I have told the story a few times over the years....... I met a girl at work, she was my supervisor at the time. We dated some, I was driving a VW Beetle and once told her I was thinking of selling it. She asked what I would replace it with.... I told her a motorcycle or a van I was not sure. After some time gone by she ended up in a car accident and ended up with a settlement. One day I was working a renovation job and one of the guys told me my GF was out back to see me......... she showed up on a brand new Honda 400A. She had never drive a standard so bought the Automatic. She handed me a helmet and gloves and a set of keys.... including the keys to her apartment. I married her 33 yrs ago.

It is easy enough if you have the pump with you and the 5 minutes to do it. 1700 bicycles behind me at the start line.... no time or place to start the job.

Well I set it all up hard. Took the bike to the event and found know body had been able to come up with a helmet that would fit this guys head. So I was left to patrol the 145 kilometers of the cycling course with no passenger. Rough bumpy country roads that I never knew existed and my suspention was solid. It was a good ride..... 5 hours..... some of the hills are at walking pace some are at 80 kmh (50mph). It was a blast but a long day.

Seems that maybe Soda is a minority opinion...... in Canada I do believe the term Pop is more common but was not able to locate statistics on that. http://popvssoda.com/ I hate hearing a journalist say...... at 3AM this morning....... when would 3AM be this afternoon..... NEVER. It should be at 3 am today dang it.

I hope some others out there can help with load pressures. I volunteered to be Moto support for a local cycling event covering our region with our local Tour de France participant Ryder Hesjedal. I know first mistake was to volunteer but that is what I do as a hobby. SO....... I ended up because I have the "Big Bike" taking a photographer with me..... Ok I say, had many passengers along the way. Well the photographer is 270 pounds.... add a couple for his gear, so what. Tire and suspension pressures ....... Max them all ???? I am 205 myself. I can never remember what shock and fork pressure max is. And I know.... stop volunteering Thanks all

But my 86 did not have the tab.... not a great photo but zoom in and no tab on it.

I had a Honda 400 automatic in 1979 and it was fun. Don't know about the new ones.

My brother had Metzlers on his BMW, German I would think, they went for a crap in no time. I had Metzlers on my 1st Gen and loved them, no issues. Never looked to see where they were made.

I never took them off my 86 at any time. Took a cola or water in them when on long rides. They would get warm if parked in sun but take a drink from the fridge and it would be good to drink most of the day.

@GeorgeS I was touring Washington State in early May and I had not packed my electric vest..... yup it was cool. I thought you had bailed on us so it is great to hear you will be joining us for V W in Yreka. Myself and @Oldseadog will be heading down the Coast 101 from Victoria/Port Angeles on Monday of next week and on Tuesday @SilvrT will be heading down from Vancouver BC not sure if he will I-5 it or not but I think that is his plan. If you want to jump in someplace give us a shout.
