf:
  6. Generally that is caused by a leak........... Get out your bottle of soapy water and start looking for bubbles.
  7. I would give him a realistic deadline to finish because on that date you will file a claim in court to get ALL of your money back. If he has been running this scam for a while he already knows that the court will back him up since there is no completion date in the contract. Now if you can get him to make one of his promises and then add an appropriate amoount of time to allow for bad weather and get him to put it in writing. Then you would have a good case for court armed with a quote from another reputable contractor to finish and/or fix his work. It might be a good time to pick up one of those spy video cameras that look like a pen in your pocket to have proof of the conversation. The moment he is either done or you have written him off I wold start contacting the BBB and any other local similar organizations. Might save someone else from his BS. Or just tell the Warden "he is all yours" and walk away.............
  8. Just looking at it mathematically. The formula for amps is volts ÷ resistance. So 12V ÷ 0.2Ω = 60 Amps. That sounds about right for starter current.
  9. I have been using baking soda and super glue on model airplanes ever since the super glues first came out back in the late 60s early 70s. It does set up real fast and hard. But a few warnings are in order. That cloud of smoke that shoots out of the joint is cyanide gas. Not real good for you. And just a little will cause some people great respiratory issues and/or burning of the eyes, nose, throat. Because it sets up SO fast it also creates a lot of heat. I have started fires with the heat produced from the reaction. The resultant joint will breakdown in water. No more riding in the rain or frequent washing. (Not that I would ever do that on purpose.) The main ingredient in super glue is also a major ingredient in loctite, and we have all learned what that does to ABS over time. Super glue and many plastics do not play well together, ABS is one of them.
  10. Or just fill it up but make sure you ride for a while to make room for expansion. Oh wait.........then you have to fill it up again.........but at least you got a ride out of it.
  11. Don't you just hate when that happens.
  12. Just because you can hear the pump run does not mean that you are getting gas to the engine. Did you actually test for no spark or just assume that since all else seemed good that it must be no spark. When you are cranking the engine, do you get any tach reading?
  13. Preload means that when the fork is fully extended, ie front wheel off the ground, that the spring is compressed 1 inch from the length it would be if it was not installed and just laying on the floor. To get the 1 inch of preload you put a 1 inch spacer on the top of the spring so that by the time you get the caps back on the spacer has the spring already compressed by 1 inch.
  14. You did not mention if this is his first bike, or just his first big bike. Does he have a motorcycle endorsement on his drivers license. If not then you can legally stop him with just a phone call. But it sounds like you are on the right track with him staying long enough to spend some time in a parking lot to at least get the basics down.
  15. I would rather have our blizzards than those ridiculous temps. Besides Blizzards are delicious, especially the Oreo ones.
  16. Slip and slide would work, so would a soaker hose just to keep things wet. This summer we broke the record high temp and then less than 24 hours later we broke the record low temp. That made for some good t-storms.
  17. Whether it is printed from the original old word document or a PDF of the old document the print will look the same. What you can do is once a document is revised, you can then password protect the old version so that no one can even open it without permission. If people need access to old revisions of the document you can add a watermark in big bold letters across each page that says something like "NOT THE CURRENT DOCUMENT" or just "OBSOLETE" or "SEE NEWER REVISION" these would then be saved as a PDF. This way the docs are still viewable and printable but it will be obvious to anyone that it is not the current document. Yes this can still be defeted by someone that is good with computers but it will take a dedicated effort on their part, it would never be bypassed by accident. If someone does intentionally mess with company documents that is a real cause for disciplinary action, termination and even possible legal action. (Depending on the circumstances of course). In other words you can prevent accidental release of documents but you will need to spend a lot of time and money to prevent malicious intent.
  18. That is a lot of bullet dodging for one week. Don't bother buying a lottery ticket, you used up all of your luck.

    Taurus

All I can say is those deer will be in trouble once I get my CC. (long story best told over ice cream)

    Taurus

I have the Taurus .357 MAG Titanium revolver. (They do not make this model anymore) Not particularly small but very light weight. Just do not try to use any high performance ammo like Cor-Bon or Remington Premium. Any high velocity round will cause gas etching of the Titanium cylinder face. The Gun came with a note attached to not use any ammo with less than a 125g bullet. Even the 125g bullets etched my cylinder face. So now I have to stick with heavy bullets. Now that Wisconsin has finally passed a CC law, (effective Nov 1 2011) I may be in the market for a good CC gun. Next month they are supposed to release the "training" requirements to get the CCL. I will be taking whatever is necessary ASAP.
  21. If your switch just has two terminals then it does not matter which wire goes to which terminal.
  22. OUCH! Your not supposed to do that. But you knew that already. Hope it heals quick and easy.
  23. Thanks for the pics. I sure wish I could have been there to see this all in person. The weather in the pictures sure looked good for the first week of March.......
  24. But did he say what he was going to work on for those 7 days?
  25. Do some more checking. With the bike hot and skipping try pulling plug wires one at a time. this will help you identify exactly which cylinder has the problem. I have to ask the obvious question just cuz no one else did. Are you sure you have the boots tight on the plug? They are a little difficult to get on tight. If the boots are not on all the way, that would explain your arcing to ground.
