I haven't been through it but I have a friend that has. We are older basketball players and it used to hit him while we were playing. He had the ablation thing after he was in his sixties and if I remember right he is 69 now and still able to play hard. Never has an episode any more. If I remember right he did have to start taking some kind of drug to get to feeling just right. I do know that he is glad he had it done.

OEM 236.00 http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/2007/ROYAL+STAR+VENTURE+-+XVZ13TFW/GENERATOR/parts.html I have bought a radiator and stator from them. Not superfast but it gets here and is reasonably priced.

I am betting that when any Japanese bikes speedo says 135 it is doing less than 120. The faster they go the further off their speedo is in my experience.

I am surprised it wasn't worse.

Although this sounded suspicious to me as soon as I read it, Snopes is not totally trustworthy either. They have a liberal bent.

No, he isn't retired. He just looks for any excuse to ride. His home and business are a couple of miles down gravel. He has a sign business and he is just as likely to hook a trailer to the bike and haul a sign for installation.

I used to ride with a friend that has a 2001 Electra Glide Standard. One of the first long trips we took together we both filled up at the same time twice in a row. It was amazing how close to the same mileage we got. Best I remember it was between 35 and 40. He got to fooling around with his single carb and ended up putting a jet in from a Sportster carb and got about 50 mpg. He was more interested in mileage than performance although it performed pretty well too. My bike was a year newer and he always seemed to put twice as many miles a year on as I did. I now have a little over 100,000 and the last I heard he had about 220,000.

My son is coming home from China for three weeks in July for his sisters wedding. While he is home he needs to get his passport renewed. I would like to find an expediting agency that is fast and efficient and not a scam. Does anybody have experience with this and have a business they can recommend?

Had REAL BBQ for the first time this weekend!

This could lead to some arguments as bad as politics, religion, tires and oil. Since he lives in NE I thought he might have made a trip to Kansas City. -
I used the 1800 watt laser I used to run to cut 1/4" plexiglas a few times. It did an excellent job.

Yes, If the ACLU stuck up for everybody's rights I would probably support them but all they support is left wing causes.

I ran one of those for 18 years. As I was on days I couldn't do things like that even though I saw the evidence of it being done on 2nd and third. One morning I came in and was told the guy on third shift (an old friend) wouldn't be in for a few days. A couple of days later I found out they were thinking about firing him because he had made some stainless steel mud flaps for his truck and got caught. The plant super came out and asked me what I thought would have happened if I had gotten caught doing that. I said I though I would have gotten written up and put on a step. He asked the guy on second the same question and he said he thought he would have gotten fired. They ended up firing him and as far as I know that was the last extra work that ever got done.

Open carry is legal in Mo. I have a friend who did it for years but I was never comfortable doing it. He is now in law enforcement.

How did you get Hooked - Picture of your first motorcycle?

I wish I had taken more pictures back then. Here is my first with my youngest sister who died a couple of years ago sitting on it. It was a 1974 Yamaha RD250. -

I had a quick ride today too but the scenery wasn't that good.

My router has a usb port on it that I have a 1TB hard drive connected to. We download our pictures to it and then the other copies them to their computer. At that point we have 3 copies. Use it mostly for pictures but I do have some other things on it too.

I would hook a good code scanning tool to it and see what it says. A good one can read the temperature and basically bypasses the built in gauge. My 1995 Trans Am always shows cool but when I hook up my scan tool it shows about 195 degrees like it should be. At that point I quit worrying about it. If it ever jumps up from where it normally is I will take a look at it.

Bang on the relay lightly. It might take off and run for a long time. I have a couple of old grinders that belonged to my wife's grandfather. Probably older than me. That's what I have to do to them every once in a while.

If I needed a car before I retire I would get one. Since I have 3 cars a truck and 2 motorcycles I don't think I am going to wear them all out before I am 66.

I used a Dillon RL550B for a long time. It worked well.

As heavy as the Venture is I would go with a different bike. I have ridden bikes in the snow but I wouldn't a Venture. I have ridden the Dr and a Suzuki 500 in the snow.

70 isn't a toll road anywhere in MO. When it gets to St. Louis several highways join together to cross the river but if you pay attention it isn't to bad. They have built a new bridge since I have been through so hopefully the traffic is better than it used to be. When you get to the metro area and the speed limit drops to 65 I wouldn't go more than 5 over. There are several jurisdictions that like to enhance revenue by having all their force sit on 70 pulling people over. Be careful in the actual St Louis area. There are some pissed off people there.

My current bike now has over 100,000 miles on it but I think it will go another 100,000. My tightwad nature won't let me just go buy another bike because I can. In the 12 years since I bought mine my tastes have changed and I will buy a combination of my two current bikes next. I believe a Yamaha Super Tenere could replace both of them. Especially since my wife very rarely rides with me anymore. The Venture has been a great bike though. It has had a few problems but I would not be afraid to take it on a 3000 mile trip. I am one of the few that bought the Venture MP3 player while it was available so the cassette player is a non issue.

Now you went and did it. Posted an article that promotes bikes other than cruisers to a cruiser crowd. By the way I wear a Roadcrafter a lot of the time. Most of this forum won't even know what a Roadcrafter is when they read the article.
