I realize that you as the Admin can go back to look at chat activity and I can go back to look at my past activity. But others can not go back to see what happened while they were not logged in. At least not that I know of.

OK you asked for it. I can see advantages and disadvantages to both. Neither is perfect. Neither is terrible. Flash Chat Pros Stable. It kicks people out less often. Has the ability to attach pics and flash emotions. Runs in a separate window. What is said in chat stays in chat and is not visible to others that come in after a comment is made. Cons Someone has to sit in a chat room all alone until someone else shows up to chat to get it started. Shout box Pros You can post something and it will sit there for anyone to see even if you leave the Shoutbox, so you can converse with out both parties present. Cons Can not post pics or emotions. I am normally in the "New Posts" window, so I have to open a separate window for Shoutbox anyhow. To many system messages about post counts and likes/thanks. Hard to carry on a conversation when it keeps booting us out. Then we end up in the old chat anyhow. The history shows up forever viewable by anyone. Chat conversations are sometimes a little more personal than what should be in an open forum. Yes I know I have the same feature listed as both a pro and a con. I am not sure where I stand on it yet, AND it is one of the bigger deals to me. I guess at this point i am still using old chat to actually carry on a conversation and Shoutbox more as a forum to post comments in. It may take a while yet to sort out the 2 versions.

Why do I keep getting logged out every half hour?
Flyinfool replied to syscrusher's topic in Watering Hole
Go to the top of your screen, there should be the word "Help". Click on the word "Help". it should open up more options, one of these will have the word "About" in it. Click on the line that has the word "About" in it. This will open up a window that will tell you which browser you are using and which version of it you have. -

Get a cheap digital meter. The $4 harbor Freight one is fine. Set it to measure amps. disconnect the negative battery terminal. Connect the red meter lead to the cable that you just removed from the battery. Connect the black lead to the battery Negative. Ideally the meter should read zero. Start pulling fuses one at a time until you find the one that makes the meter reading drop. That is a circuit that is drawing power. Now you can figure out what on that circuit is drawing the power. Do not forget to pull the in line fuses in any add ons. The 2nd gens have more than one location for fuses. Instead of the meter you could also use a test light in a dark area, If the bulb glows at all there is power being drawn. I let my bike sit all winter and it does not pull the battery down. -

LED wiring issues
Flyinfool replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The LEDs that have the built in resistor are usually labeled for CAN Buss. CAN Buss monitors the amps to the bulb to be able to detect a burned out bulb. So they just build a resistor into the bulb so that the LED will draw the same current as the incandescent to fool the computer. This also totally negates and power savings from the driving light side.
