  1. It is a dog eat dog world out there. Don't forget to stop in Milwaukee on the way to AZ for a eating tour of the hot dog specialty houses.
  2. A tacoed toga. **yeahaa**
  3. Turn it off??? Now I can walk out there and refill the hoppers................. I can't waste this blast of COLD that one of your buddies sent down from Canada.
  4. So sad to hear. Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting Jonesy in person, I/we still feel the loss.
  5. Looks good. I hope to see it in action in June at Orlins MD.
  6. I am shooting for late April early May to get back on the scoot. I can not get it out until my right foot is strong enough to get it up on the center stand so that I can change the front wheel bearings. It is surprising just how hard it is to get it up on the center stand with no ligaments attached in the ankle. Maybe when I do my March M&E I can get someone to help me get the bike up on the center stand so I can start my winter maintainance. But walking thru snow is great exercise for both strength and balance..................... I might have to upgrade the flux capacitor.
  7. Well this has been the week of the Docs. Tuesday I went in for my quarterly checkup with the cardiologist. He cheated! Hit me with an unexpected pop quiz that I did not have time to study for. I thought this would be the normal run a ECG talk for 5 minutes and wright a big check. That is my normal visit. But NOOOooo.... not this time, he sprung a stress test on me. I did not study for any tests. At least this was more of stress quiz than a stress test. Ever try running on a treadmill on crutches.................... So they had to do the drug version and there was no fancy xrays and stuff. They just used drugs to run my heart up to only 176 (they hit 198 on the last test). The doc said that my heart is showing reduced capacity from the first test, but I should not worry because my reduced capacity is still better than most people with a "healthy" heart. I started out this whole ordeal with a heart that was way more than normal capacity so I can afford to loose some with no issues. As a result of all of this he cut another one of my meds dosage in half and went from quarterly checks to 6 month checks. So I guess this is all good stuff. Speaking of crutches....... Today I went to PT first thing in the morning. the therapist was in disbelief as to how fast I am progressing. After just 3 weekly visits my range of motion is very close to normal. My strength is at about 50% now, 2 weeks ago my strength was at 10%. I am already doing exercises that are for much farther down the road, and doing them with zero pain. The docs orders were to do as much as I can but to NOT push thru any pain, stop before it hurts. To me that means that anything that does not hurt is OK to do. Doc agreed. Right after the PT session I had an follow up appointment with the foot doc. She looked at the PT reports and did some of her own strength and range of motion tests and said that if someone had told her that a person "MY AGE" could heal that fast she would not have believed them. I still heal like a 12 year old. So as of today the boot is history. What was originally supposed to be 12 weeks in the boot has ended at just under 7 weeks. I am a full 5 weeks ahead of schedule already. The PT therapist has been looking forward to me loosing the boot so she can see me twice a week instead of just once and then she can really start to abuse me. For now I am using the crutches again for walking, but they are more for balance and safety than for support, In the last 7 weeks the muscles in my foot have completely forgotten how to balance and hold me up. by the weekend I should be done with the crutches and down to the cane and by mid next week I plan to be done with walking aids altogether. Then starts the long road of learning how to drive this newly rebuilt foot. It actually felt weird, but at the same time wonderful, to use my right foot to press the gas peddle in my truck today. Mt instincts are still off cuz when I had to make a quick stop my left foot went for the brake peddle with no time to think about it. So this has been my last 2 days............
  8. Depends on if you move the needle in or out. You can adjust either way.
  9. Yes I have, bout 3 or 4 years ago.
  10. I think it is much easier and faster to do it the correct way. You do not need to gring off the end of the slider. He has the Diaphragms fro Sirius which are a direct replacement for the originals. All you need to do is to pull the old one out of the space between the washers. Stretch the new one into place and then using either a credit card or @skydoc_17s special thumb nail press the new diaphragm back into the groove and you are done and do not risk a glue joint failing on the road.
  11. Good thing for you, or good thing for Florida's future tourism????
  12. My 88 with good diaphragms gets 38-40 mpg with my style of driving. Changing the diaphragms will make the bike run better and get better throttle response which the fun factor will reduce mileage but then the engine running better will get you better mileage. How these two mix is kind of up to you. I would change the diaphragms before doing any kind of tuning or adjustments. Just a few tiny pin holes does make a big difference.
  13. Woooooo Hooooooo Togas and whipssssssssssss
  14. Sounds good, I'd buy one.............
  15. Love it when a plan comes together..............
  16. Many time the OP has no clue what the problem is, let alone what to even ask. It is usually all of us asking a lot of questions to narrow it down and then the gory details of how to fix it will emerge. I understand that this makes it hard to find the info for the next guy. There are probably not many questions left that have not already been answered somewhere on this site. If everyone could find all of their answers what would be left for us to talk about?
  17. It is not as heavy as it looks. That is all fairly thin wall tubing. But it is strong. I much prefer to strong to not quite strong enough. According to my CAD software it is only 8 lbs.
  18. I have done a couple of mine now with just uploading the pics over again. The parts still missing is where someone else also put pics in a thread I started, or I put pics in a thread someone else started.
  19. If you are replacing the starter clutch you might want to give @Dano a shout. He has an upgrade that is much better than stock. Yes there are a lot of stories about getting the flywheel off for the first time.
  20. I have fixed the pics in my original Hitch thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?52757-Trailer-hitch-project-for-this-winter&p=578623#post578623
  21. This is what a MKII Markland hitch looks like. What I designed and built was to replace the chrome part of a Markland hitch with a receiver hitch. And this is what I built. And some ideas I am still playing with
  22. Those of us that have a passion for flying RC are on a campaign to try to educate as many people as possible on how to play with their new toys in a responsible manor to try to keep big brother from making more foolish rules. Unfortunately due to the foolish people doing foolish things, we now have all of these rules to contend with. And there are a lot more very restrictive rules on the horizon.
  23. The short answer is NO. The mounting points are completely different. A quick look on ebay I saw several for the MKI but none for the MKII.
  24. I wonder just how many drones will need to be shot down. the manufactures said the there were over 500,000 drones delivered just before Christmas. I'll bet that the vast majority of those new owners have no clue on the rules. The FAA needs to make a highly publicized example out of someone. Should we start a contest to see who guesses right? On YouTube there are may examples of dummies flying a drone into places they should not be.
  25. There is a company, I think in Sweden, that is making something mounted on a rifle stock that will electronically shoot down the drone. I am wondering if that is what the FAA is planning to use to shoot down the drones at the Stupid bowl tomorrow. I sure hope they are not planning to shoot into the air with any kind of projectile around that many people.
