Hello all, I hope I find you all well and safe. I am not around as much as I should be but I am smart enough to keep my membership up to date. I am an Essential Worker so I still need to work most days but when I am doing nothing I turn to my motorcycles. This weekend it has been my 02 RSV. So I have changed plugs and done a sync on the carbs. Now it is clutch time. I have a Barnett pressure plate I bought from one of our members here that had one they were not using. I have a gasket on order from our local shop, I prefer to buy local and support them not online. My big questions are; will the bolts on the cover usually come off without breaking? Is it as simple as removing the old pressure plate 6 bolts and simply replacing with the new unit? I don't have to remove exhaust system to remove lower bolts? Is there an "orientation" the new plate must be installed in? I don't want to have surprises of all the plates need to be removed or fall out. Emotional support requested. Thank you all. Stay safe and stay well.

This is not supposed to happen. My bikes were off the road two days last week and somehow I don't think they will be out again for this week at all. I did spend a week in Winnipeg last month so maybe I didn't clean my boots off well enough on my return and this followed me.

I think you can fix that....... Trust me I am a Power Engineer Said the night shift to the day shift as they left the building.

it is a bit later but.... it was a fantastic St.Patty day. I happen to have a son that plays Celtic music so we followed him from Pub to Pub. A dad has to give his son a plug when he can. knackersyard.net or music on Youtube and Spottify

Yes, it is funny that one dealer said I could not get a matching pair but the other dealer had no problem doing 888

No it was not popping at all. The occasional backfire from it but seldom. This guy not only I but the local riding community has confidence in and he has set it up in the past as well. I will hook up my syc on the weekend.

Took the Venture in for new set of sneakers today. Went back to Metzlers....888 this time. I had the 880s on the 86 and liked them. Avonns were good but flat center on the rear from highway riding made it difficult to do my stunt driving at low speed. All good there. Had the shop balance the carbs while it was there... it was there why not. Seems they have troubles with it as now I have continual popping sound and the big bang on deceleration. The air stuff was cap off long time ago so not that. Mechanic feels the O rings on the adjustment screws are dried out and should be replaced. I am going to order an Ivan's kit to be installed but not sure about the O rings if they will be in the kit. It was funny seeing the shop opening up VR.org to check carb sync info. Open for discussion.

2018 Goldwing and 2018 Venture are here!

Check out the BMW Grand America to compare to the Venture and the Wing. I will admit the BMW does not have any more luggage or storage than the Wing but comparing the BMW 1600 to the Venture VTwin I am not sure my next new bike will be a Venture. -
Very sad I missed that. As beautiful as it is I liked the +8c we had today. Yesterday we had Canada's hot spot at +9c. We had two days of snow, for the first time I recall, we had a White Christmas and Boxing Day but we were out riding by the 27th of December.

Cannot wait to see it all back to new. Need to do coffee.

Rear wheel down towing RSV:

I would be very worried about the mechanics of the bike as well as the damage from the road dirt and grime. The extra weight on the rear end, so much could go wrong and you will not know until you stop for gas or food. Buy or rent a trailer to take it is my vote. -

I once had to respond to a "gas smell" call at our cities only Government auto insurance claim center. I walked in the door and about got knocked over by the smell. I met with the building supervisor and a senior co-worker of mine already on site. I walked about for a bit and told the building super..... it this was my building I would get the people out of here. He said are you telling me to evacuate? I said when the media shows up I don't want you saying I told you to....... but yup. Ended up with the gas company there, local fire dept and everyone that had an appointment that afternoon freaking out. We did finally track it to a faulty gas valve in a direct fired heater. It should have by code had a second redundant valve but some how it did not and of course it was the unit 20 feet in the air above the garage entrance. Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans. -
Welcome to the site...aka The Hotel California. That bike will be one of the finest rides you will ever have. Miss my 86 every day.

I went to the Canadian equivalent Motorcycle Show we had out on the west coast here late last month. As soon as I walked into the Yamaha section with my Venturerider.org shirt I was told by the rep, who I had not even said hello to yet, No we do not know where the Venture is. He had grown up with his dad owning and still owns a Yamaha dealership so knew very well the requests for a new one.

It isn't real cold but it has been many years since we have had this much cold this long. We had snow before Christmas.... it lasted a couple hours.... we had snow after Christmas..... it last almost a whole day.... it has been bouncing up and down off the freezing mark now since mid December. We have had some beautiful days that are just a degree or two above freezing. Last night it hit nearly 40 degrees F and monsoon like rain for a couple hours before the thermometer dropped back to the freezing point and made the area into a skating rink. It has been a long time to have been cold in this city. We still ride when it is sunny and not icey. Think warm thoughts

What is the value of such a Villa? Expensive property is all subject to the property value you are accustomed to. Average home value around here is over $800K

@Sailor send me stats on the midnight if you are going to let go. I thinks it is an 05 isn't it.

The wollo bad boy comes in a nice chromed plastic and fits very nicely in the stock location on the right side. You can just ignor that one up front left after the wollo up. 100% recommend you use Carbon One mount and wiring set up. It makes it so much easier than running your own wiring up and down. I love mine.
