  1. Silly question but I have to ask. If the issue is that it is loud, why are you concentrating on the collector? Have you inspected the mufflers?
  2. Thats the theory. I had Direct TV for a while. But you must have a clear unobstructed view of that satellite. I live very near an international airport, The main runway landing pattern is right thru the line from my property to the satellite. Every 90 seconds or so when a plane comes in, the picture pixalates and I get that terrible popping in the audio. I tried moving the antenna to different places on my property but could not find one that worked. The telephone infrastructure is so old in my area that I can not get Uverse or phone line based cable or internet. I have a huge apartment building across the street and do not get good over the air reception either.
  3. Yes this is completely normal.
  4. I just wish I could get satellite. My ONLY choice is cable, and they know it, and charge accordingly. :mo money:
  5. And here I thought Seafoam was just for engines. I thought that a bag of uncooked rice fixed everything else..... Yea that'll do it, just put it in a bag of uncooked rice for a month and it will be fine.
  6. Camper is still there. Waiting......
  7. Your not a Cubs fan by chance. "Maybe next year" has been their motto forever.
  8. Looking good.
  9. And depending on where you conceal it you might end up shooting something else and singing soprano in a young girls choir. Get it fixed right.
  10. I wonder just how big it could have gone had the guy behind him not popped it.
  11. The valves get tighter with wear, by setting them all on the tight side it means you will need to do them more often. This would be a good thing for the dealer. By setting them to the loose side you will have less chance of getting to tight and burning a valve. I would love to hear WHY yami says they should be on the tight side. On the other hand, The tighter you set them the farther the valve will open and in theory give SLIGHTLY more top end HP and slightly less peak torque. Setting them looser will give you slightly better torque and slightly less top end. But I'll bet you do not spend a whole lot of time a WOT to get the benefit of slightly more HP. I am getting close to doing this on my bike. I do have an older but high end (at the time) video camera, I could video it but would need someone to convert from Hi8 tape or SVHS to digital.
  12. The 2nd gens have been known to have issues with the ignition switch. There is a thread here somewhere on how to bypass it in an emergency. You can do this to verify if the switch is the problem. If it is not the problem at this time this will still be good info to have stored in the back of your head for if/when your switch dies on the road.
  13. Well good luck with this one. I will be watching your progress closely. The only ting I see right off the bat is that you would have to delink the front and rear brakes. But I thought you already did that. Yes testing will be the scarey part. It is one thing to do the testing and calibration in a lab on a brake dyno, but a whole nuther ballgame to do it live on your bike.
  14. Well Rick I see you are moving up to bigger challenges. First it was a little deer and now a cement truck. Maybe you should have found some smaller steps in between. I hate to see what your next target will be..... I'm sure glad you are in a condition to make jokes about this.
  15. I will take one at $31.50.
  16. I have glued the pieces of a lens back together last till I could get a proper replacement. It worked quite well. I used a foam safe CA glue along with an accelerator, from the local hobby shop. Regular CA glue (ie Super Glue) is closely related (chemically) to Loctite and we all know what that does to plastic.......
  17. You could always try hooking up some temporary test lights to the fuel pump, and any other electrical circuit that you may suspect to see if power is shutting off to something. You can make up a cheap and dirty inductive pickup to put on an ignition wire to see if the spark is going away during a shut down. This should help narrow it down to the system causing the problem.
  18. Does that mean we should not tell you about the nekid events in WIS either????
  19. Besides it is only a matter of time and you will have picked up enough knolage to start helping those newer than yourself.
  20. There are a couple of bolts that hold it on. they are really hard to see even if you know where they are. There is a thread from not to long ago with pics to show them.
  21. What has this site come to. Guys discussing guys butts.............
  22. Now we have to get bear nekid to follow this till next June??? And I thought that was only for chat......
  23. I have a 29 inseam and still can't use the bags either, my knees are right up to the faring. If you lower the pegs it will reduce your max lean angle, I have scraped the pegs as is.
