Yes dear, I'll start chasing the cow now. Does a laser still work well on polished stainless that is like a mirror? I would think that you would end up with holes in the ceiling. I never got to play with a real laser, but I want one for my basement shop....

Are you sure you are running on all 4 cylinders? It is possible that all pipes are hot at idle but you are loosing a cylinder at speed. The power roll off that you describe sounds a lot like when running on 3. Mine is just starting to wake up at 4K and just getting it eye open at 5K and is fully awake and wanting the front wheel off the ground at 6K+. It is amazing just how smooth these bikes run on 3 cyls. As far as the noises. I have so many noises from the junk in my trunk that it sounds like a junk truck coming down the road.

My free side stand plates can double as a mirror until they are used a few times. With some of the mugs around, the polished stainless may hold up slightly better than glass......

I found a bunch of the V-Max windowed stuff. :mo money: :mo money: :mo money: It would cost more for just the engine covers than what I paid for the bike. That is one of the reasons I am looking at doing my own. Another reason is because I can do my own. And I know that NOONE will have one just like it. Besides I HATE shiny. I may paint my windowed covers to match the bike. I just happen to have most of a pint of paint that I had mixed to do other touchup.

I think a clear motor could be built today, but it would have a 6 possibly 7 figure price tag..... A few windows is about as close as I can get. You would really love some of the old aircraft engines with 16 cylinders worth of exposed stuff moving around.

I have already acquired a set of side covers that I was planning to cut the middles out of and install windows, And maybe even some LEDs to help see whats in there. I was going to do all 4 engine side covers. The green antifreeze will look like flowing kryptinite, Not sure what the oil will look like, flowing chocolate? Might require getting that nice purple Barnett clutch setup......... Maybe paint some swirl patterns onto the flywheel....... @cowpuc, hows them thar ideas on yer ol ticker.

The red line does not prevent over revving, but you can not honestly say you had no idea what RPM you were turning. Maybe the limiter came about from those that were ignoring the red line, coupled with a 5 year warranty?

There is no tach. A tach or other gages, did not go with the retro style they were after. They had to have something to prevent over revving.

I hope they find something fixable.

The fake cooling fins were a test to see if an air cooled tourer would still sell. No one seemed to mind the fins, and some complained about them being fake, so they are making them real......
