My Father took a bad fall
Flyinfool replied to Flyinfool's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Well the latest news is; The bleeding into the brain has stopped, now it is a waiting game for the brain to heal and hope everything comes back. He is still unable to speak but is able to move all body parts on command. They put mashed berries in his mouth but had to tell him to swallow each mouthful. Some of this might just be that he does not like berries. When my mom squeezed his hand and said "I love you" he squeezed back and got a tear in his eye. So we think he is still all in there just trying to find a way back out. The therapist was able to get him to sit up, stand, and take a few steps today. The swelling in his face is down a lot and some of the bruising is starting to diminish so he looks better. The doc said that the cochlea in his right ear is toast and he will have total permanent deafness in that ear. This also means that he will have balance issues. He will be in ICU for at least 2 weeks and another month in the hospital getting PT after that. I think the seriousness of his fall has finally hit home with my mother. She had a rough day today too. She got a utility bill in the mail and panicked. She commented that she has never paid a bill, put gas in a car, or many other things that most of us take for granted. The kids have set up a chauffeur schedule to get my mom back and forth to the hospital. Thanks for all of your prayers and well wishes. At least things have stopped getting worse, Now if we can just start getting things better. -
I got them all correct, does that mean I am really old?

You just keep all of them germs to yourself, I have not had so much as a cold since the big Milwaukee Cryptosporidium outbreak back in '93, and I don't want to start now. Hope you feel better soon enough to go play with your new battery before the SNOW flies.

My father was active and in good health. Yesterday my father (age 78) took a headfirst dive down the basement stairs. My mother heard the fall and he was bleeding and unconscious when she got to him. She called the paramedics (3 ambulances and 8 paramedics showed up) and they were able to revive him and transport him to the local hospital. The local hospital did what they could to stabilize him and then had him transported to a big hospital with neurosurgeons on staff due to bleeding in the brain. What is known so far. many deep lacerations on his head and body. Fractured scull fractured eye socket fractured vertebra in the neck fractured clavicle 3 broken ribs in the back. He is spitting up blood so more testing is coming to determine its cause, as well as a full body scan to see if any other things are broken / damaged. They have not yet looked at much of anything below the chest yet. The doctors have said that none of his injuries appear to be life threatening but they are still very concerned about possible brain damage. When I got to the hospital the doc was asking him questions, he did not know what year it was or who the president is. He did not recognize my mother, my sister or me. He has no recollection of what happened. Most of his right side is not working but the doc said there was no stroke or heart attack that caused the fall. He will be spending some significant time in the neuro ICU.

Yes your computer may have been hijacked is is being used to send out millions of spams. Download and run Malwarebytes, it fixes most bugs. You only need the free version.

I got my 2 bucks for this year. one in WI and one in MI. One was a nice yummy 6 pointer and the other was very tender 1 pointer. I have no good recipes for antlers so if a big 10 and a fork walk up together, I'll take the fork. There are no doe tags in the areas that I hunt or I would have gladly taken one or more of those too. I saw deer every day of the season. These were the only 2 bucks that I saw. I had to study that one pointer for 15 minutes before I decided that it was a legal shooter. It had only one antler and it was 3 1/8 inches long.

Why would there be politics on a MC forum??? icecream

It is in theory very simple but would be expensive to implement. You would tap the relay coil wire near the RR but then you would need to have a diode big enough to handle the full RR output to keep the battery voltage from just holding the relay on at all times. That BIG diode will drop some voltage that could have been used for charging.

I have added a set of KC Hi-Lights that are focused in between driving and fog lights. They really do a great job of lighting up the sides of the road for spotting deer and also fill the dark area just in front of the bike when the HI beam is on. This winter I will be converting these driving lights to HID. I already have a set of H3 HID bulbs and ballasts to put into them. That should really light things up well. I have had these same lights on my truck for many years and have used the 23 year warranty several times (the warranty even covers the H3 bulb) with no issues. KC is a reputable company that has been around for a lot of years.

The RLU is located under the dash cover, once you remove the chrome trim piece and the wind shield it is right there on top and easy to get to. It is just a little bigger than a pack of cigarettes and has an 8 pin connector on a short wire cable.

I am hoping that this year will be the year for me to make it there.

If you haven't already you really need to disable the RLU or it will burn out the motor in the bulb. The RLU senses that the lo beam is out due to low amp draw so it switches to high beam but then detects low current and switches to low beam, It does this continuously till the bulb motor dies. The switching happens so fast that the bulb never actually has time to move, so you may not even notice it happening. You will also want to add a switch to the power side of the HID so that it does not have to fire the ballast when you turn the key on and then it turns off when you hit the starter and has to fire the ballast again. All of this is covered in the install thread that I listed above.

Might have to give them a week or so to figure this one out and get new materials ordered and delivered.

I live 3 blocks from Lake Michigan, The lake looks the same as the ocean and sand is sand, so yes I would call it a beach.

All of the auctions that I have ever been to around here were closed business auctions that were open to the public. used equipment was selling for more, sometimes a LOT more, than what I could go out and buy the exact same make, model, NEW equipment for.

I got a lot faster once I realized that it is OK to let the pointer hit numbers other than the one you are after. My first try was 184 but that was taking the effort to not touch any square other than the one I was after. Once I figured out the rules I dropped to 79 seconds.

We ain't had any snow YET!!! No reason for cabin fever to set in YET!! It was 60 and sunny this weekend and it is supposed to be 60 and sunny again next weekend. Up here 60 and sunny is considered HOT out. If it wasn't hunting season I could head for the beach.
-
HA pure luck!!!! I just did 719 seconds by just leaving the pointer in the middle of the screen and waiting for the boxes to get bored and commit suicide.
-
It is also hunting season, some of us are out doing our part to keep deer off the roads and in the freezer where they belong.

From what I remember there really is no way to hook it up wrong since all of the connectors are polarized and different shapes. Since you do hear or see the bulb moving when you switch from lo to hi, you can be sure that there is power getting to the ballast from the headlight circuit. Just for giggles, check the voltage where you have the power leads hooked up to be sure that you have a good 12V source and a good ground.
