  1. Did it hurt?
  2. I have not installed it yet, but I did buy a set of H3 HID bulbs to put into my driving lights. The HIDs are 35W the halogens are 55 so I will save a total of 40W and should have much more light. Since I have not installed them yet I do not know how they will focus.
  3. Sheesh, the one time I behave myself........ I still get dragged in kicking and screaming. But I do vote in every single election no matter how small the issues or insignificant the office. I had that lesson early in my adult life, and learned it well. Ya know old Pucster, I'm gettin tired of hauling snow over the lake for you, its been a long winter, I was gonna give it a rest, but now we will just have to see if I still have one more left in me...... And this 60° and sunny stuff that is here right now, I'm gonna keep that on this side of the lake. :rasberry: :rasberry:
  4. Only one Rum Ball??? I ate most of the box last time....... Slept real good.......
  5. You know you really can not leave, You will be back, everyone comes back. Where else can you get this level of harassment from people that care?
  6. If you are on the bottom edge of the recommended clearance you should adjust it while you are in there. The clearances get smaller with wear. If they get to small you can burn a valve.
  7. Your welcome It was purely a good guess on my part. Now I will be curious to see how you like it at night. Lighting up the road is the bottom line.
  8. Is this post going to catch up to WHY?
  9. But it would be OK if you had a needle nose......
  10. I will even bring some of my nice shiny polished stainless steel side stand plates to hand out for free to anyone that asks for 1 or 3. Looking forward to it.
  11. Well chips have been flying for a couple of days now. I got the first 2 tools done. The rest will happen much more quickly now. The last couple of steps take about a half hour each tool. I started with a 9 lb bar of steel and it is down to about 2 lbs left. The rest is a big pile of chips in my shop vac. Just about ready to start shipping. The first batch will ship Monday. FYI Canada add $5 for First Class International Mail (no tracking or insurance, unknown delivery time), or $15 for Priority International Mail (tracking, insurance, 6-8 days). Either way I will need your phone and email for the customs papers.
  12. I could threaten to send snow or other bad weather to the next poster in this thread. Ask ol Cowpuc how that works........
  13. From the pics it looks like the rubber boot covers most of the heatsink on the bulb. Even with the fan will there be enough airflow over the heat sink? Those Crees do get toasty.
  14. Bite all of us. :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: I told ya......... Don't believe me when I tells ya stuff .........
  15. Here in Milwaukee they have a lot of bicycle patrols. They seem unable to figure out why flat black bicycles ridden by people wearing black keep getting run over at night.
  16. I think I would be so confused...... I have heard of such a thing but never saw one in real life. So is it left foot clutch? Right foot rear brake? right hand throttle and front brake? left hand shifter on tank? So coming to a stop on gravel you would be braking with the right foot and clutching with the left foot and balancing ????? I guess you would have to shift into neutral before you were stopped so you could plan to land on your left foot. then after your stopped shift weight to right foot so you can use the clutch to get going. Just my poor little frozen brain babbling on here. I have no clue what I am talking about.
  17. Well then head over to the Scavenger Hunt thread, they have been looking for a clown for a long time.......
  18. Flyinfool

    Why?

Why is Bob spelled backwards not boB?
  19. We'll see...... I'm don't want to know how your bones feel..... When you say it sounds loose on the center stand are you talking about running it in gear while on the center stand or just moving it by hand?
  20. I guess it all depends on the threads being killed. Option 1: If it a fun thread that you are killing then that would be a bad thing, it could make you part of the fun police. Option 2: On the other hand if it is a technical thread that you are "killing", it could just mean that you have throughly answered the question and nothing more needs to be said on the issue at hand. This could be a good thing. Option 3: But then it could also mean that you are that last pursuer of a topic that everyone else has lost interest in. Whether I am or not I like to consider that I am in option 2 all the time..... Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.
  21. All of the shims that I have looked at looked like the marking was etched. If the marking is gone, some bozo probably installed the shim with the marking up instead of down. But this is just a WAG on my part.
  22. Just to explore another avenue. How are you mounting the RR? Is it mounted to something to act as a heat sink? Is it mounted where it will get good cool air flow? The stock RR on the 1st gen is mounted to flat spot on the frame that gives additional heat sink capacity.
  23. I sure wish I could hear that noise again........ But it is going to snow here tonight, I'll ship some right over for you......
  24. The shims out of a salvaged bike will give you a start on a kit, but probably not a good start. I have an engine from an 85, there were only 3 different sizes in that engine and they were all close together, and most were all the same size. But now that I have added a surface grinder to my basement I can have any in between sizes that I want or feel I need.
