  1. I see that this system requires a bluetooth GPS if I am understanding the layout correctly. Is there a way to use our bluetooth headsets without a GPS unit. Some how I seem to recall someone with a bluetooth adapter that required no other equipment...a "dongle" maybe. I wish to hear the music and operate the CB with my Scala Rider existing head sets is what I am after.
  2. Rick do you still have the Carbon One and do you still use it on the wing?
  3. a stupid question would have to be..... is the Volt Meter dysfunctional ?
  4. I have an older C/T jack and it is ok...... am I supposed to use some form of adapter on it to keep the exhaust off the jack on the second gen? I had only used it on my old Kawi and Suzukis
  5. I love the 1st gen, it is for sure a better bike than the second gen, just needed newer more serviceability for the longer hauls, cannot get stuck out on the road with wife on back. And well, I am really not sure I want to tell anyone about me being part of this looney bin! I don't have any money left until I sell the 1st gen to buy shinny things for it.... new Avon tires next week is it for now.
  6. At this point I have to say I am out..... my 1st Gen is going up for sale soon so no more money going that way.... all spare cash to new 2nd Gen.
  7. I would also like to hear from Doug to know what he has done with the bluetooth. But that is the Venturerider way! to Doug also.
  8. no a battery tender will not charge a "dead" battery.
  9. Would like to join you on a ride but my new tires will not be in until next week. I ordered the Venom's, and I cannot afford the ferry ride over now I have a new bike.
  10. No it's not we are keeping here so I can ride my new bike!
  11. Now you guys start telling me this.................
  12. I am sure the shriner horn would have looked much better on Pumk'n Rick.... I had two people ask me about it before I got home, that was two too many.
  13. The flag and all the other stupid crap the old boy had on it are gone. I do not like things like stickers on my bikes, although I did leave the small Canadian flag sticker on the rear fender. For dress up I would really like it if everyone would send me the links to the toys and dress ups they like. I need an LED tail light strip under the trunk, gotta look at a new windshield, the old boy put it on a trailer and took it to California every year with a cover on it so it whipped the wind shield kinda foggy.
  14. Please be careful out there, my brother dropped his BMW and broke something in his knee last summer. The day after the Dr. told him he could ride again he took his Suzuki 500 out and crashed that very hard and is still in rehab. Please enjoy and have fun but be careful.... and make sure you tell us about the ride after.
  15. A few quick photos from the ferry line up last night.... I just got home from my Sunday 10K run so I am going to shower and go polish her up some. I got rid of the squeeky Shriner style horn off the handle bar as soon as I pulled into my garage last night.
  16. Going to put a few miles under my butt on the second gen before I make that choice.... If you ask Lori.............
  17. We got up early today, took a ferry at 9 AM over to the big city, Vancouver, met up with Rick (SilvrT) and his wife Nina. Rick helped me check out a nice 2002 Venture. So while I made the deal with PO went to the bank, insurance, registration all all the crap that could go wrong did go wrong in the process, Rick and Nina kept Lori company sitting in a coffee shop until I was officially the new owner of a very nice silver Venture. Rick showed us "the short cut" through/around the big city to the Tim Hortons....oops I mean back to the ferry for the trip back home again. Pictures tomorrow as we just got home from a long day. Thanks Rick :mo money: :mo money: :mo money:
  18. can you make them 1/2" shorter or is there a maximum...... next week I may need this info myself!
  19. it sounds like firefox clone
  20. very nice wheels. my brother thought about replacing his 01 Dodge, it is his work truck for the excavating company he owns. when he set up a new one like the original it would have cost more than his first house did. he is still driving the 01 with the cummins diesel and figured some repairs would be much cheaper than a new one.
  21. Very nicely done !
  22. When I first got my '86 I could not get it on the CS without someone helping me.... thinking crap this sucks! Then went to a charity M/C wash at a dealer, they had some sweet hard body bikini girls washing bikes. One of the girls turned and asked if my bike was getting a wash, I smiled and said yes, she grabbed the handle bar and passenger hand grip kicked the side stand up pushed the bike 10 feet over to a "wash station" put her foot on the side stand, gave it a rock back and forth and her 125 lbs plus bikini had that sucker on CS in a second! I kinda went.... ok crap now I been showed up.... hope I can get it down when she is done with it...... she saved me and brought it back to the starting point. Best $20.00 wash I ever got! I think she had do it before!
  23. Its not just me.... new kitchen floor last wednesday, new oak stair railings on monday, new counter tops coming next week. She tells the niece... yes we have discussed a bathroom reno in the basement for two years so he bought me a hand rail and flooring.... I am a plumber.... I don't want to install another basin and bath set!
  24. I just bought a set of Tecnic Gloves and they are great so far, been out in the rain and wind. Was cold this morning... just at, freezing coming home from work this morning and they feel great. similar to these: http://www.canadasmotorcycle.ca/teknic-thunder-waterproof-gloves.html
