Well it has to spend more time on the road cuz there sooooo sloooow.......

If I do decide to go commercial making these then I may have to come up with a complete system. what I have now requires the front tubes from a Markland hitch. I have no clue if this will work on a MK I. Maybe at Dons MD I can get a good look at a MK I with a Markland hitch to see if it would use the same receiver or not. More likely is that I will do one here and there as conversions.

I have just over 1,000 LEDs that I can put on the bike. Might need more relays for that.

I checked a bunch of class I hitches at a local store. They were all a 5 inch long receiver tube with the hole at 2.50 inches from both ends. So I followed the lead so that anything from a store should fit.

Well there I was, out in the back yard working on the bike. It has been having some carb issues beyond the abilities of even the magical Seafoam. The next thing I know I'm chasing the dang front tire as it goes rolling down the street. That tire was quick. It managed to stay about 3 feet in front of me for the next 3 hours. That dang tire rolled all over SE WI with me right behind it. I thought I had it once at a gas station but I took my eye off it for just a second and zoom, it was off and rolling down the road again with me in hot pursuit. But I did finally catch it and lock it up in the shed. Now I have a smile on my face and feel like a nap is in order. Watch out for those front tires, they can be sneaky.

Ya gotta do a MD before it gets so full of stuff that there is no room to do maintenance.

.........and in a few weeks we will be hearing about how you body slammed Yammer Dan....... I have not been back in a gym since I broke my leg playing racket ball 12 years ago. I have been thinking of rejoining the club, I did enjoy beating the snot out of that poor little blue ball.

Where is that thread with the repurchase checklist for 1st gens? -
The "reduced rate" is the most effective collection scheme there is. They can and will agree to anything over the phone. As soon as you tell them to send you a written copy of the new deal, the deal is off. Unfortunately it is very common to lie over the phone to the debtor. The collection agency gets a percentage of anything they collect, even a partial collection. The can even send you an unsigned letter and will deny it later claiming that you typed it up yourself. Do not deal with someone that calls you, get a persons name, company name and number to call back. You should be able to google the info to see if it is the hospital or a collection agency You want to deal only with the hospital, the collection agency does not have authority to change your contract with the hospital. As you talk to them get all agreements in writing and signed by someone with the authority to make the deal or the deal does not exist.

85 Venture CMS issue
Flyinfool replied to Bighappy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have never heard of an improper battery monitor job taking out the whole CMS. Just the battery monitor circuit. Not sure what that phantom connector is but there are some connectors in the harness that are unused due to options that were not installed when the bike was built. -
Just another thought. If you have the ability to replace this chip, then you would also have the ability to add the resistor on the circuit board from pin 1 to a +12V circuit run to make it a permanent fix. Hmmmmmm........ What if while replacing the chip you cut the circuit run that goes from the connector to pin one and add in a 6.0V Zener diode so that it will not matter if the wire is used with the probe as designed or connected to +12V. Would it really be that easy?

Solid Motor Mounts revisited
Flyinfool replied to Bob Myers's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Melting point is where the engine falls out. It you reach that temp call the fire dept cuz your garage is on fire. Deflection temp is where things can start to move. Kind of like when you heat steel with a torch to bend it, it doesn't melt but it does get softer. Delrin does the same thing, it gets softer with heat. What I do not know is how hot do the engine mounts get on a 110° degree day, and at what temp will the Delrin start to deflect over time. From the info that Condor posted it looks like we should be OK with the Delrin. I was just looking at McMaster that said the max operating temp was 180°F, it seems that DuPont rates it higher at 210. http://plastics.dupont.com/plastics/dsheets/delrin/DELRIN100NC010.pdf -
Looking good Gary. I was/am seriously considering making my 88 yellow and blacken all of the chrome. Cant wait to see it all together.
