  1. I watched someone light up a wedding ring once, That was enough to have me not wear one around electricity. It sure looks like it hurt.
  2. Well I am glad it is only "about" enough, that means there is room for more.................... I can even still see the tops of the tires, and the top of the double Shepard hook in the yard. Plenty of room for more.
  3. The AGM i had was an AC Delco. This past weekend I made it out to the shed and hit the starter on the bike, it cranked with no problem. I then hooked up the float charger overnight just to be sure it was topped off. I last rode or even touched the bike in early October.
  4. It looks like 1 year is the cutoff. anything more than 1 year old the pics are gone. There are a lot of how to threads that just became a lot less useful.
  5. I just read in today's paper that Buell racing will be restarting production sometime in March of this year. There will be production Buells out by April. The factory will be cranking out replacement parts to fill all back orders for everyone that has needed parts in the years that they were down. Sorry @cowpuc, the Factory is staying here.
  6. Third fuse from the bottom is a 15A fuse for the ignition If that fuse blows it should take out the ignition of which the tach is part of. The second fuse from the bottom is a 15A fuse for the signals and brake light. The wiring diagram is http://www.venturerider.org/wiring/84-85%20Yamaha%20Venture%20L%20Wiring%20Diagram%20Rev%20C.pdf
  7. Lubrication is optional?????? Did you pay attention to the direction of the bent bolts and damage to determine the direction of force that did the damage. Is it possible that maybe you bottomed out hard when the shock was bad?
  8. Is it as simple as you need to tell it the correct password to get into the network? You can connect to the router without the password but it will not let you thru the router.
  9. All of those things should not be on the same fuse. Which fuse is blowing? If someone did some creative rewiring you may have to try to determine what they did to it and it will be difficult for us to help find a non stock issue without being there. The only other possibility is a ground issue that is causing things to back feed thru other circuits. Those electrons can get awful creative at finding a way to complete a circuit.
  10. I did not have as good of luck with the AGM. Mine lasted only 14 months. Cranking got slower and slower, charging system was working perfectly, the AGM was never run down in its short life. I get ~7 years out of a good old Yuasa battery at half the price. The AGM wpuld have to last 14 years, not 14 months, to have the same value for me.
  11. Looks like fun until you want or need to turn. I wonder how it will handle some really deep snow.........................
  12. Sorry Puc, But the rumor is that the plant will stay right where it is, It would cost a ton to move it and then try to train a new workforce. So we will still have 2 MC manufacturers over here and you just get the owner of one of them. But things are always subject to change.
  13. Chrome is bad, I do not like chrome, I still do not like that proto.
  14. Nice Job. Am I the only one left working to support all you retired folks??????????????????
  15. A good time was had by all.
  16. I still hope that old vid is not the intentionally leaked images that he was referring to. That thing is ugly. Top heavy would not be something new to us,
  17. I'm in Wisconsin, we do not get prolonged periods of sunlight.........................
  18. Thank you for your service, I am sure a lot of sailors also thank you for being you and the sacrifices you have made. Sounds like you are pretty well set for the future. Are you looking for another job for additional income or more just to have something to do. If it is more for something to do there are a lot of charities that always need volunteers to help out. Maybe you could still be involved in the SAR system but just not doing the grunt work. It is just as important to direct the crew to the rescue as it is to make the rescue. Or even to teach the new guys how to do it right. This way you are still doing what you like and already have a wealth of knowledge about.
  19. Your man card is in jeopardy.................. Instructions are for those that have no clue of things. I must have at least 15 sizes between the LFH and the BFH so that I always have the right tool for the job. So I can do anything.
  20. If they actually ran the business like what was shown on TV, I would be surprised that they lasted as long as they did. Along the same lines of thought, Buell Motorcycles was just bought at a court auction by someone near Grand Rapids MI. Is there something that ol @cowpuc aint tellin us?
  21. Ask the the folks in the north east if they like how you "tuned" things......................... Looks like there will a new "tune" for next week...................... Maybe "Ice Age" may become an appropriate name.
  22. I normally call my bike "The Bike" But I occasionally have names for it that can not be mentioned on a PG website, but those names are only while it is misbehaving...................
  23. Puc as late as you come to the party I will have had at least an hour head start on the pile O fried Oink. And those that know me know I aint no slouch around a chow line.
  24. Ifin yer samich tasts funny it means you need MORE bacon.
