  1. So the solution is obvious, leave the faring off. Maybe you just had something not plugged in tight and now it is. Don't ya just love a good old electrical problem that becomes an intermittent one.......
  2. Got store credit to stock the aquarium up with more fish.
  3. Well to all of you that are working holidays to provide essential services. I thank you. For all of US that are working holidays just because the boss is a jacka$$. You have my sympathy. For those of you that are working holidays just for the overtime pay, Congratulations, buy more toys.
  4. Good luck with the $5 fix.
  5. The eBay and HF crimpers are ok in a pinch. The more expensive one you originally listed is much better and will crimp more types of terminals. Different types of terminals need a different crimp. There is no such thing as one crimper to do it all. The ratcheting ones are by far the best because they will always apply the same pressure to the crimp, so once adjusted correctly, every crimp will be perfect. The pliers type it is easy to get to much or to little pressure from crimp to crimp. I have worked on many electrical issues that came down to a bad crimp from a pliers type crimper.
  6. Well Merry Christmas to you to old lazy one........ I think you need more snow to pep you up......
  7. When you change a stator you will need 2 gaskets and a crush washer. You have to pull the middle gear cover before you can get to the the stator cover. The bottom screw of the middle gear cover has a crush washer under the screw head. If you forget this washer it WILL leak oil.You will also need a tube of black RTV sealant to seal up where the wires come thru the cover. You can get a Higher output stator, BUT none of the HO stators seem to live as long as the OEM stator, AND if you HO stator you must also go with a HO RR to realize the full benifit of the HO stator. Stators and RRs can be had from Skydoc_17 on this site.
  8. It does sound like a module. a burned out bulb should not disable or mess up any other lights, that is a MAJOR safety issue. One very important thing is that the new bulb Must be clean. One fingerprint or even a smudge of dirt or oil will cause an early burn out. Clean the bulbs with alcohol and a clean cloth before installation and then make sure NOTHING touches the bulb while putting it in.
  9. Actually Midnight does not occur at 23:59, it occurs at 0:00:00.00. Midnight is the very first moment of the new day. SOOOOoooooo That means that if he leaves at midnight on the 31st. it will take a full day for him to return on Jan 1st. Enjoy your day off. We will...... Politics is never based on real verifiable data............If it was than everything would not require much discussion and everyone would agree with everything.
  10. Welcome to the asylum. And yes you do have to get into a LONG line to get to be the pres of the computer dummies club. Saddlebum only thinks he is the pres, that position must be earned.
  11. Not knowing what the connector you found is, continuity may be a good thing. The 2 small wires coming out of the stator cover are probably the pickup coil for the ignition timing where a very low resistance would be a good thing. Yes you can do all of the tests at the RR end of the stator wires. On the 2nd gens the charging system is electrically the same as the 1st gen, but everything is in different places so I can not help you find the parts you are looking for, I have a 1st gen. Just have to follow the wires till you get there.
  12. You got the wrong 3 pin connector. The one you are after has much bigger wires, and all 3 wires are the same color. Usually white or yellow.
  13. I am one of those that is spending Christmas Eve at work (surfing the web) while the rest of my family is eating and laughing and opening presents. But at least I was mean enough to not deliver my stuff ahead of time. All of those that are getting stuff from me will have to wait until I am there.
  14. Merry Christmas to you to. Ohh, and be careful what you wish for......... .........you never know who is listening........
  15. Yes you are blessed in so many ways.
  16. Sure an invalid link, more battery acid..........
  17. Yes!
  18. I:moon: could have gone the rest of my life without that mental picture. Now I have to go scrub my brain with battery acid......
  19. I can tell that poor ol Puc is ailin. All of that typin and not one mention of me or . I mean that would be as unfathomable as Yammer Dan ever getting a 2ng gen, Oh wait, I think that hell already froze over........ Next some one is going to tell me that the Minnesota Vikings won the super bowl. Get better buddy......
  20. Here ya go http://www.venturerider.org/forum/general-tech-library-read-only-/81297-testing-battery-charging.html
  21. As mentioned humidity will be your biggest battle. I have a 150 gallon aquarium which is no where near the surface area or temperature of a hot tub. I have to run the biggest dehumidifier I could find and I have to run it year round or everything in the house stays wet. As far as the hot tub, I looked at some, but chickened out with the humidity issues.
  22. :sign yeah that: If you are going thru the efffort to pull the TCI out, while you have it out take a peek inside. There are 8 diodes in there that corrode over time. IF you replace them while they are still working, all is good. If any one of those 8 diodes fail, the whole TCI is junk instantly. There are a few posts with instructions and required parts to do this.
  23. Geeze Puc I sure do remember all to well getting my injectors cleaned and motor pics. They even came up with a way to shoot video of the running motor, AND this fool contraption could even measure the displacement while the motor was running. Only 138 RPM, they had me revved up to 196 on that silly treadmill. Incline my a$$, that puppy was going straight up and it weren't to heaven, at least not fer me.......And it was running so fast there was smoke coming off my sneakers. Prayers up that they find what all is ailing ya.
  24. And that is not even a record for the shortest life of a new vehicle. Had a local kid bought a V65 Magna back when they were the new thing, He did not even make it out of the parking lot before he ran it up a light post. He revved it up and let the clutch fly........
  25. Don that is just way to simple of a concept for the gubernment to comprehend.......
