  1. Last night we had a freak blizzard We got all of a half inch......... All in one night. I think we are sneaking up on 2 inches for the season. Last I checked I was still in Wisconsin...........
  2. Chicken. I showed it to the better half........ ........ she didn't get it.
  3. Obviously the smart phone aint so smart.
  4. I'll take your word for it, I never tried it......
  5. NOPE!!
  6. I'm not OLD enough to need a 2nd gen yet. Now that I have a trailer I may get to find out just how far my butt can go. I have two long (to me) trips planned for this summer. MD and WIMD
  7. I guess you are still new here. If you did a search you would know that 2nd gens are well known to be whining all of the time. Its in there nature. The can't help it. No matter how many baskets they try.......
  8. OK winter is here now so it is back to work on things. I did extend the tongue 18 inches and it looks good. I have not had a chance to take it out for a test pull. Since the trailer lights are so close to the road I have decided that I will add a high mounted center brake light. I might even rig it to also be a running light. Now since this is a 4 wire trailer, that means I will need to make up a circuit to get the brake light to work off of the combination brake/turn signal circuit. I have looked at the modules that you can by for this but they do not work the way I want. All of the modules that I have been able to find are nothing more than 2 diodes to give 2 wires in from the trailer lights and one wire out to the brake light. This will work fine to light up the center brake light when you are actually applying the brake. BUT, with the 2 diode setup, the center brake light will also flash with either turn signal. I do not want this as it may be confusing to someone following me. Sooooo I have designed 2 different circuits, one using relays and one using all solid state components. I will build both and see which one I like better. Either one of these will handle a 10 Amp load so you do not have to use a LED center light. Yes I will post pics and details as I go. I have been reading up on how to make my own printed circuit boards using my laser printer. So I have some playing to do and that playing needed a project. This is it.
  9. Lets not rush things here....... That would be interesting since she won't ride (bad mc crash as a teen passenger). I do not know if I can ride that far on my marshmallow butt. But might be planing a M&E here soon.
  10. Well I can say the the word "YES" was heard many times...........
  11. That just means that you have brain freeze from eating your icecream to fast. Slow down and enjoy....... Or just leave the ice cream to us profesionals
  12. Or do these mean that I was setting a bad example........
  13. Well good then. That means I do not have to worry about my butter pecan or cookies and cream......... They aint on the list.
  14. BUT Sometimes when girls are bad they are really good........... Just sayin........
  15. Once you drill off the heads and get the cover out of the way, drain all of the fluid out of the reservoir and wipe it dry. Then stuff it with a rag or paper towels to keep things out of where they should not be. Apply a drop of Kroil (my favorite) or other real good penetrating oil and let it soak for an hour. Give the end of the screw a few light raps with a small hammer to help the penetrating oil do its thing, along with another drop of Kroil and let it soak some more. THEN you can try the vice grips on the remains of the screw.
  16. Here is the link to my build thread http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=52757
  17. NOPE! No tofu here. But I do have gallons of ice cream and lots of dead deer polish sausage.... Some on here do not need any encouragement to generate lots of hot air..........
  18. I made my own receiver hitch for my '88 because no one else is currently making one. As long as you plan well ahead it is not hard to do.
  19. At least they are well hidden so that no one will know they are there unless you tell them...
  20. When you replace the valve cover gaskets get the gasket set for a, (are you sitting down?) 2nd gen. It will only make you a little slower. The 2nd gen gaskets are a little easier to install. There are different ideas on what to do with the TCI. The one common thing is to not leave it where it is, and replace the diodes. If you wait for one of the diodes to die of old age the TCI is now only good for a boat anchor for a very small boat. Many people put the TCI on top of the airbox. I looked at that and decided it would always be in the way. So I put mine in the left faring. Being in the faring still keeps it dry and I have no reason to go in there for any normal maintenance, so it is not in the way.
  21. And if you are going to use the adapter box, I would still get the isolator. It is just 1 more wire to hook up (power lead to the battery) and about $10 more. Then you are protected from any electrical problem on the trailer and in the future if you ever try to pull a trailer for a friend that is not LED, or decide to add a bunch more lights to your trailer, then you are still covered.
  22. LET THE SNOW BEGIN!!! We are supposed to get our biggest snow storm of the season tonight. They are predicting a whopping trace to a whole half inch by morning. Oh the humanity.........
  23. Hmmmmm On my '96 GMC P/U I am only on the third set of lo beam headlight bulbs, The Hibeams are still original. I am sneeking up on 300K miles and do a LOT of night driving and a lot of off road driving, at night. It takes about 10 minutes to change a bulb. Now brake light / turn signal bulbs seldom last a year. The threads for the screws have worn out they have been in and out so many times.
  24. Well things are not good. After a couple of days of rehab dad had a couple of seizures and is now in worse shape than before. The hospital has said that he is no longer a candidate for rehab as they do not think his condition can improve. He will be moved from the hospital to a hospice in a nursing home in the next couple of days. The nursing home will still continue to work at rehab, but the docs have said that he has just a "slight" chance for any improvement at all. If there is no sign of significant improvement all feeding tubes and IVs will be removed in 30 days per his written wishes. Of course we are hoping for that "slight" chance to come thru but are trying to prepare for the realistic probability. At this point we are praying that the good lord will either have him get better or to take him quickly so that he does not have to continue to suffer.
  25. Yup there are a bunch of threads where people got loctite on the plastic and it just goes away and is very hard to fix. You end up making the hole at least an inch bigger all around the crater that is already there and then get to rebuild a new area from scratch. Brake fluid is just as bad on the plastic parts.
