The reason most people change the mufflers is to make more noise. I prefer silent power. -
Yup When I get those emails that are from a hacked email account I always make a point to contact the person ASAP. They have no way of knowing that their email is compromised. When my email was hacked once, the only way I found out was that I have myself as a contact and the spammers sent me an email also. that was my first indication of a problem. In my case the hacker were not so nice, as soon as they were finished sending spam to all of my contacts, they deleted the contents of all folders including sent mail, received mail and even deleted all of my contacts. Fortunately I do back up my contacts. Everyone does back up their computer stuff right. It is the free emails like Yahoo, Hotmail, G mail etc that the spammers attack. They find a real email address and then have a computer try to log into that account, the computer just keeps trying passwords till it gets one that hits. At that point they are into you email account and can then copy all of your contacts to use as new seeds to exploit and also send out their spam from your account, so that the junk mail actually really did come from you. There is nothing you can do to stop this activity. They will continue to use your account till you log in and change the password, blocking them till they have their computer figure out the new password. The more characters in your password, the longer it will take them to hit it.

I really wish you would keep it there. My TV says it is headed this way.

Even if you still had a concern, just do not use the email links and contact the BBB directly. I often get legit emails from my bank and other places that look fishy, I still do not use links in any email, I just go direct to the source to be certain.

I was guessing that it was/is a 2000....

Asking weather or not one is needed, is just as volatile as politics, guns or oil.

That sure does look like someone we know from Illinois.

You can get those from Digi-Key. -
I have this one. I have not flipped over the trailer or dumped the the bike to try it out, but so far it has been no issue.

Glad it worked out and was not a lot of trouble. Yes there are still some honest people left in this world.

Whicjh would be better? Solar vs 110 volt?

The lithium polymer batteries do not like cold. They loose a lot of power fast when they get cold and also do not charge well when cold. I would be concerned about brightness and duration in the winter. If you already have some power in the garage, a couple of lights does not sound like it should push anything over the edge where you need a complete rewire, unless of course you were just looking for an excuse to rewire anyhow. -
I hope they aint headed here. It was 63 today but is headed for zero and lots of snow tomorrow.

I have the HF trailer. I made some brackets that attach to the back of the trailer so that I can stand it up on its back bumper and there are wheels on the brackets that let me roll it sideways to slip it in and out of the space between the shed and the house. It is stored standing up leaning against the wall.

The "NO QUESTION IS STUPID " rule is in effect here...
Flyinfool replied to Barrycuda's topic in Watering Hole
I didn't really mean to yell so loud, but there is story after story of disintegrated fairings and other plastic parts due to loctite, on this and other forums. -
A lot also depends on where you live. There are some neighborhoods where it does not matter how many locks you have. It will be gone. Other neighborhoods people don't even know if the key can be removed from the ignition, because they never tried. As for me, where I live, I just lock the trunk and bags and keep the key with me. At night it is stuffed into a small storage shed along with all of the yard tools.

A few points to touch on. Loctite Loctite is a specific thread locker brand name. Not all brands are equal or even use the same colors for the same strength. It is best to use the actual P/N of loctite since there are over 50 Loctite products and only 7 colors to go around. What is normally used in our applications is; Blue - Loctite 242 (Can be disassembled with hand tools) Red - Loctite 262 (Requires 400° heat for disassembly) Green - Loctite 290 (thread locker for already assembled fasteners) Green - Loctite 620 (Bearing retainer) (some use this as a permanent thread locker) It was only mentioned once but is extremely important. DO NOT GET ANY THREAD LOCKER ANYWHERE NEAR PLASTIC. Thread lockers will destroy plastic, it does not even have to touch the plastic, just the nearby fumes will do damage. Oil; Any brand will work if you change oil regularly. VERY IMPORTANT - The oil must be made for a motorcycle wet clutch. If it does not say for use with a motorcycle wet clutch, do not use it. Filter; I use the OEM filter. Tires; I carry a patch kit and an air pump. I get a new kit every year because they dry out and don't work as well when they get old. -

The fuel sender is not very accurate for trying to calculate MPG. If you get a flow meter to put in the gas line you can get very accurate results. From the speedo and the flow meter you can do instantaneous and/or average MPG. -
With a "regulated" speed in the city of 12.5 MPH Max. Panic stops may not be an issue, but you may get run over by not being able to get out of the way. It also has a max speed of 25MPH for "off road" use. Production starts January 2013!

To say the same thing another way. Since the ring gear is connected directly to the rear wheel it will turn at the same rpm regardless of gear ratio. since the pinion is meshed directly with the ring gear its speed will be directly proportional to the wheel speed. So the speedometer sensor needs to see 33 teeth go by to know that the rear wheel has made one complete revolution. If you have the stock gears with the 10 tooth pinion, the pinion will make 3.33 revolutions for every complete revolution of the rear wheel. in this same time and distance there are 33 gear teeth that went past the sensor. If you change to the vmax gears with a 9 tooth pinion then the pinion will make 3.66 revolutions in the same time and distance and there will still have been 33 teeth go past the sensor. If the sensor was reading drive shaft rpm then there would be a calibration issue, but it is not reading rpm, it is reading teeth, so there is no issue. I know that gear ratios are hard to wrap your head around sometimes. I hope this helps.
