  1. Since I am in the truck this year I will have both a big tent and a canopy and some chairs.
  2. OK silly question. Is there something special about the OEM line that prevents one from just running a length of straight fuel line from the auto parts store, and just snaking it to where it has to go?
  3. No need for you to worry about a by-ass relay or a by-pass relay.... Those are a 2nd gen thing.
  4. Is it time yet? How much longer? When do we get to leave? I don't get to even start loading the truck till Thursday night after work so I can bug out at 3-4am on Friday. Might as well drive half the night, I won't be able to sleep anyhow with @cowpuc pacing all over the place creating a ruckus. That makes tonight baking night, to create those delectable little treats. Now where did I put the...... and the...... or the....... don't forget the........
  5. ..... ..... ...... ...... ...... ...... ... ..... ...... .......... ........... . ...... I can't seem to find the smiley of rolling up my pants cuz it is to late to save the shoes.....
  6. Ready? Who's ready? I sure ain't. I still have a lot of goodies to find and then pack. It is usually at about the halfway point in the drive that I will remember what very important thing I forgot to pack. So far the only thing packed in the truck is the side stand plates. And my truck don't need those. There are piles of stuff starting to grow all over the house. Now I just have to remember to load them. I have my lists, I'm checking them twice......... Don't matter I will still forget something. I always do. Is it time yet? How much longer? When do we get to leave? At least I am to busy packing to go out and play in the shed..........
  7. Rockers? These bikes have no stinking rockers.... It is an overhead cam. Clutches are common at a MD. Carbs and valves are a bit much for a MD unless you can make a special arrangement with someone that can dedicate the whole weekend to your bike. With all of the help available at a MD everything can take at least twice as long to complete. But there will be a lot of ears there to help you locate the noise(s). If you are that worried about making it to MD, please post your intended route and when you expect to be where so that if you dont make it we have an idea where to send the search and rescue parties.
  8. I can sure feel your loss. Those rascals can sure become a real part of your life.
  9. I am real interested in your sound setup once you get it all installed and working. The sound on my bike is desperately in need of a replacement.
  10. Sure looks like she is havin fun. You could have at least pointed the mirror in the approximate correct direction.....
  11. Lights flickering and tach bouncing up and down is a bad electrical connection in the main power supply. The tach is powered off of the #2 coil. Ignition and lights are on separate fuses so the problem is in the main power. Check Pos wires from the battery to the fuse block and all connections in between especially the main fuse. Check the ground side from the battery to the engine and check the smaller ground wire that comes off the battery, and all of its connections. It could even be a wire that is pinched or rubbed and intermittently shorting. The RR does get fairly warm. With the engine at 2000 or higher you should read close to 14 volts across the battery. Do not rely on the voltmeter in the dash.

I only get 35 MPG when it is running good. First is see if you are running on all 4. start the bike cold and see if all of the pipes heat up at the same rate.
  13. Rev limiters did not appear until the 2nd gen motor. Did you pull the diaphragms and hold them up to a light to check for pin holes? There is no big deal to just pull them to check them. (except for the one security screw on each cover.) While I have never heard of the slides actually twisting. there is an air hole on the slide that is supposed be be located at the bottom. I never heard of the slides actually losing that alignment but it something to pay attention to if you replace the diaphragms.
  14. Naaaaaaa Just trike Brown Sugar.
  15. That depends on if it is a see food diet.
  16. or both......
  17. A leaking water pump will not cause white smoke out the exhaust, but can cause oil to get into the water or water into the oil or both. It could be a head gasket blown to the water jacket. Be very careful with this. If water gets into the cylinder and you try to start it, you can easily snap a connecting rod or worse. The compression and leak down tests will let you know if there is a possible problem with the head gasket. Overflowing coolant is also a sign of a possible head gasket blown to the water jacket.
  18. Do you need more fiber in your diet?
  19. 1) 2) 3) 4) Sit and whine some cuz the bike is home in the shed, and I am in the cage....
  20. Does this only work if the helmet owner was a "pot head"?
  21. Now the question is, how many hundred balls to bring??????
  22. Cool Beans Don!! To late, I already got dibs on that ticket. But I will be happy to sell you mine right after the drawing is over.
  23. I am sure we can find someone to help cover your share. with my best drunken slur "But really orificer, I had nutin ta dink, I only 8 some cookies..."
  24. And I suppose that you are now required to go and meet up with him this weekend too? Gotta watch out though. These people have been know to kidnap people and then brainwash them into thinking that they are a real good friend. There are likely to be lots of other victims there in various stages of brain washing. Well some of the brains may be fairly unwashed...... Just be careful.......
  25. While cleaning the old RTV out of the groove on my valve covers i found that there were some imperfections in the casting, I ground down the bumps and filled the holes in the gasket surface with JB WELD before putting it back together. Hopefully my leaks are now a thing of the past.
