  1. Someone had to say it! :mo money:
  2. Fantastic transformation Tom, great work it does look many years newer than the original pictures.
  3. DragonRider, I would like to thank you for all you do for St. Jude. We live a long way apart but what you do is now helping a family from our community here in Victoria BC Canada. Little Baby Molly Campbell is in St Jude from here in Victoria at JUST 2 years of age fighting a second time for her life battling cancer and St. Jude is her only and last hope. Thank you for what you do and for helping Baby Molly and her family in their hour of need. Kevin

  5. sorry to hear you guys are in the dark..... Bright sunny day on the west coast, went for a nice run this morning before I rode my m/c to work this evening.
  6. RR, I had to pick my big Brother up from the ER last summer after he took "a minor fall" in his words... imagine a 300+ lb man on a 500cc Suzuki (stupid to start) doing 40 mph hitting the ground. He had full face helmet... destroyed and ground down.... Joe Rocket jacket worn though the elbows and the back, holes in HIS elbows to the bone, knees through his jeans the same as elbows, his BMW duel sport riding boots wore the metal slider pads and most of the buckles off. That is just at 40 mph! AGATT..... yup it is a personal choice.... every time I think about getting on one of the bikes in Jeans I think of big brother in the ER, closest I have been to throwing up in a long time ..... my choice.
  7. If the trunk is in use when we are traveling we used to use them, our new helmets do not have D rings so now I keep a good adjustable cable lock with me to put through the face and lock the helmets and/or our jackets to the bike. As a lock smith put it too me not too long ago.... locks only keep the honest honest. If they are out to steal they will steal. If they cut the strap the helmet will be useless so they are likely doing to be that which was mentioned earlier.
  8. I like the idea of the "fancy V" someone here long ago told us what font name made that fancy V but I do not recall it. And I am also supporting the notion that all Ventures are not Royales' and many are 1300s as was clarified earlier. But and awesome starting point, I am sure there has been much work put into it and it is great you are doing this..... yes I will take a few when they are done.
  9. If I am going to ride all the way down there it will not be just for one day so I will be around checking the sights out so join me or show me some of them if another day is better with you, I will drink Starbucks in any country with anyone anytime I can. I spent a week end with my wife in Seattle a couple weeks ago and loved it... cannot wait to see more of the area. ooh and I hope know-one will be too upset if I show up on my V-Strom not my Venture.
  10. What about your insurance companies? What do they say or do they have a say... insuring a person that wears a helmet and a person that does not cannot be the same liability in my eyes. Yes helmets are mandatory here, and our government is our insurance company as well for the most part. If I crash my motorcycle and end up in hospital for days... weeks... months I do not get a bill to pay when I leave. I may not have a motorcycle anymore depending on "fault" I may or may not receive personal injury payout again due to fault, but I do not have to sell my first born and the house we live in to pay the bill because they say wear a helmet and I did. Just wonder about the States and insurance.
  11. Only thought... other than thank you..... is can we get a members name put on the picture when it is showing.... maybe even a location if they would provide one. I love the screen saver Don shared earlier but I have no idea who anyone is in the pics or where they are.
  12. Thanks Don that is Fantastic! Yes GAWildKat it would be fantastic to have a new version as well! It would be great to get pictures of members and their bikes that we don't all get to meet to display and put some faces to the names for us long distant folks.
  13. Never seen that....... did you win
  14. If you can make it as late as mid April... after the 14th I can be there 90% chance.
  15. Clive when you are finished with yours and have learned all the things not to do, I have a new stator in the mail headed for my 86.
  16. Heal fast my good man and all the best to you.
  17. How do you break an ice cream machine ? I think this question needs to be directed at BIG TOM ! Over use maybe, I guess. I do recall the same problem up here with McDs, I am allergic to milk products now so have not tried in a few years, but recall going to get ice cream for the kids when they were small, 50/50 at best. :stickpoke::stickpoke:
  18. Naked pictures are always best..... now they are going to be spread all over the internet with old men drooling over them!
  19. Oooh a pipe hanger...... Been in piping trades 30 years, you had me.
  20. ...... and we have not had a flake of snow here yet !
  21. You gotta love this place ! to all.
  22. confusion here???????
  23. I agree that plugs should be used only in emergency just as liquids should be used just and only as an emergency repair to safely get you to home or a shop for proper repairs.
  24. Well Mt Washington Ski Resort has more than most Ski areas in Canada but that is about an 8hr round trip to get some. I think Big Tom has all of that he really needs for this winter, I will work on the I C.
