  1. I have had a burned out bulb do that to me. Check that bulb out. I have learned to carry a spare bulb at all times, wrapped in bubble wrap, they always burn out at night where there are no street lights. This would be a good time to get that spare bulb to carry.
  2. We had an 11 yo kid died here recently by walking right into a moving freight train. All phones capable of texting have a GPS built in. It would be very simple software to make the phone so that it can not text while moving.
  3. Ahhhhh Thats different. Vice grip is now your friend.
  4. But he will be on the road and texting soon.......
  5. Go spend the $10 at harbor freight and buy the tool. Is a lot cheaper than damaging the carb, and then you have bits for a lot of different security screws. http://www.harborfreight.com/100-piece-security-bit-set-68457.html
  6. Would love to know your route for 48 in 10.
  7. :sign yeah that: What I did with my Markland hitch. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=52757
  8. If you do not want to re-chrome, I would peel of any loose chrome flakes, clean with navel jelly to remove rust, touch up bare steel spots with a "chrome" paint, Clear coat the whole thing (or keep well waxed) to prevent further rust.
  9. Perfect excuse to go up and do some more screwing on the garage roof......
  10. Who me? Over do something??? This is what I have in mind.
  11. I never got someone to actually throw their phone out the window, but I have had them throw it into the back seat with a proper application of dual Bad Boys. Note to self, I need something much louder than my dual Bad Boys. I want to see a phone come out the window.
  12. ummmmmmm...... I sure ain't never seen a young senior............
  13. You had to be there. See what happens when you let your brother take out brown sugar.
  14. I dont have one of those in my basement or I would have used it. everyone needs more toys.......I mean tools.
  15. :sign yeah that: Mine were $68 for a set of 4 also. I got mine in Feb of this year.
  16. You aint the only one of US that is old.....
  17. Looks good Let us know in a few days how it works.
  18. I was in my back yard trying to launch a kite. I threw the kite up in the air, the wind would catch it for a few seconds, then it would come crashing back down to earth. I tried this a few more times with no success. All the while, my wife is watching from the kitchen window, muttering to herself how men need to be told how to do everything. She opens the window and yelled to me, 'You need a piece of tail.' I turned with a confused look on my face and said, 'Make up your mind. Last night, you told me to go fly a kite.
  19. This one big http://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools/impact-wrenches/3-4-quarter-inch-heavy-duty-impact-wrench-66984.html
  20. I didn't have the patients for penetrating oil to do its thing. The mill was even faster and less work than the hot wrench would have been. I had no intention of reusing that ball anyhow. The nut on mine laughed at my 3/4 drive impact wrench.
  21. THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT VIDEO....... I guess I just have better technology available. I took mine in the basement and put it on the milling machine. 30 seconds later that 1" carbide cutter had turned it into a pile of chips.
  22. You should have come to MD, we were playing musical diaphragms. DO NOT use any tools on the diaphragms unless you want to buy another set. Skydoc showed us how to do it right. No lube needed DO NOT separate the washers that make up the groove. First pull the diaphragm up till the bead is resting on the groove all of the way around. Then using your thumb nail (or a soft blunt object, screw drivers have sharp corners) you press the rubber bead into the groove till it bottoms out, go around twice to be sure it is seated all the way around. You can tell by looking at it when you are there. You could ride up to the WI MD at the end of this month.
  23. I just did my tires last week It took less than 1 hour to get both the front and rear tiers off the bike and even less to get them back on. I do not have a lift. The one time I had the rear tire off while using a lift, it took a lot longer and was actually harder to do. My stealer only wanted $250 to take the wheels of the bike and put them back on.
  24. Here is the whole thread http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=70381
  25. OUCH!! Rough way to learn that lesson. Most of us already know that lesson. I hope your pain helps someone else avoid the same issue. Loctite is almost as bad for plastic too.
