  1. no a battery tender will not charge a "dead" battery.
  2. Would like to join you on a ride but my new tires will not be in until next week. I ordered the Venom's, and I cannot afford the ferry ride over now I have a new bike.
  3. No it's not we are keeping here so I can ride my new bike!
  4. Now you guys start telling me this.................
  5. I am sure the shriner horn would have looked much better on Pumk'n Rick.... I had two people ask me about it before I got home, that was two too many.
  6. The flag and all the other stupid crap the old boy had on it are gone. I do not like things like stickers on my bikes, although I did leave the small Canadian flag sticker on the rear fender. For dress up I would really like it if everyone would send me the links to the toys and dress ups they like. I need an LED tail light strip under the trunk, gotta look at a new windshield, the old boy put it on a trailer and took it to California every year with a cover on it so it whipped the wind shield kinda foggy.
  7. Please be careful out there, my brother dropped his BMW and broke something in his knee last summer. The day after the Dr. told him he could ride again he took his Suzuki 500 out and crashed that very hard and is still in rehab. Please enjoy and have fun but be careful.... and make sure you tell us about the ride after.
  8. A few quick photos from the ferry line up last night.... I just got home from my Sunday 10K run so I am going to shower and go polish her up some. I got rid of the squeeky Shriner style horn off the handle bar as soon as I pulled into my garage last night.
  9. Going to put a few miles under my butt on the second gen before I make that choice.... If you ask Lori.............
  10. We got up early today, took a ferry at 9 AM over to the big city, Vancouver, met up with Rick (SilvrT) and his wife Nina. Rick helped me check out a nice 2002 Venture. So while I made the deal with PO went to the bank, insurance, registration all all the crap that could go wrong did go wrong in the process, Rick and Nina kept Lori company sitting in a coffee shop until I was officially the new owner of a very nice silver Venture. Rick showed us "the short cut" through/around the big city to the Tim Hortons....oops I mean back to the ferry for the trip back home again. Pictures tomorrow as we just got home from a long day. Thanks Rick :mo money: :mo money: :mo money:
  11. can you make them 1/2" shorter or is there a maximum...... next week I may need this info myself!
  12. it sounds like firefox clone
  13. very nice wheels. my brother thought about replacing his 01 Dodge, it is his work truck for the excavating company he owns. when he set up a new one like the original it would have cost more than his first house did. he is still driving the 01 with the cummins diesel and figured some repairs would be much cheaper than a new one.
  14. Very nicely done !
  15. When I first got my '86 I could not get it on the CS without someone helping me.... thinking crap this sucks! Then went to a charity M/C wash at a dealer, they had some sweet hard body bikini girls washing bikes. One of the girls turned and asked if my bike was getting a wash, I smiled and said yes, she grabbed the handle bar and passenger hand grip kicked the side stand up pushed the bike 10 feet over to a "wash station" put her foot on the side stand, gave it a rock back and forth and her 125 lbs plus bikini had that sucker on CS in a second! I kinda went.... ok crap now I been showed up.... hope I can get it down when she is done with it...... she saved me and brought it back to the starting point. Best $20.00 wash I ever got! I think she had do it before!
  16. Its not just me.... new kitchen floor last wednesday, new oak stair railings on monday, new counter tops coming next week. She tells the niece... yes we have discussed a bathroom reno in the basement for two years so he bought me a hand rail and flooring.... I am a plumber.... I don't want to install another basin and bath set!
  17. I just bought a set of Tecnic Gloves and they are great so far, been out in the rain and wind. Was cold this morning... just at, freezing coming home from work this morning and they feel great. similar to these: http://www.canadasmotorcycle.ca/teknic-thunder-waterproof-gloves.html
  18. One of the good things from the Island is the Coho ferry crossing to Port Angeles Wa. I have never had too much wait crossing be we will see next trip.
  19. Camos... when you give people "something" I am sure most of them don't say I am sure what they say to you is not in the Queens English! My biggest peeve is when you hear broadcasters saying.... it will be happening at 10 AM in the morning tomorrow. When else do you expect to have 10 AM tomorrow ?
  20. Like slow day at like work Dude ?
  21. like Silvr like T we like all like to like your like posts like you know
  22. Well I hope the big guy chimes in here as well....... I asked once about a "Like" button and was informed it had been thought of or tried and for what ever reason Don had decided against the "like" and recommended the use of the "thanks" button to also indicate you liked the post......so ..... Yes Rick we agree that there is no way you could have posted that much useful information on this site but... and maybe just maybe.... you posted many things that other members may have "Liked" reading......  Maybe
  23. I pay a bit over $300 a year for my 86 Venture with no collision and as a "Collector" bike. No to and from work on it permitted and I have to own another vehicle that is insured also (my SUV). Includes fire and theft.
  24. I ride year round in what is referred to as "The Pacific Northwest" It is often cold as in 35F or so and it is more often than not at this time of year wet to some extent. I do not own a pair of "winter" gloves that cost less than $100.00. I do have heated grips on my V-Strom but not on my Venture. Not a big fan of heated grips anyway, I have one pair of $100 gloves that are more like snowmobile gloves that NEVER soak through and for the most part keep my hands warm when the weather is crappy. They have to "safety" protection like knuckles or palm pads and generally are crappy to wear but they serve the purpose when weather is real bad. I keep them in glove box or under the seat in case I need them. My "GOOD" gloves are Alpine Star brand, not sure of style. They keep my hands warm on short to medium length rides but after a few highway hours I feel the cold in the fingers. But they are only good for a short time in the rain before they get soaked through and I treat them with the same Alpine Star weather proofing cream I protect my boots with. If you need good weather resistant gloves you may want to look more toward the snowmobile products that the motorcycle products. They do not offer the safety aspect of a motorcycle but will keep you warm. A fellow I know Paul "The IceMan" Mondor ( ) mostly uses snow mobile gear to survive his rides.
  25. I will post it if I find it.... if you find it please post it.... I may need it soon
