What I have gathered from reading about the whine for many years is that some oils will help some bikes. BUT the oil that helps bike A may not help bike B, and the oil that helps bike B may not help bike A. The only thing I have been able to gather is to keep trying different oils till you find the one that YOUR bike likes. There are a lot of oil threads out there, I do not think there is a "bad" name brand oil available. Regardless of oil used, we just do not hear of oil related issues on these engines.

Have you checked the aiming of the headlight? I have never been able to replace a headlight bulb without having to at least tweak the aiming. some bulbs required very large adjustments.

Oh sure, grab the same date (March 15) that the Milwaukee M & E is scheduled for.......

Did My First Carb Sync - Now a ?

Did you install the restriction tubes. The restrictors do help to calm down the bouncing, but do not eliminate it. -
Clicking when hitting brake
Flyinfool replied to Ventureless's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
When you say "clicking", are you referring to a single click when the brake ia applied or a series of clicks while holding the brake on? A single click should be the Brake Light Relay doing its thing and would be completely normal. A series of clicks would be something to track down as a possible problem. -
In front of a crowd of ice cream eaters no less...... ....Oh the indignity.......

You are close Don. They do get tighter with age. But it is not from shim or cam wear, that would open them up more. The reason they get tighter is that the valve to head surfaces wear causing the valve to seat deeper into the head. As this surface wears you can get to the point of zero clearance where the valve will no longer close completely. This can burn up the valve. So bigger clearance is better.

Is this the kind that are almost invisible in daylight but reflect at night? Something like this? http://www.streetglo.net/streetglo_files/helmet.flame.decal.htm

The biggest thing I like about onstar is to monitor the other half's car or be able to locate her when she is lost and has no idea where she is. It tells me about oil life, tire pressure, MPG, fuel Level. The Connections and Directions is useless. You are paying $100 per year for a GPS that can't find anything. I tried it 5 times during the trial period. It was not able to find any of my destinations. One destination was a house address that is third generation, not a new address. Another was a hotel that is 15 years old, no record of "new" businesses. The other times it tried to send me down roads that did not exist. My old bottom of the line Garmin had no problem finding and getting me to any of them.

COP (coil over plug) ignition
Flyinfool replied to Rosie1965's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The resistance is the easy part, but most inexpensive multimeters are not accurate enough at that low of resistance to determine what resistance is needed. Then you would need to figure out the amperage going through the coil to determine the needed wattage of resistor. A peak reading DC clamp on meter will easily get you that number. Or you could just calculate it based on resistance and voltage and ignore impedance. As to the type of resistor, I would guess that you would want a non inductive type like a carbon resistor, a wire wound type may cause other issues with its added inductance. -
All vehicles are invisible to other drivers. I drive a full size Chevy P/U, extended cab, 8 foot box, oversize cap. it is 7 feet high, 22 feet long, 7 feet wide and all bright fire red. Cars still pull out in front of me, cut me off, and drive as if I'm invisible. Maybe they just are not looking or just don't care. But I have noticed, the more expensive the vehicle, the less courteous the driver.

In a desolate area the wolves may very well help the ecology. But humans and large predators will never mix well in any area that they must interact.

Since it is running, Start with Seafoam before you go ripping things apart. I guess I am not good at naming, I have truck, car and bike......

No you have that all wrong. BIEBER is the prize. You get him back. Winner take all.

They have also reintroduced the wolf to Wisconsin. I have not noticed any other animals increase in number. What I have noticed is the deer population is nearly gone, so now the farmers are loosing a lot of livestock to wolves. The wolf population in WI has exploded and gone from the endangered species list directly to a wolf hunting season because the wolf population is way above what is believed to be sustainable. The wolves are also coming into residential areas to grab pets. I worry about young children and elderly walkers. I could hold my own against them, but I know how, most people do not have that knowledge or ability especially kids.

I have to agree with Don. It might be fun for a couple of minutes. With the bore and stroke that it has, it must be a very high revving engine. with as close as the foot pegs are to the seats, you would have to break both of my legs and maybe a few other parts to get me on it.

YUP There are chemicals used in mining to fracture rock with no noise, no vibration, no spark or flame, no dust. no flying debris. It is a chemical that when mixed with water will expand enough to exert over 15,000psi when confined. It appears that there is something white in the bottom of each glass before the pour and there is that white sludge clinging in the glass at the end of each pour.

It is not just the Prius that I have noticed, It seems to be all expensive luxury cars. Many people that can afford one are of the mindset that they are better than anyone else and everyone should get out of their way. I have come to the conclusion that cars like BMW, Mercedes, Cadillacs all come from the factory with no turn signals, and have a factory installed brain sucker built into the headrest.

When you put the new bit in, you do not have to crank on that nut, just snug it good. That is why the wrench that comes with the tool is only about 2.5 inches long and stamped out of sheet metal. The wimpy wrench makes it hard to over tighten.
-
There is supposed to be a nut on that coarse thread at the nose of the tool. The nut holds the 2 halves of the plastic body together. If the nut is not there the silver button will just push out and let the shaft turn. If you no longer have the nut, you could put a hose clamp on the nose of the tool to hold it together, or order a new nut from your local hobby shop or direct from Dremel.

I dont know who won yet, it has not been on tv yet........

Normal right hand thread. Righty tighty lefty loosy. I notice the plastic collar is missing on the end. that collar must be there to hold the lock button in place.

Glad its working out. Now behave yourself......
