Anyone have any idea how long Ride On last in a tire? If the tire is not removed should it be okay or is this designed to be replaced before the tire wears out?
-
Most of the dogs I train now are Labs although I do have two Shepherds in this current training. Before this I dealt with nothing but Shepherds and the occassional Malinois and loved them. Of course the Labs are a fun breed to be around.

Ben, Nice bike for sure and a friend of mine has one. Brand new one. Can't believe what he paid for it. Make sure you browse the classifieds as there is a reason there are plenty of Harley's for sale. So many people buy them then find out they either can't afford them or they don't have the time to ride. Might find a decent deal. I'll bet 10 of my friends from my old job have sold their Harley's in the last year

Kitesquid, Just got back on this site. Disappeared a while back. Sorry to see what's happened to you and real glad it wasn't worse for you both.

Yep. It hasn't been Vint Hill Farms Station for many years. I know it does have some homes built in there but not sure how many.
-
Yeah yeah. I knew I wasn't missed. Ben. Sounds rough. You were having your wife type your messages when I last posted so I knew about the accident. I was hoping you were back to riding by now.
-
I know you didn't miss me but I'm finally back. I rejoined several months ago but apparently did something wrong. I was so busy at work and travelling that I failed to follow up. I've been in Florida working August and until the end of Sept. Seems I'm missing some real nice riding weather back in Va. Is this true Ben? Are you back yet Ben? Did I miss anything major? BTW. You Florida people can keep this weather. I'm not on my bike and I miss it terribly. Even the dogs I'm training are starting to revolt due to the heat and these dogs will be going to Afghanistan soon.

All things considered you sound good Ben. Keep up the good spirits and keep on mending.

As a retired 30 year police officer I can tell you this is a good law. We had two major interstates run through my county and I can't begin to explain telling you what it was like sitting along the side wondering who was going to wipe me out. Many here say it's common sense to move over but you might be surprised how many people won't move over. Back in the days when officers and troopers used to use CB radios we would hear truckers talking about a game which the name now escapes me. But basically the truckers would see how close they could skim a state trooper alongside the interstate and see if they could blow his hat off. For some idiotic reason troopers have to wear their hats. A good friend of mine had the butt of his sidearm hit on a traffic stop on a 4 lane road cause the driver got that close. I had a friend lose both legs standing behind a car broken down on the side of the road as the driver was fixated on the red/blue lights and ran into the officer and car pinning her there. And the police memorial wall in DC has many names of officers killed working alongside the road. It is common sense to move over for anyone stopped alongside the road but unfortunately too many drivers out here drive with no common sense whatsoever.

Ouch. Hurts to even look at. Ben. Mine is not being used due to my new job. May have to let you use it for a while to keep it running.

Ben, So sorry to hear about this. Let me know if I can help at all.

Actually no. Probably more confused than ever. But I'll figure it out and I appreciate the advice. -
Questions for anyone who is a federal contractor

MiCarl, Based on the choices I had when filling out the CCR I had no choice but to choose Sole proprietorship. But hiring an accountant ahead of starting the process would have been a good idea. -

Thanks for all the info guys. Hiring an accountant sounds like a good idea. Tombo. Yes, I will be out in Front Royal. I did see the story regarding the Customs dog. Pretty sad for the kid. I'm sure the next order coming down the tube from the Customs bosses will be to get rid of the "Pointy" ear dogs. Meaning the Shepherds and Malinois. The CIA did that when they had some aggression issues with a couple of their pointy ear dogs. -
I am starting a new job training dogs for the federal govt March 1 and will be a contract trainer. This was my specialty for the last 23 years as a civilian police officer and am looking forward to getting back to work with dogs. I've done the process where I've registered as a sole proprietor and all the other difficult paperwork. I know I'll need to pay my own taxes quarterly and my wife is good with stuff like that so figuring out what to pay should be ok. What I'm trying to figure out is is there any resource where I can find what exactly I can deduct and can't off the taxes. I'm wondering if I'll need to hire someone for the first year to help with the taxes. This is a five year contract. Any advice from anyone in this position would be appreciated.

After all that work it BETTER be the right one.

To me this is no loss and I'll lose no sleep over it. This was a dysfunctional family to start with.
-
Ben, Is he happy with the one? I assume so if he's buying another. I just think they are neat looking guns and have wanted one for awhile. No rush on asking him.
-
Just wondering if anyone here owns a Henry Rifle and what you thought about them. I've been looking at buying one recently. www.henryrifles.com/503

No matter what Peyton is a heluva QB. I wasn't rooting for the Colts but wanted to see a good game. The Saints, and the city/state deserved the Super Bowl.
-
They definitely outplayed the Colts once the first period ended. No doubt Bourbon Street is rocking.
-
So damn young. Sorry for your loss.

At least the Northern section. I took this from another forum. Looks legit to me. Could be an interesting weekend if they are correct. You are receiving this message because my forecast team feels it is imperative for you to be aware that another round of high impact winter weather is slated to occur from Friday into Sunday across the I-95 corridor. This event is likely to equal or exceed that of the December 19, 2009 storm and may resemble the March 18-22, 1958 storm in terms of duration and snowfall. In that event, areas of Baltimore County received 4 feet of snow. What you will read below will not be released publicly until Tuesday or perhaps Wednesday, and may contain some changes, but we are confident of our investigation thus far. Our pre-public statement: The Foot's Forecast team in Baltimore, MD expects an historic snow event to occur during the weekend of February 5-6-7. Snow is likely to begin Friday and extend into Sunday. Amounts across the eastern Mid-Atlantic may approach 24" by Saturday evening. Areas of elevation will see enhanced snowfall that may approach or exceed 30". Several computer models already project nearly 2.0 inches of liquid equivalent for this storm, which at a basic 12:1 snow to water ratio would easily produce 2 feet or more. This would shut down most roads and interstates and result in states of emergency from Virginia northward to Massachusetts for several days. Meteorologists at the federal level http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/discussions/pmdepd.html> have been releasing statements on this potential since Sunday afternoon, the text of which can be found at HPC, NOAA's Hydrometeorological Prediction Center. Our information does not constitute an official statement nor do we claim to represent the National Weather Service. However, the NOAA agencies which serve the NWS have already made clear their belief this will be a high impact event for the I-95 corridor http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/threats/threats.gif>. We believe that educators, administrators and county officials need to be closely monitoring this potential as it will have a high impact on the school system for a long period of time following the storm.
