Guess the only way to get it right is to try it on. There just isn't any retailers that carry the overhead of having anything but the popular helmets in stock. Revzilla seems to have the best customer service when it comes to returning a helmet. Best fitting helmet I have had is my vega half helmet which has a very noticeable oval shape.

I don't see the need for speed... Why can't it just be enjoyed for what it is at the posted or a little above the speed limit? I rode a 2001 Honda Rc51 sport bike for a few years and every group ride i was always in the back shaking my head wondering why I'm riding with such a reckless group. I enjoyed the speed and power but responsibly and while everyone in my group usually carried 15+ points on there license I was happy with my 0 Points. Now I just ask where we are meeting up at and grab some coffee and listen to the tunes while i ride there. I do find it entertaining to hear who got pulled over or who isn't showing up cause they ran from the police and most likely went home to hide there bike. I think they like having me around though because when they all buy stuff it goes in my luggage

no issues here! She is more than welcome to come along whenever she likes, of course she would have to chip in for fuel and feed me. Saturday we took a ride out to New Hope Pa and posted a 15 min video of the ride up along the river into town. Great little shops and very scenic with many places to eat along the river.

Looking to replace my very worn out first generation HJC Sy-Maxx. After plenty of research i have come to the decision to get a Bell Revolver Evo particularly the Optimus Hi-Viz Model. I thought i would be happy with the Scorpion EXO CT220 3/4 helmet that I just bought but I really hate it. I realize that i like the modular for being the best of both worlds. Anyone have experience with the Bell Revolver? Also my head measures 22 3/4" which is the high side of medium and low side of large, what size should i get? My must have in a helmet list includes: Hi-Viz paint, Modular, enough mounting point on chin bar for my gopro, comfy enough for 2+ hours at a time, chin curtain to help control the neck beard some, and Transition face shield. My J&M headset isn't a must but i would like that or a bluetooth communication system to be compatible. This helmet seems to meet all of this and the great $200 price point. Anyone want to put there 2 cents in? Thanks guys and gals you all and this forum have been a great guidance.

Well the wife went to do something good for others by attending a charity event and was surprised herself. Part of the donation package they gave you tickets and you got to drop them into containers for each gift. There was all kind of trips, gift cards, furniture, and wouldn't you know it she won me a new GoPro Hero 3+ Silver Edition. Looking forward to the video quality compared to my older model and the fact that I will be getting the sena setup in the future. Just wanted to thank you guys for subscribing and hope to get some good quality entertainment up there.

antenna question
Great adVENTURE replied to Sideoftheroad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just to update my antennas were on the wrong mounts. Switched the whips and no it looks like every other Venture out there Havent noticed any difference in the am/fm or cb receive but if it will keep me from toasting the finals in the cb when transmitting I'm happier for it. -
antenna question
Great adVENTURE replied to Sideoftheroad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I got some time tomorrow so i will look into this. The only reason its concerning me is i never made contact with my CB yet and AM/FM isnt the best reception wise. I have been using the AUX input more because of this. Who knows, we will see tomorrow. Thanks -
Tried feeding audio from the factory system thru my gopro hero2 and not thrilled with the sound. Anyone try to record audio with a half or 3/4 helmet on with any success?

If this bike is available still I live in central jersey and would very well be able to participate in a relay if the logistics could be worked out. -

antenna question
Great adVENTURE replied to Sideoftheroad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Im concerned now... My antennas are what I'm assuming backwards. The am/fm whip is on the left and the cb whip is on the right. Should I just switch the whips from side to side or actually trace the coax back to see where they go? And if i trace them back will it be obvious which is the cb connector and which is the am/fm connector? Was really starting to wonder when every picture I see had them opposite from what I have on my bike. Previous owner must not have noticed or gave a damn, probably why I got the bike so cheap -

Hey guys and gals... I have been out of work for whats going on 4 weeks now for mechanical failure to my truck. So to keep from going crazy I started taking video of some rides and thought i would start up a channel on youtube. This is an amateur production but i have a cool setup in the works. I will be using a GoPro Hero2 on a Ram tough clamp mount to position the camera in various location. I bought a cable that plugs in to my 5 pin bike audio system that will then allow me to plug into the camera so what i hear you hear, what i say you hear. Using my iPhone i will have a selfie cam synced up for when I'm talking and soon will have a POV camera on my helmet. All this will be edited together to hopefully create an entertaining 7-10 minute video library of various locations around New Jersey. Thanks for the support

The wifey and I went to grab some ice cream last night. While enjoying my small soft vanilla with peanut butter sauce and her chocolate banana shake we heard this rumble coming down leonardville rd in Belford, NJ. We looked up and behold, a black Yamaha venture cruising by us. Are bike was blocked by a large SUV so the fellow venture rider couldn't see us but we waved anyway. We don't see to many ventures around here so we get exited every time we see one. I checked out the member map and New Jersey needs more Ventures. Waiving four figures and a thumb your way mister Venture rider

ROAD TRIP! Highlands NJ ---> Snellville GA
Great adVENTURE replied to Great adVENTURE's topic in Watering Hole
Update: Day one was a learning experience. Left at 7am Sunday morning with the intention of riding no more than 500 miles. I acheived that goal by 6pm with 3 fill ups and a short lunch. Felt like I had more in me and the bike was treating me great so I pushed on. Glad to say after a few more fill ups and 5 1/2 hours later I arrived at my destination safely. I hit some light rain in Virginia and more when I arrived in Georgia but I was prepared with my west marine rain gear. So ending out day one with a short detour thru Bristol Tennessee I managed to pull off 16 1/2 hours and 925 miles. Day two was a well needed muscle recovery day. I woke up stiff and sore but nothing a few Tylenol couldnt ease. Got breakfast, lunch, dinner with family, and did some shopping in between. Looking back now I would split the mileage between the two days and not have ridden at night, pretty scary watching head lights bear down on you then change lanes what seems like the last minute to pass. Well going to hit the streets around noon tomorrow and don't know which way I'm going yet. -

Packed clothes, few tools and small lithium jump pack, iPhone mounted and audio fed into sound system via AUX input, topped off the fuel tank, checked my routing options, I think I'm ready to go. Going to route my return trip so i can ride the Tail of the Dragon -
Well I decided I'm doing it... I will be traveling solo from Sunday July 12th to Sunday July 19th. All I have planned is the starting point and destination so some suggestions of cool places to stop or ride thru would be appreciated. If anyone wants to meet grab a coffee or heck maybe tag along I'm all for it. My Goal is to take some well deserved time off, unfortunately the wife can't make this trip so going to mark the states off the map alone. Also any "wish I would have or wouldn't have done" might be helpful.

Sat radio antenna question
Great adVENTURE replied to ReinyRooster's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I have the portable Sirius satellite reciever with the built in antenna and multiple docking stations similar to the picture attached. I can move it from bike to car, then even carry it and use it with a pair of ear buds. Its got a great screen and very easy to navigate while riding, records like my dvr at home if there is a talk show i don't want to miss, and can set alerts to my favorite songs.
