Two jobs is enough thank you..... just dropped $600 for a used transmission for other sons van. I have no idea what that will cost me before it is out of my driveway.
Lori and I may just run away from home.... it will be cheaper.
I am not a fan of the modulating head light but I found info for you en-route to finding info for me. I had been searching for a way to make the turn signals on my V-Strom into riding lights. I recently had a problem with my headlight going failing to come on and I realized that unlike the Venture I had no small lights either.
This site has a number of Motorcycle electronics. I did check the site and they do sell a unit for the Venture.
One of the big things I found was that the units are made in USA.
I hope you find the info you are looking for here....http://kisantech.com/mag/index.php/
Jon is second from right.... his hair much longer now and also in dreadlocks..... it pays the bills I guess...... he plays steel string acoustic guitar and back up vocals
I did this often when my son was cycling across Canada. It gave me a view of what lay ahead for him the next day so when we spoke with him at night I could explain what was ahead. As well as the terrain I could tell him what condition the road looked to be in and whether or not there would be good shoulder area for him to ride in.
It is kinda neat.
Yes the ABS Cement plumbers use is made to cement ABS together. Use it sparingly and wipe excess off quickly. It will dissolve paint very very quickly.
I have been told by a friend who had spent 20 some years as a Dodge mechanic that upper and lower ball joints can be very difficult to assess correctly. Most mechanics put the truck on the rack then shake the wheels. Is the movement they feel too much? Well in this world of liability yup.... put in new ones or we could get sued if something should happen. When I was going to buy my Jimmy... used.... I took it to the mechanic the company I worked for used to service the fleet. They told me it needed uppers and it would cost so much.... I took that off the purchase price when I bought it. A few months later I took it to our neighbourhood service center.... they said the ball joints were all good. 50,000 miles later no issues with ball joints still.
Take it to another shop and have it re-assessed.... maybe it does need new ball joints. I believe shocks can also cause tire cupping.
Yup 8o Kmh is just 4th gear.... way too slow for 5th gear. These bikes want revs. You are lugging the engine and that will be the noise.
What oil..... well there is an argument that has been going for years and will likely continue for more.
My motorcycle mechanic says not to use synthetic oil in our bikes, mainly due to the clutch style..... I am not a mechanic.....he says dyno oil or semi synthetic.
In reality the Smart Car is about 2 inches larger in length than a 2nd Gen. I have done this battle with a
group of locals that felt I should share a micro car parking spot with another motorcycle. Sorry but it is only large enough for mine.
I think everyone has missed a very important solution. She could get her own bike. Many bike manufacturers are selling bikes for the shorter female customers. I think you should look at that option.
I had been told a number of times that the engine in the 1300 Ventures was a "de-tuned" Max engine.
Seems logical... they look the same from the outside.
So if that is true then why is a Vmax a 1200 cc and not a 1300 also. Is it due to to the different heads?
Just wonder why.
I add this to the things you should not do..... and welding it is even worse. Just a gas fitter talking.
If you are doping it and tightening it as much as you indicate, my bet is that the threaded fitting has a crack in it.... likely caused by over tightening or physical impact damage.
If you can hand thread a clean pipe fitting into it and it will not seal when you put a wrench on it it likely has bigger issues
just being me
yup.... it does not matter what tire you run,,,,IMO.... if it is under inflated it will cup or crack or fail in some way. Start at Max Air and drop it a couple pounds when alone.
Just me being me.
The only questions I have are.... how is it plugged in?
Is it hard wired? Plugged into a recepticle? Use an extention cord? Amprage of recepticle adiquit?
I took reflector off my 86 with heat gun from the inside of the trunk. Like I heated the PVC of the trunk and slowly peeled the 2sided tape off. Slow and easy. There were no screws.
I purchased an OEM Yamaha reflector but there were none in Canada but one was located in California. This was 5 yrs back now.
