  1. When I look at the bottom of the main forum page and I see..... of the 124 guests is there any way to know how many are real people and how many are just bots surfing thru? I have always wondered this. On the day that there was 6K+ users, how many were members, how many were people and how many were bots.
  2. :rotf: :rotf: OUCH!!!!! That one hurt........ Don't give him a target to aspire to.........
  3. I am not sure on the 83, but on the newer ones there is a reserve position on the valve at the bottom of the tank. Almost everyone just leaves it on reserve all of the time since it is not something that you can reach while riding. The gas gauge shows empty when you have about 1 gallon of fuel left in the tank. You can use this as your reserve. When the last bar on the fuel gage goes out I stop at the next station I come across. You can easily test this by stapping a fuel jug onto the bike and go for a ride until the gage reads empty, and then see how much farther you can go till it is out. You then have some gas with you to get to a station to fill it.
  4. When you did the de-link, Did you remove the proportioning valve from the rear MC, and reroute the rear brake line to the port on the rear MC that used to go to the front? I also had to adjust the height of the break peddle to give me the braking feel that I wanted. Enough that I can get anywhere up to and including locking the rear wheel. But it will only lock if I make an effort to do so. Since the rear is now only applying brakes to the rear wheel and not the rear and front it will feel like there is a lot less braking power, because there is a lot less braking power. I did the de-link and I can easily lock the rear wheel if I wish.
  5. Darn you Puc. They may say that laughter heals the sole. But it is hell on a belly full of stitches. You know, with just a little tweaking, I can make the SNOW a real fine grain type so that it is more like white sand, then add in a good stiff wind so that it burns just like if it were hot, Yes I think that will help? Off to make some adjustments, Just for my buddy Puc. I may have to practice some to get it just right. Still wishing the best for you and keeping you in my prayers.
  6. The CMS has nothing to do with the turn signals. The Turn signals and the self canceling are in a separate module that also includes the start relay. If you go to an LED friendly flasher you will loose the self canceling. this will require changes to the bikes wire harness to implement because you will want to retain the part of stock flasher that allows you to start the bike. I am still working on a way to keep the self cancle and also add a LED friendly flasher, I have not found an easy way to do this yet, so don't wait for me on this issue unless you have LOTS of time to wait. This one is not even near the top of my todo list.
  7. This is correct.
  8. If you select the font, size, and color before you start typing then you do not have to select the text to change. BUT, If you select font size and color and then click in the text box before you start typing it will revert back to the default. I have not yet found a place where I can set my default Font, size and or color. I have to make the changes each time I start a post.
  9. This is a test This is only a test If this were anything but a test There would be something useful on here. I did not have to rehighlight for each change. I highlighted the text then selected the font, color and size, I tried different orders of selecting font, color, and size, each time and it made no difference, it always worked as expected.
  10. Good thing I cant count, that way I can not be held acountable....... I still say Ol Puc started it.......... Its all his fault, he dared me...... then he me and then he even
  11. See what ol Puc is doing again he is me again. Does he know that poking a stick at a snowman can get snow on the stick....... I for one hope Puc never grows up......... I don't want to be the only one that still acts like a 12 year old. Don't forget last winter, managed to have snow on the ground in ALL 50 states at the same time......... No place is truly safe.
  12. Cool You da man! Take today off to go spend with your Honey.
  13. Well since we all can not travel to a place covered in white sand, I'll do my best to at least make everything white......... Hey 50% is better than nuttin....... I'm glad that you found a road to follow toward getting better, and as much as I know how much you like to, don't take too many detours off of this new road to travel. You really do want to get to this destination as quick as possible. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
  14. The Vanilla Pudding Robbery - true story [TABLE] [TR] [TD] Excerpted from an article which appeared in The Newfoundland Times about a bank robbery on March 2. Once inside the bank shortly after midnight, their efforts at disabling the security system got underway immediately. The robbers, who expected to find one or two large safes filled with cash & valuables, were surprised to see hundreds of smaller safes throughout the bank. The robbers cracked the first safe's combination, and inside they found only a small bowl of vanilla pudding.. As recorded on the bank's audio tape system, one robber said, 'At least we'll have a bit to eat.' The robbers opened up a second safe, and it also contained nothing but vanilla pudding. The process continued until all safes were opened. They did not find one pound sterling, a diamond, or an ounce of gold. Instead, all the safes contained covered little bowls of pudding. Disappointed, the robbers made a quiet exit, each leaving with nothing more than a queasy, uncomfortably full stomach.. The newspaper headline read: SPERM BANK ROBBED EARLY THIS MORNING'.... 16. Ya know Puc, I may need some help with the machine. It does use heat as its power source. A foundry may be a perfect heat source. ANd since the machine is built out of unobtainium, it can not be melted by any source, so that foundry would be just perfect so see what it can really do.
  17. That sure sounds like old seal behavior. Mine took many hours of cooling before it would loos the first drop. and it has to be pretty cool out. It took me 2 years to finally catch mine in the act and identify the leak. Just watch the overflow to keep it full and it is still ride able.
  18. Well I went to see the surgen. He said it looks great. He also said that they found a tumor while they were in there so they took that out too "as long as he was in there". (I wonder if he has been reading my posts on this site.....) Pathology said it was completely benign, Whew! Next Tuesday I go to see the new heart doc to see about getting that fixed. Yes I have been explained a bunch of possible and realistic scenarios, I did not really like any of them.....
  19. In the settings there used to be a place where you can select which forums are shown when you use "New Posts" or "Today's Posts". I can not find the place to set that, Is it still there and I am just old and blind?
  20. I hear ya. My poor bike has been parked for a month now which was bad enough, but now all I have been able to do for the last week is to hold down the recliner and harass people on this site or stare at the idiot box. I completely understand where you are coming from. I hope you can get better quick and sneak in a ride or two before the snow flies.
  21. That is a common problem with 29 year old O-rings. The most common one is the drain valve. but it could also be the ones on the thermostat housing or water pump tube. The Oring gets hard and shrinks with age. When the bike is warm the Oring softens and grows so it stays sealed while warm, once it gets cold the Oring shrinks and hardens and lets a bit of coolant leak out. If it is the drain valve, it is a very quick easy fix. Skydoc_17 sells a kit to do this.
