I just sent you a PM with a pic................\

Well at least we have had 2 quiet nights in a row. But then they are strictly enforcing the curfews to not let anything even get started.

After reading up a bit, the 4K GoPro can use your phone via bluetooth or WiFi as the monitor, you can even control all functions of the camera from your phone. I have to vote for the 4K.

That is a toss up. I love my 4K tvs picture quality. having a display on the camera makes it so much more convenient to use, and/or preview a vid. 4K will eat gigabits a lot faster than 1080p. How much shoot time can each one give? File sizes will be massive, will this make a difference to you for uploading or transferring the files?

Cable upgrade
Flyinfool replied to Big Auggie's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
:sign yeah that: There were several different people over the years that were making up the cables. But none of them are still members here. -
If you want to send pics to someone privately you need to exchange email addresses and then send the pics via email. The email function of the forum does not allow you to attach pics either.

I think he meant CTFW, Chase The Front Wheel. I typically ride till mid November, I stop riding when Deer hunting opens and then there is usually SNOW on the ground by the time I get home from deer hunting. I do not have heated anything. Just a warm coat and good gloves. I have ridden more than once dressed in full blaze orange from my chin to my ankles.

Whining sound

Is your old pump impeller plastic? There IS a new metal one that is what you want to put in there. I think you are missing a digit in the part number you posted. -
I love the concept of public caning that they use in Singapore. I read that they have to lowest rate of repeat offenders in the world. We need to bring back good old fashion butt whooping.

It has been all over the national news about the riots in Milwaukee. The national news sure is good at misinformation. National news said the National Guard was called in. The National Guard was put on alert and is ready but never deployed, YET. I just do not understand the logic that makes people do things like this. This is all happening about 10 miles from me so it is very unlikely that it will get near me. It is also the only thing the local news seems to be able to talk about. The first night there were 17 arrests after they burned 6 businesses to the ground, and burned a squad car and flipped over some privately owned cars. It came out that the 17 that were arrested wire all from Milwaukee but not from that area, they responded to the calls on social media to come and riot and loot. Last night two homes were burned, one had a family of 6 living in it, all made it out without injury. So if I get this correctly, these people feel that if a convicted felon points a gun at police and ends up dying on the spot, that means it is time to get a new free TV and make a bonfire out of the store.................?????

Welcome from down in the corner of Wisconsin. I will be passing thru New Lisbon Labor day weekend, going from Milwaukee to Ladysmith. There is a thread in the tech section of what to look for as common issues with a 2nd gen. 25K miles is getting close to taking a peek at the valve adjustment, it is not hard to do, just very time consuming because you have to take a lot of stuff off to get to them.

I have never fired 3 rounds at a deer from any gun. 2 rounds on rare occasion. It is about as fast to reload as my New England Firearms single shot shotgun that I take upland bird hunting. Having a single shot makes you pick your shot better and learn to make the first one count. Just for giggles I did use it once at a bowling pin shoot, I took down 5 pins in 30 seconds, with 6 shots. I had a soft pin and the bullet went thru the pin and did not knock it off the table, second shot square into the base of the pin, got 90% of the pin off the table. For comparison with one of my guns that is built for speed I can take 5 pins in 2.5 seconds and that is bumping up against the speed of the guns action.

A TIG welder is on my toy list as well, (Miller Diversion 180) I do have a decent 200A MIG and a torch set. I sold my stick welder a week after the first time I tried the MIG. It is scary to think that you sound an awful lot like me with tool acquisitions and then learn to use them later. You are my kind of people. Next thing you know there will be another SNOW machine located in New York. Won't that make @cowpuc happy.

Well if you like different. Is it a rifle or a hand gun? It has a 14 inch barrel and chambered in 7mm-08. I bought this for back when the hunting regs called for shotguns or hand guns only. This will easily drop a deer at 200 + yards. This one is even for sale..........

Wonder if it got as bad as the local arena with indoor go cart and midget racing on a track about the size of a hockey rink. Nitro and Alky fumes in a confined place.................. sure smelled good. real clad I was on the upwind side and near the open doors............... They only tried that once. I bet it took a while to get the rubber off the floor............ -
I am fortunate that my bosses sense of humor is similar to mine, he has to try to keep a straight face when he is telling me to stop picking on the stupid people. But I have never even been threatened with time off. But then he also is aware (because he asked) that I use time off without pay for job hunting. While no one is irreplaceable, I at least fall into a pool of those that would be difficult to replace.

What is the sign made of? Vinyl needs a perfectly smooth surface to stick to. It does not do well on wood, even painted wood. Painted metal is best. Once the crunch time is over if you get desperate let me know, I have a small vinyl cutter (8" x 10") that works until my old Win 98 puter with a parallel port dies.

Also get more info on how he intends to pick the item up. If he is sending "his courier", run for the hills. In a dispute PP almost always sides with the buyer. IF he goes back to PP and says the item was not as advertised PP will refund him the money, he will then have both his money and the item. OR idf the sell er claims the item is a counterfit then PP will have him "destroy" it and refund him the money. All he needs is a pic of a destroyed similar item for proof to PP. Since I have gotten burned on some small items using these scams. I am now strictly CASH when you pick it up, especially with a bigger $$ item, and that will be at the front door of the local PD recorded on video. Yea I know that modern printers can make a pretty good bill, but if you know what to look for...

Look at that. Even a 1st gen with no rider is keeping up with you....................... I'm thinking Dan will have one MORE 1st gen in the garage......

Does service history show a very recent valve adjustment. if not it is due, price reduction. Look real close at the half moons of the valve cover gaskets, and cracking and it is most likely ready for valve adj. Look close at the boots that connect the carbs to the heads for cracking, There is a steel liner so the cracking is mostly cosmetic but small shop might not know that. Check all rubber hoses for cracking. Check date code on tires, regardless of how much thread they have they must be replaced at 6 years old. Apply all of the things on the list to look for to this new possibility. Might all get you closer on price. Make sure he knows you traveled all the way there to buy a bike and are ready to make deal RIGHT NOW. You are from another state and will not be back later for more talking if the deal does not happen today.

This one looks like it is made from a sand casting. On the inside part that is against the fender it looks like a sand cast surface that did not quite clean up during machining and even on the top machined surface you can see a couple of holes from air pockets or inclusions. Since the purpose is adding strength and stiffness to the front forks I would want one machined from a solid bar. I have one on my bike but i got it so long ago I don't remember where it came from. But it did and still does help. I always get a kick out of ads that try to make something sound better by saying "Aircraft grade aluminum" there are some really weak grades of metal used on aircraft. -
Dan Lots of good info here. http://www.mtcvoyager.com/used-trike-kits/
