    That may be my next acquisition, except in 50AE. I have 22, 380, 9mm, 357, 40, 44, 45, handguns, I like them all, they each have their purpose.

    I have not seen a 1st gen that is well lit yet, so I am flying as blind as you are. I have over 1,000 LEDs sitting in a box looking for a home. I already have 168 LEDs on the back and I haven't even started yet. The LEOs around here are real picky about lights, so I will have "mostly" red on the back half of the bike and "mostly" yellow on the front half.

    As mentioned if the cut the strap the helmet is no use to anyone. The helmet manufacturers will not sell a new replacement strap or other safety related parts. Or at least Shoi will not, I tried, they said no way.

    I don't make the rules, I don't have to agree with the rules, I just have to follow them. I'm just saying that it is done by some companies, 2 that I have worked for over the years, especially when they are trying to not call attention to a change, I do not know if Yamaha is one of them.

    Never go by color alone. Loctite has over 50 formulations and only 7 colors. You want #242 Loctite, which does happen to be blue.

    I know that in 2 months when I go to start the bike I will pay for this, but my Yuasa that was in the bike when I bought it 6 years ago was still starting fine last fall. Ok I'll start battery shopping now..........

    I don't know if Yamaha does it also, but on the machines built where I work, if a part is changed to improve function but is still fully interchangeable with older equipment, the part number does not change. So in our case if we had reduced spring pressure to fix an issue and that same fix would help older machines we would not change the number but might put out a bulletin recommending that that part be replaced with a new part if any service was ever done in that area.

    ONLY 119 LEDs. I have 168 installed and I have not even started. I have 1300 more LEDs looking for a new home.

    The hitch from an 83 will not fit on an 86. I remember that add all of the hitch parts were clearly shown in the add. They would not be hard to fab if you had a set to copy. It would take a while to try to figure out the dimensions and weird angles just by measuring up the bike. Before I mounted mine up I was considering making a complete hitch setup by copying the Markland one that I had. I decided it would be to much of a PITA and cost to make the fixtures to be able to weld everything at the correct angles.

    I guess you really are the unluckiest person to be able to drop that pin and have it find its way down that hole. Maybe you should go buy a lottery ticket, you just used up all of your bad luck. Glad you found it, Would hate to see what would happen if it found its way to a gear:scared:

    :sign yeah that: OHHhhhh...... Someone beat me to an "As long as you're in there........" When I did mine I had to replace the plastic top of the thermostat housing because it had warped from the heat of being plastic right next to the exhaust pipe. The leaking thermo housing was what I went into that area for, and the starter upgrade was my "As long as you're in there........", Along with the other stuff that Snaggle mentioned.

    I voted 0-50. 50 is about right for my marshmallow butt. If the missus is able to come, her but is even more delicate than mine. I ride most every day in the summer, I would like to be able to do more relaxing, meeting folks and BSing.

    :sign yeah that: I was thinking this very same thing when you said you heard a metallic clink clink. The magnets that are in the flywheel are quite strong and your pin is likely to be stuck to it somewhere.

    You could try to go fishing in the case with a small magnetic pickup tool. If it did bounce into the case it should not have gone far. Are you sure it was there in the first place? Or are we thinking two different pins.
