Is there a reasonable limit to how much you can slide the tubes up in the triple tree. With my old springs the top of my windshield just clears the door frame by 1/8 inch. I do not have room to raise my front end and still get the bike into the storage shed where it lives. STOP POSTING LINKS TO MORE STUFF THAT I HAVE TO DO THIS WINTER.:mo money: GEEZ! -
No one else mentioned it yet. 1. Did anyone else see the oncoming bike coming toward both idiots as they started there pass? 2. I do not know for sure about other states but here in WI, it is also illegal to pass 2 vehicles in the same pass. There was not room to have done this either so that means he was intending to pass 2 cars in a no passing zone. The cage should get at least 2 citations, Failure to signal and crossing a yellow line, and the bike at least 3, failure to signal, crossing a yellow line, and passing more than one vehicle at a time. He could have prevented going down by not releasing the rear brake while the rear tire was sliding sideways, as soon as he took his foot off the brake is when the bike high sided. That will happen every time. He was slowed down enough to regain control, but it was his improper braking technique that still made him go down.

Very nice toys. While scale is cool to look at, I do not have near the time and or patience to build stuff like that. My flying style also is not very scale like...... There are a couple of events here in WI every summer with aircraft in that class.

my biggest attention getter is a 10Ga shotgun throwing a 2 oz slug. Very accurate at 100yds. Good for deer in real brushy country.

New problem - oil leak!

It's hard to tell from the pics for sure but that looks more like a valve cover leak. Not a real bad or expensive job to do. Over filled oil will make for oil everywhere. Now that you have the correct oil level, clean it up, don't forget to clean the oil out of the air filter, and keep a close eye on it to see where it starts from. -
So do you think it really was Hummingbird that had it in use for so long? It seems a heck of a coincidence that his trip ends and you get Dottie back....... Just sayin.........

I am not in any super hurry. I will need to make (clean out) a place for it and build whatever will be necessary to get it down the basement steps, SAFELY. I did get a band saw, a 13 x 48 lathe, a horizontal mill, and a vertical mill down there already. I'm runnin out of space. When you are ready to sell please contact me.

Hmmmmmmm........... I have been looking for a small surface grinder to add to my basement. Any idea what that thing weighs? I have been trying to talk the place where I work out of one that has not been used in the 11 years that I have worked here. Hmmmmmmm.......... And your only 200 miles away.......... It does not matter how many amps the regulator can handle, The RR can not put out more amps than the stator can put in to it. If the bike askes for more amps than the stator has to give, then the voltage drops down under the 14V needed for charging and you start to pull power from the battery. The regulator only controls the voltage, it is the stator that has to be able to put out the amps. And the actual output will be dependent on what the bike draws. if the bike only asks for 1 amp, then the stator and RR will only output 1 amp regardless of how much more they can do. Putting in a stator that can deliver more amps than the RR can handle, can cause the magic blue electrical smoke to leave the RR. I know that this is one of those things that non electrical people have a hard time getting their heads around, and I ain't the best splainer out here.

Yup same here, it is not my computer that is slow. This is on a high end computer used for doing 3D CAD work. It is the internet connection that is not much faster than dial-up. I start the vid, hit pause till it is done loading, and then you can view it all the way thru.

The picture that they had on that page was the case for a 2 dvd set. So a dvd does exist, now you just have to find one.

You are supposed to change the oil in a lawnmower????:confused24: I think I "might" have done that once in the last 30 years that I have had this one. I thought that they just run forever........

There was one time that a group of us went on a short trip from Milwaukee to Oshkosh and we decided to do some bike swapping. I ended up on a Harley ultra and the Ultra owner ended up on my bike. He thought he would make me a convert to Harley. I had a hard time getting mine back from him. He just could not understand how a 20 year old bike could be better than his brand new one. But with all of the bashing he did over the years, his ego will not let him get anything other than another Harley every 2 years.
