  1. But, But, But,,,,,,,,,I'm violently allergic to beer......... My very first beer ever I was in the ER before I got halfway thru it. I have seen to many people do additional damage to themselves by having drugs that took ALL the pain away. I really do not like having either one of my remaining 2 brain cells messed with.
  2. The load equalizers are easy to install and really do put a load on the electrical system. you only turn the signals on for a few seconds at a time only while turning or changing lanes. When the signals are on they are only actually lit 50% of the time. So the power draw is insignificant in the overall scheme of things. The real power savings of LED comes from replacing all of the lights that are on all the time. With all of that said, I am sure that you could get an electronic flasher that will work with both signals and hazard flashers and allow you to not use load resisters. I do not know enough about the specifics of 2nd gen wiring to recommend one.
  3. I will be finding out all about the late night P runs while on crutches. Not to mention dealing with a Wisconsin style winter on one foot. Yup that first night will be interesting. The knee scooter just looks like it might be fun. As long as I don't crash.
  4. Glad to see that Tippy is doing well. Puc you better take good care of her. We want to see that famous smile of hers for a long long time.
  5. She looks familiar....... I may NEED a nurse or 3. And her number is????????? I sure hope it is someone else butt cause I have determined after intense experimentation that kicking one own butt is NOT fun.
  6. See, we knew you could not have been running on all cylinders. Just be careful, for a big ol' thing it will still lift the front wheel off the ground when you get on it hard. Kind of sneaks up on ya the first time it happens.
  7. I am sure this round started life a long time ago as a wildcat, many now common rounds started life as a wildcat, but it is now readily available over the counter. I do all of my own reloading not just to save cost, but also to optimize the load to the specific gun it is going into. The gun will shoot factory ammo just fine I have never heard of a "pistol Round" available in 7mm-08, although some of the reloading manuals do list handgun loads for it. The muzzle flash is quite impressive with factory ammo since they were expecting 26-30 inches of barrel to burn it in and not 14 inches of barrel. The muzzle brake also increases the perceived muzzle flash. But that is all part of the fun. A little history for your reading pleasure. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7mm-08_Remington
  8. With the H4 the reason that the hi and lo are not run at the same time is because of the high amp draw and the heat that it will produce. As a minimum you will need the ceramic headlight connector just to keep that from melting. I do not know if the plastic lens and/or reflector can take that much heat either. For that matter, I do not know if the bulb itself can take that much heat.
  9. You asked fer it. First one has a 357 magnum and a 7mm-08.
  10. Just 3 more wakups to go before the docs will attempt to reattach my right foot. Well its not really off but close. I had a klutz attack while walking in the woods and my foot slipped out from under me, but the toe of my boot was still on a log, I fell to my knees and then backwards. My toe touched my butt in the process. Think about that one. I twisted the foot 180° from the direction that it normally points. In the process I tore 3 ligaments and 2 tendons, (or was it 2 ligaments and 3 tendons? I forget, either way not good) and tore the cartilage off the bone. So the Nice DR is going to go in there and try to reattach all them things all to where they go. The MRI also found an unidentifiable chunk of something that is about 7mm dia x 8mm long floating around in the joint that does not belong there, but is doing a good job of getting stuck in the joint and locking it up. That will also be removed and identified. I will be on crutches and in a non walking type cast for 4-6 weeks, then go to a walking boot for another 4-6 weeks, then get to start 3 months of rehab. This could all drag out into summer. I don't know what time the surgery will be just yet, only that it is scheduled for Thursday, Dec 17. Doc says that best case scenario is to end up with about 80% usefulness of the ankle. I sure hope that it will be enough to hold the bike up and push it around the yard. I am just barely able to walk on it the way it is now. And it buckles and makes me fall down a lot. Even before the RUM balls. So if you have been wondering where the SNOW is, I have been keeping @cowpucs favorite machine stored away and locked in a shed at a highly classified secure location, just for my own personal and selfish reasons. Somehow I just know it would end badly if I were to try to go out and shovel on crutches.
