  2. Naaaaaaaaa I have been married 33 years.... they got lots and lots of forgivenesess....... they just don't admitt it.
  3. @SilvrT, Lori and I will be in Winterpeg in a couple weeks if you need a test pilot
  4. although the dash under the windscreen is a very good idea I would also ad the raised plastic area around the fuel cap would also do as a good spot IMO. I think it would show up well.
  5. Yup if we is normal....... the rest of world is in pretty bag shape. No it is not a typo.
  6. Yup prednesone will get ya feelin better... just don't over do it...you think you are Superman but you aint. Keep the good news coming.
  7. the words...... hold my beer and watch this seem to come to mind
  8. Yes @divey it was actuality on the books for a few months in BC because of the wording of the regulation that all motor vehicles traveling certain portions of highways prone to ice and snow are required to use winter tread tires or carry chains during winter months. It has now been added that motorcycles are excluded from this. And yes the RCMP on the "Sea to Sky" highway to Whistler did issue tickets for it to motorcycles.
  9. It was a good ride, glad to see @Sailor today. I did get to take our transportation minister out for a ride on my Venture around the water front.
  10. I met Lin and Pauline at the last Venture West and long before I knew of the help they had given to @MikeWa I knew these were two of the kindest people a person would ever hope to meet in life. My thoughts are with Lin in this difficult time and will also be helping the best I can.
  11. That was the first video they showed us when I took an "experienced rider course" a few years back. Teaches you how easy it is to be blinded by the surroundings.
  12. Well I guess the first thing to say is Happy Birthday Puc. I could tell you were not well as soon as I saw how short your post was. As others have said... listen to the doctors but I will add... listen to Tippy as well. One thing to p!ss off the doctors you only see them for an hour at a time....Tippy you are living with. I have long preached the live today motto, although you have a few years on me, I try to enjoy it the best way Lori and I can. I have been blessed with 7 older brothers to see how NOT to live life. I have seen the guys that say.... Ya just going to work another year to get a few extra $$ in the bank you know before the wife and I head off travelling. It seldom works out well. Enjoy every day like it could be your last. You have been very lucky to have experienced all the fun times you have had. I pray you double it all in the years to follow. Get well and hope to see you again at a Venture gathering.
  13. Please consider this when purchasing and choosing a helmet: http://www.cdc.gov/motorvehiclesafety/images/motorcycle/impact_helmet_400w.jpg Distribution of impact locations on motorcycle helmets, all collisions, based on a study by Dietmar Otte.29
  14. I love the Baggershield for exactly this!
  15. I also can feel the tires if they are 2 or more psi low. If the Venture has been parked for a couple weeks, I ride the V-Strom to and from work more than the Venture, I can feel the tires are low as soon as I get on the road. I guess part of that may be the big difference in the two bikes showing through.
  16. make it your own ..... good on ya
  17. rear wheel been off????? .... drive shaft not engaged Is the only thing that comes to mind if " felt the engine and bike engage "
  18. I have always said that hospitals are a great place... except all the sick people there. Will someone close by Owl please buy him a new, very good set, of jumper cables. Very happy to hear you are back on the correct road to recovery. Hope it all keeps going well. Listen to the Doctors and most importantly to the Wife.
  19. Yup..... what Brian said..... ride it and put some fresh fuel and Seafoam into it and ride it some more
  20. Yea we pay about $35 a year for our plate and decal...... but I pay $102 a month to go with it for insurance. Up from $92 last year.
  21. I have checked the valves on the two Ventures I have had, both used bikes, the 86 I bought in 2007, unknown actual mileage, no adjustments made. The 02 had nearly 30,000 miles on it, checked them at closer to 40,000, no adjustments required. Not sure how often we are supposed to check them but it is a lot of work for no adjustments.
  22. My thoughts are with you and your family. I lost my oldest sister in the same fashion, she lost her husband to cancer then a couple years later it got her. Very sad, be strong
  23. WOW I knew from reading in the past it was a SOB to get to but that looks like no fun.... is there a recommended time frame to change that sucker? Thanks @djh3
