I went on a 300 mile dual sport ride with about 50 others Saturday. At every stop the Harley riders where friendly and asking questions about the bikes and the ride.

I have a cbus cable. I would sell it for 17.00 shipped in the US. If you want it contact me.

Take 76 east to 160. Follow 160 east to 125 south. Follow that until the road runs into the lake. Sit and wait for the free ferry. Visit with the other bikers that show up while your waiting. It really isn't that long of a wait usually. Look at your map and see how you want to go back. You can get to Hwy 7 kind of round about. 125 is Missouri's Dragon. Anywhere in Northwest Ar. is pretty.

I am not sure I can be there for the whole thing. Is there some kind of a schedule of events? I sure wouldn't want to miss the big dinner. -
I had one of those I bought at a rummage sale. When I hooked it up the needles quivered back and forth. Maybe I was missing something since I bought it used.

I replaced my radiator last fall. It only cost about 250.00 from http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-4XY-12461-00-00.html Well I see it is 310 now. It took me about 3 hours and I put a guard on that took more time than replacing the radiator.

Sometimes I don't know what I am going to do at the next intersection.

I also read that he might have not written very many of them back in the 70s.

Eldon Mo to Empire Co. 830 miles in about 13 hours. End of July, 95 degrees. I wanted to camp in the mountains. Felt like I was drunk when I got off the bike. Did 2500 miles in 5 days on that trip. The Venture was almost new then. When I got done it felt like my bike instead of a big old heavy thing.

RSTD + Windscreen + Superslab = Brutal MPG

I get better mileage 2up than by myself. That is probably because I ride safer when I have my wife with me. -

There is a big difference between running 70mph and running 60. But less than 30 on these bikes is terrible. -
I was on a poker run one day and one of the stops was at the local Yamaha dealer. They had an FZ1 and I sat on it. A salesman came over and asked me if I wanted to ride it. I wanted to real bad but all my buddies were ready to go. It amazed me that they offered a chance to ride a bike with those capabilities. I was about the only one in there though that was wearing armor.

When I sold my old 650 Maxim for 650 dollars I let somebody that had never ridden a bike ride it in a parking lot. When I sold my Sportster the man came with cash, paid for it and took his first ride when he rode off on it.

I wonder how many that have posted about stuck up Harley riders won't wave at sport bike riders? I see two different types of Harley riders. There are quite a few that just want to ride from one bar to another. Now that I think about that, I see that behavior in a lot of cruiser riders. Then there are the real riders that go on long trips and use any excuse to ride the bike. The older Harleys might not have as much power as our bike but they are easy to ride. Whats funny is that the stuck up Harley riders treat Sportster riders like Jap bike riders. When I am riding my Dual Sport the Jap cruiser riders don't wave at me either. If you want to have some fun walk into a Harley dealer in a Aerostich Roadcrafter and go sit on a Buell. They will just stare.

I suspected this but then my mercury carb stick was always having the mercury separate and I didn't totally trust it. I believe the Carbtune needs to be as perpendicular as possible.

2000 RSV started to backfire when deccelerating

Mine also quit doing that after carb synch. -
I bought an exact replacement battery for mine after it failed after 5 years. I had to put acid in it. Then you seal it up and it never has to be checked.

Bill I would like to come to your meet but I am going to do this ride http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=423092 the weekend before and I can't be gone two weekends in a row. Bill

For a bunch of supposedly nice guys there is sure some hatred here.

This sounds like somebody that would run somebody off the road.

I had a big tree fall on mine in the big ice storm and the insurance co. gave me 2000 for it. I had only paid 850 for it.

Wow. The wind has been blowing here but not like that.

40 trillion dollars is a little steep.

Just think about if you had something to sell and wanted to get what it was worth and there was a conspiracy to keep it from bringing fair market value. I think if you watch stuff on ebay you get pretty good idea of what it is actually worth. Now if a couple of extra wheels for a DR650 come up don't nobody be bidding against me. I don't want to have to take perfectly good tires off rims anymore just to switch from highway tread to knobbies.

I am kind of curious what year it was. I rode to Duluth MN last summer with a friend who was riding a 2001 Electra Glide with 130000 miles on it. My Venture had about 63000 miles and I was worried about him having problems. Turned out I sprung a leak in my radiator and he never had a problem. He just won a local contest for riding the most miles through the winter months. He did over 5000 miles and he lives 2 miles down a gravel road. He said the only bad part was he tended to leave his mid 70s Harley home because he wanted to rack up the miles on the one that was registered.
