Yup this is the best riding weather of the year. High 30s to low 40s in the morning and highs of mid 50s. It really don't get any better than that. Fall colors are just a bit past peak right now but still gorgeous. You can have your 80s, by mid 80s I'm starting to think about parking till it cools off. With the 40s and 50s I can be very comfy with all the gear. I can only take off so much to cool down for riding before I get arrested........

It takes more than just pride in ones work. I take great pride in what I do, But my paint still always comes out crappy, at least by my standards. There must also be a lot of skill and knowledge involved that I seem to be lacking.

So far I have caught myself every time I was loosing situational awareness and have not had anything bad happen yet. Maybe it is because most of my riding is in heavy city traffic where I just know that I do not have time to allow any form distraction. Was 31 when I left the house this morning. Just have to be careful of the frosty leaves in the twisties. I don't have any heated gear, I just look like a BIG pumpkin wearing all of my Blaze Orange Gortex hunting gear. Keeps me toasty warm down to 0 for riding or -25 hunting. Saw an 8 point and a 10 point fighting along side the road, Had to stop and watch that show. A month ago those same two bucks were buddies and I passed between them as they flew across the road. But then I did add Seafoam and Stabil to the tank when I filled up this morning. It is that time of year when any ride could be the last of the season. My bike gets parked till spring, as soon as the first salt truck hits the roads.

My parents phone number had all of the same digits as a local pizza joint. Just reverse the digits on each side of the dash. Of course most of the call came in right around dinner time. It did not take long before they just started to take the rush carryout orders. I'm sure that pizza joint had a lot of POed customers when they got there and there was no pizza. Since it was a national chain with around a dozen shops in the metro area. It was probably taking a lot of time to call around to try to figure out which store the person called.

You can get an idea of how much room you will need for your 2 bikes. Park them side by side in the driveway and draw a chalk line around the outer most points on both of them. this will give you an idea on what you need in your specific case. OR Draw a 5 x 10 rectangle and see if you can figure a way to get both bikes COMPLETELY within that rectangle. I am thinking that to get both bikes in there, you will have to have them both on an angle. The expanded metal ramps do have a lot of wind resistance. In some cases they can have even more wind resistance than a solid ramp would. BUT, since this will be getting pulled by a full size van. there should not be all that much air going thru the ramp. Same with having the bikes angled, the van will block most of the wind which will help both of the the MPGs.

I missed this in the original post. If they are usable as reversing lights, this means that they are white LEDs, When converting to LED you ALWAYS want the LED color to match the color of the lens or the color of the needed function. White LEDs behind a colored lens will always give poor results.

As long as you are going to Advance Auto, charge up you old car battery and have them load test it for free, then you will know if it is worth storing some more. Advance Auto will give you a $5 gift card for each of the old batteries. Check your local yellow pages to see if you have a battery manufacturer in your area, they pay the best prices for old junk batteries. I got $12 for my old MC battery and $15 for an old car battery.

It is a common failure mode for a battery to read normal voltage with just the meter and no other load, but then the voltage just is not there under load. Now with the starter on the bench, there is still not much of a load. Best is to have the battery load tested. Yup there were a couple of posts that would have saved you from pulling the starter.
