So glad to hear that this is not life threatening and that you are quickly learning to deal with it. I think everyone in this forum/family has had enough with needing medical intervention on our family this year. Next year can only get better.

Sounds like a good time was had by all. Well if ya need a break around Milwaukee, let me know. At least wave as you go by. I can even give ya a trunk load of snow to take home with you to share with your friends. If ya are real nice I can even let you play with the snow machine to see if you can guess where to aim it so @cowpuc can go play with his green machine.

I have a Poland Wild Thing 18". it is at least 15 years old, prolly more, it always starts on the first pull when warm and on the 4th pull when cold. I use it once every couple of years. I always have Seafoam and/or Stabil in the gas and I only use premium oil since the better oils also have a stabilizer in them. I do not use it often but when I do use it I use it a lot. I have a number of 2 stroke engines that spend a lot of time sitting and none of them ever have fuel related starting issues. The other thing that I have noticed is that I have never had a 2 stroke that had the carb needles adjusted correctly from the factory. I had one that was so LEAN it would not run more than 5 minutes before it over heated and seized. BUT most of them have something to make it difficult to set the needles without a very special tool, I usually take my Dremel and put a slot in the head of the mixture screws so I can tweak as needed. Most come set to rich and need to be leaned out as the engine breaks in. It is amazing the power difference between the factory settings and the correct settings. I have some 2 strokes with many hundreds of service free hours on them.

I will be making these calls today. OR maybe just announce on this site FREE HOT DOGS and RUM BALLS every time it snows and see how long it takes to draw a crowd. Yesterday it cost me Pizza and Hot Wings to get the snow off the sidewalks.

Just think of all the goodies that you will rediscover while putting it all back together. Have you made any really good finds of so that where that went, or the old I forgot that I have one of those? Good thing this year will be over in just a few more hours. It's been a rough one.

Ummmmmm It still needs maintenance and oil added. I have both gas and electric, they each have their advantages.

So with my bum foot I can no longer go out to clear snow while on crutches, it just don't work. Erika also has bum feet and this last snowfall we had she decided that she just can not fill in for me. Now granted this was not a "normal" snowfall, this one was more like concrete falling from the sky. The storm kept alternating between rain and snow to absolutely maximize the water content and weight until it built up 10 inches of the stuff, and then the temps took a major nose dive to set it up harder than the concrete under it. So now I am shopping for snow removal companies, going thru the gamete of landscapers that do snow in the winter to supplement their income. I can not find a local kid that wants to make a few bucks. I do not have a lot to clear, just a 30' section of sidewalk. and a small short side walk off that to the house and the 4 front steps, then a small 5' x 7' spot to get out the back door. It never took me more than 15 minutes to do it all. All of the landscapers have a $50 minimum per snowfall, this is Wisconsin it can, and often does, snow every other day. Many of the places I called do not want the job because it is to small. Anyone have any other ideas on where to look for affordable snow shovelers? This not being able to do stuff for myself is the worst part of this whole ordeal, I just never been there before.

Around here they only LET you shovel IF you WANT to. There is no MAKE. But then due to overcrowding you may be hot bunking with someone you never met before.

The doc did kind of shake her head that I made it to my appointment on time and that i drove there. I figure that once that right foot is strong enough to lift the bike on the center stand and onto my nice center stand dolly, that it will be strong enough to hold it up when I pull into a DQ and stop. It does take a pretty strong ankle to use the center stand, at least it does with my girth. @COWPUC WHAT DID YOU DO??? I seem to remember not to long ago someone telling me that they were now IMMUNE to white wash and that I should take my best shot since the new secret weapon green machine can handle it. Now your complaining that you cant get out of the house?????? Now if some one did do some "tiddeling" around while I was sleeping and accidentally opened a valve or loosened a joint near the bags of ReadyCrete that could explain why this stuff is so hard. It may have sucked a bit of cement into the mix.

Now what did I dooo.........

Went to see the doc today for my 2 week checkup and to get the stitches out. Doc said that she can tell that I have been a really good boy and doing everything as told to. She said that it is healing really fast and correctly. She has moved up the schedule for upcoming recovery. the new plan is to keep up with the Zero weight on the foot until 5 weeks post op. then I can start putting partial weight on it for about a month while at the same time doing physical therapy to get the strength and range of motion back. With this new schedule I could be back on the bike by mid April ASSUMING that all the snow and salt are gone by then. The real test for the bike will be if I can get it up onto the center stand. If my foot is not strong enough to get it up on the center stand then I will not be able to push it out of the shed or get the front wheel off to replace the bad bearing. Things are looking up. On the other hand. The storm that we just had yesterday was supposed to be 1-3 inches of snow, THEY LIED. We got 10 inches of snow alternating with freezing rain so it was as wet and heavy as is possible. Then the temps dropped and now it is all set up like concrete. This made it really interesting to get to the doc this morning. Until today I never had to do crutches across smooth glare ice. That is tricky. Then I had to climb over a 2 foot high wall of snow that the plows left, get up the driveway to find out that Erikas car was frozen solid and was not going anywhere. So I had to chisel all of the ice off the windows on my truck cuz Erika can not reach that high and then drive the truck to the doc without the use of my right foot. If it were not for big tires and 4 wheel drive I would not have made it up over the ice wall. It was an interesting day so far.

You just know that it will not take long for someone to not wear a helmet and site this law as making the helmet an illegal ear covering. Or has CA just outlawed full and 3/4 helmets and the only thing you can now wear is a half helmet. I'll bet that by this time next week someone will have been ticketed and is going to court to make waves. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out in the courts.

I hate missing out on a deal. But then you know what they say, Good things come to those who wait. You will find another deal. PS you do not need a Yamaha to hang around on here, we like everyone.

There was a good reason that speedos did not go up over 100k back then. I hate when service parts had no thought by the designers for serviceability.

To late, I caught that request for SNOW. Now it is my turn to have some fun................... Besides, cowpuc loves being caught between us. Not being able to walk and stuck in the recliner has me bored silly.

I feel so bad. I put on about 1,100. But in my defense, due to medical issues the bike did not come OUT of winter storage until mid September. Then the poor thing got put back to bed in late October with a noisy front wheel bearing. I am hoping that next year will be much better.
