The models with Z in the number are not compatible. Only the ones with cbus work. I also have gone from the 6 CD changer to MP3 player. Like it much better and it takes up almost no room.

I too have been injured in a accident caused by another. She wasn't issued a ticket because the Highway Patrolmen said it was a bad spot. Her insurance company did pay because she didn't allow me my whole half of the road. I don't agree with extreme penalties for an accident. I do agree with trying to educate car drivers to be more aware of motorcycles but I would hate to see a young persons life ruined because of a mistake that almost all of us could have made when we were young. Now somebody that just keeps on being stupid like the politician from South Dakota should have the book thrown at them. I also feel that somebody that choses to drink and drive should be severely punished.

I have both and my enclosed is a 6'x 10'. I don't think I could get 2 RSVs in there.

You can put the old ebay motors on by clicking a link. I don't know when it showed up but I changed back today. The new ebay motors sucked.

These cameras are operated by private companies and they have been caught cutting the caution time to generate more money. Its been a while since I read about it but I think it was a suburb of St. louis.

I did mine a couple of months ago. I used a mityvac. I had to give the clutch lever a little pull to get the fluid to flowing.

Thats a little upsetting. Same year as mine and a lot less miles. I paid 15300 new and it is worth less than 9000 now. Quess I will just have to ride it until its wore out.

If the nut in Kirkwood didn't have a gun he could have bought fertilizer and diesel fuel and blowed up the whole court house. Then there would have been a lot more dead. The way it was he knew after he got the cops there wouldn't be anybody else to stop him because you can't legally carry into a courthouse. All the signs in the world saying guns aren't allowed only affect the people that avoid breaking laws. They do not and never will stop law breakers.

Cheap digital voltmeter
midnightventure replied to midnightventure's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
Voltage not running with no passing lights or heated clothing.12.5v Voltage running with no passing lights or heated clothing.13.7v Running with passing lights.13.5v Running with passing lights and heated vest 13.2v and then the voltage kept slowly dropping. Within 10 miles it was down to 12.2 v so I started turning the vest off some. The battery has never gone dead except for when the original was almost 5 years old. 3-16-08 I disconnected the carb heaters yesterday. Today I went for a 220 mile ride and ran the electric cloths all the way. Stayed at 13.4 to 13.6 volts all day. -
If the temp is above 38 and its going to warm up I will ride to work. A just for fun ride needs to be above 40. A salty road draws moisture and can be slick. My bike has some salt on it now, guess I need to wash it instead of ride the next nice day.

I had a lady turn left in front of me 3 years ago. I had very little time. I had both brakes on and was sliding straight and true until I tried to go to the outside of the lane. Then I went down. I never realized I was sliding. When I went back after I got out of the hospital and looked I had been skiddingfor quite a ways. About a year later I had another van pull out in front of me. Again I applied both brakes hard and I heard a noise that did not sound like skidding but it was because I started going sideways. I got off the brakes and went into the fast lane, the van stopped and i made it through with just a bad scare. Afterwards I realized that I had heard the same sound in my accident and never recognized it for skidding. It does not sound the same as sliding in a car.

I was wondering around Wal-Mart today looking at clearance items. They had a Minnkota digital battery gauge for $9.00. It was designed to touch one probe to the hot and one to the ground to test a battery. I opened it up and soldered a red and a black wire into the right places, hooked it up to that worthless outlet under the seat and velcroed it to the tank bib. I now have a digital voltmeter with LED lights for $9.00. I had been wanting one so I could tell if I was overloading the system when I was using my electric vest and gloves with the passing lights but I didn't want to spend as much as a system like the Kuryakin costs. The Minnkota was built to monitor a trolling motor.

Pricing would be the big thing for me too.

I just recieved a Tomtom one. The cheapest Ram-Mount I have found is $39.95 with shipping. Anybody know of anything cheaper?

Some people say why do you need a gun, I never have. I say that 99% of people are good people and the more guns we have in their hands the better off we all are. I just happen to work in a factory that there was a mass murder in and I know some of the survivors wished that they had a gun when it happened. It happened on a different shift from mine so I wasn't there. Very traumatic for everybody but especially the people that were there. In the shooting that happened at the big Colorado church a while back the media called the woman that stopped it a volunteer security guard. What do you want to bet that she was somebody that happened to be carrying at the right time and place?

Here is a PDF file that shows the pinouts.

You can go here to view a service manual. The bike is old enough to need the clutch bled even if that isn't the problem. http://labs.trunkful.com/LIT-11616-12-60.pdf

With the back wheel about 1 1/2" off the ground it feels about like having a bike on a center stand.

Thats an interesting question. I use it to stand the motorcycle up to check the oil and change the oil. I jack it up high enough to spin the tires and check air pressure but I never have took it to the highest level since I have a regular jack for that. I had it under the bike earlier today changing the oil and I wish I had jacked it up all the way to see but I didn't. Sorry.

I went to the junk yard and got two identical screw jacks and welded them together end to end. The jacks where pretty reasonable. Here are pictures with some measurments.

I just put in the new speakers. Nothing else.

I took my son for his first ride when he turned two. He loved it so much that I took my daughter when she turned one. I had a Kawasaki 440 and their Mom worked nights. We would all three sometimes ride together. On long rides my son sat in front of me and would fall asleep. The kids are now 28 and 25. If had to do it now I would probably rethink it. With age comes wisdom.

I have ridden a couple of hundred miles with the Polk speakers now. They are definitely better than the stock Clarions. I have to turn the volume a little higher to get the same volume.

I use a tiny RCA player. It has a strap for my upper arm. I hook that around the right side mirror and brake master cylinder. It takes a SD card and with a 1GB card it holds over 100 songs. That was a big card when I got it a few years ago.
