  1. Gotta have more than that. Gotta take the handle bars off, remove the calibers, loosen the axle clamp and remove the axle.
  2. If I had a leak in that area, I would use some Permatex gasket sealer on both sides on the gasket in that area.
  3. I told you I was confused. I guess I've never looked at my cover close enough. I don't remember it being cut away, but it seems it would have to be.
  4. Dingy, Now I am confused (happens every day). Your top picture show the bottom boss to be complete, like mine is. The bottom picture shows the upper half of the boss missing. Looks like that would be more apt to leak. Now I'm wondering how the oil drains when you take the screw out if the boss isn't cut away.
  5. 1. It is too tight. 2. The lower bearing is rusted and needs to replaced. 3. Lack of lubrication has caused a wear spot in the races which results in a notched feeling when you turn the handlebars. Bearings need to be replace. I would plan on replacing the bearings.
  6. One of my friends works at City Blueprint. If you want, I could check with her on a price, if they can do color. Or some body could check around for a better price.
  7. Under the seat is were I installed four relays to operate my trailer lights on their own fuse. I did that to protect the computer from a short in the trailer lights (which has never happened). It's easy to dig out the five needed wires in that location.
  8. I have found that if you are passing the cops, you are going way too fast.
  9. I would certainly do it myself. I think you could move the tire enough to get the new stem in. I've done it on car tires. But then, I change my own tires so I have the tools to do it with. Depends on your ability's and how you like supporting the stealership.
  10. Looks good. I used four of the same LED light strips in the lower light bar also. I didn't dim them as I didn't think I needed brake lights that low. I plan on using yellow LED light strips for the turn signals. I used RTV instead of hot glue to secure the lens as I may want to tinker with it.
  11. If the screw is that soft, I would just drill the head off and keep going until I could get the tank off.
  12. I don't know how many miles you have on your bike, But the first thing I would do is check valve clearances. Unless you have a ton of miles, you probably don't need to change shims. And if you do, a tool is required. If you get shims, you need to get the tool to change them with. I've got over 75k on my bike and have never needed to change shims. I did have a couple that were on the edge of needing changed a couple of years ago. I plan to do that this winter.
  13. Especially if you like being wet all over. Frogg Togg will keep the sprinkles off, but they don't handle real rain very well. Gold Wing friends swear by them, but when riding in the rain all day, they're wetter than we are.
  14. And why would you want that noisy cheeeep clutch????
  15. I thought you guys were full of chit, so I went out and checked. My bike, on the one cap I checked has 11k resistance. Having said that, my bike has always had DPREA-9 resistor plugs in it. Thats what came in it and that's the second set is that's in it now. I have never had a starting problem. I'm surprised somebody hasn't recommended Sea Foam and a carb sync. That seems to be the cure all here for everything from flat tires to a dirty windshield. Bike won't start, sync the carbs, back fires, sync the carbs. Got a miss at 140 mph, put some Sea Foam in it and sync the carbs. LOL:hurts:
  16. If you're going on a long trip, the fail-safe mode will use more gas than the price of the O2 sensor. BTDT. If it was a temp fault, the light will reset after a certain number of starts.
  17. Not true. Blow the fuse, you don't get a light. One way to turn the headlight off is to push the starter switch. I've had trouble with the switch sticking in. Ridden to work that way, 15 miles, doesn't seem to hurt anything. Any way, it's doable, but why.
  18. I don't know how many miles you have on your bike, but I seriously doubt if you will ever wear out your rotors. I haven't and I have pulled a heavy trailer many a mile.
  19. That is what is now called a Presidential Solution.
  20. Skydoc 17 While you have that apart, be sure to replace all the bushings in the linkage and install the gease zerks. Then you can grease it anytime you want.
  21. I had that happen to me. I had to cut the brake caliper mount to get the axle out. I discovered the holes in the wheel, where the drive pins go, are open the the inside of the wheel. If you wash the wheel when changing tires, as I had done, you will get water inside the wheel. The water will end up on the back side the the needle bearing. Bad for the bearing.
  22. And proving the filter caused the problem would cost more than the new engine.
  23. Me thinks you're right.
  24. You have to use a photo editing software to merge the two pictures. If I remember right the Canadian map needs to be stretched to fit right.
  25. Day um, now I've got another project that needs to be done this winter. Bt the way, good job.
