    I am a resident of WI but I hunt a lot in MI. I had to get my CCW for WI so that I could use a handgun in MI. The law in MI reads that unless you have a CCW from your home state, a non resident can NOT even be in possession of a hand gun. Even if it is unloaded and cased and in the trunk. When I am walking in the woods up there I always carry, I have never had to shoot an animal with the hand gun, but making a loud noise did once scare away a wolf that was stalking us. I've had other encounters with wildlife in MI and WI where I had the gun out but did not need to fire. As the law is in MI, If you are from a state that does not issue a CCW permit, then as a non MI resident you can not be in possession of a handgun period. I spoke with several LEOs up there and got the same story from each of them.

    The speedo screech is not from the cable. It is a dry bearing in the speedo head. you need to stuff some grease up into the head. There was a member making an adapter that screwed onto where the cable goes into the speedo and had a grease zerk on it. I have one if you can get here. Some one closer may have one. Or just use patience and shove grease up there with your fingers. Riding with the screech will quickly destroy the speedo. Once that goes you will also lose the self canceling turn signals and the cruise control.

    Has to be Nite Owl. It is a 50s ice cream stand that has great Wisconsin ice cream. AND also makes the best butter burgers available. These are the kind of butter burgers that are fried in REAL Wisconsin butter, they are so juicy that there will be butter dripping off of both elbows while you eat them.

    I Wisconsin there is a law against that big of a layoff without prior notice. Here they must give full pay and bennies for a minimum 3 months. You may want to research your local laws.

    Your going into Chicago, on purpose, AND spending 3 days there???? You must have really POed the judge to get that sentence instead of the death penalty..... Meeting up in April may be a possibility. I am 75 miles (1 hour 15 minutes) north of your hotel.

    Some of those looked like they were moving along at a pretty good clip. What kind of speeds are they hitting? I saw a lot of waves come over the bow, How often do crew get washed overboard?

    Don, the vast majority of us try to follow the rules and really do appreciate all that you do for us. REALLY. Thank you for all of your effort that you put in for our enjoyment. As for that one member, They obviously have no respect for you or anyone else on this site. Don't worry about the one, the many are happy. The one probably did not even catch your sarcasm.

    My thought on horns mounted in the faring are that it is real loud to the bike driver, but pretty much no one else.

    Do what you need to to keep the pipes from freezing. BUT I would not do your idea of running a copper line to make its own pilot light. If/when the wind blows it out there is no thermocouple or other sensor to turn off the gas and the cabinet will fill with gas, the next time a relay opens or closes that Roof top HVAC unit that is sitting on a slab next to the house will actually become a roof mounted unit, but likely on the neighbors roof.