  11. Yup, Pucs fault again The 7mm-08 is the same brass as the .308 (0.308 inch Dia.) just necked down for the 7mm (0.284 inch Dia.) bullet. When a rifle round is stuffed into a hand gun I would call that a magnum handgun, the 7mm-08 is not considered a magnum rifle round. This "handgun" will still have no problem dropping a deer at 200+ yards. At 300 yards it still has more bullet energy than a 44 magnum has at the muzzle. It is a BLAST to shoot.
  12. Either the auction ended or someone bought it cuz I can not find any band saw in Lake Villa, IL on ebay.
  13. See Kic, I told you that ol @cowpuc was not as dumb as he looks, he is a pretty fart smeller ya know. Gee that Puc can be a sore winner when he gets one right...... Back to the development of the 60° snow that he wanted.....
  14. How big of a saw is this? Approx weight and height? Is this new and still in the box or already assembled? I am about 50 miles from Lake Villa IL, But where I work is 22 miles in the right direction so it is just 28 miles if I can go right from work. I can help with picking up the saw as long as the seller can help me get it into the back of my truck (Truck has a big topper on it). The catch is that I only have Mon and Tues this week available to pick it up after work. Wed will be busy with final preparation for my surgery on Thursday. I would then be no help at all getting it from my truck to Earls truck. But I would still be able to supervise and keep the happy. Its not much but it is the best I can offer at this time. Naa, I already have a metal cutting band saw in my shop, now if it was a TIG welder.....................
  15. Just think what 5 inches of rain would have looked like If I had not closed that door while I was up in the UP chasin deer. The machine is just fine, Just I'm not OK. Oh and don't tell @saddlebum that I used a special ceramic welding process. The welding rods are a mix of ceramic and unobtainium, Both are impervious to his plasma cutter that he likes to brag about.......... By the end of the week I will be on crutches for a couple months so I may not want to much snow. That is why I had to slam the door hard.
  16. You completely understood @cowpuc? I'm sorry to be the one to inform you, that you might just be one of us:rasberry: . Welcome to the asylum.
  17. Going back to the 1st gen heritage it even has linked brakes......... but at least it also has ABS. Not sure if I like the idea of throttle by wire and traction control...... As far as a touring machine. I don't see any frame looking stuff back there to attach a trailer hitch, or in @cowpucs case a second luggage rack. At 642 lbs, the rule of thumb for towing is to keep the trailer under 50% of the bikes weight, that rules out a lot of the popup campers. But none the less it is interesting.
  18. Unfortunately there is no easy test for the regulator without expensive test gear. If you are putting 56 or more volts AC into the RR you should be getting 14Volts DC (+/-0.5V) at the battery terminals.
  19. It can be done but not easily. You would have to disconnect the air lines from the class system and then rig up some kind of adapter to a schrader valve so you could pump them up with a hand pump. Riding with no air will make the rear end sag and bottom out easy. Handling in corners will be compromised.
  20. That may depend on the specific vehicle, Where the plate is mounted in relation to the hitch. On my truck the plate is in the bumper about 12 inches directly in front of the hitch, The only reason you might not see it would be if the ball is to close to the camera to focus. I can see where some of the cars with the plate in the tailgate it might not see the hitch.
  21. A banana is a lot different than 100 bananas a day.........
  22. A wonderful person that Tippy is. Even in a hospital bed she still has that big smile. I would be throwing things at someone if the walked into my hospital room with a camera...... You have my prayers and best wishes for the health of both of you. I really hope you will let me meet her some day. Promise I won't bite, hard.
  23. And just WHY should California be exempt from all the fun?
  24. Welcome to the site. As far as where you put the post, your new, don't worry about it. The site administrators are the ones that worry about stuff like that. The rest of us are just here for fun and to help each other out with keeping these old scoots running like a top. But the rest of us, we have rules here. We love looking at pictures or your bikes, trips, whatever. You have to watch out for @cowpuc though, he is the head of the police, and I am in charge of harassing him. Enjoy your stay with us.
  25. An oldi but goodie. How old?
