  1. Lori and I also celebrated 33yrs in July this year. Best to you and many more to come we hope. We like to celebrate by going to Port Angeles Washington for the day, when we head back on the ferry the fireworks are going off for the 4th celebrations.
  2. Like has been said... heart goes out to the town. They are good people there... they made all of us feel very wanted and at home in their town. I will keep looking for updates and possibly charitable assistance to the town if it gets too close. http://koin.com/2014/08/07/wildfire-balloons-to-1900-acres-600-homes-threatened/
  3. Puc normally I would have... I was headed for a ferry home and the double nickle speeds were trying to hold me back.... had the boss with me and missing the ferry was not going to cut it... I had already stopped for food and fuel that was all the break I was getting till we caught the ferry.
  4. Anyone here in Washington State that rides a first gen Trike? I was in Forks yesterday and waved at you. I was heading North and you South.
  5. the biggest thing about quitting smoking all those years back.... no note pads. We convinced the company to give us all business cards to use.... then they thought they would print what the company does on the back of them.... we all complained.
  6. It took you this long to figure out Puc is a bad influence I figured that very quickly the first day I met him..... and look out for that Tippy as well.
  7. :sign yeah that: :goodpost: :sign yeah that: or maybe
  8. It happens..... a few years back my son was training for his up coming bicycle ride across Canada. One of his training rides took him up the Island we live on about 40 miles, he thought he could hop on a ferry and ride across the inlet then back the 20 miles or so to home. He was waiting at the small ferry terminal, no staff there, chatted with a "old guy" as he put it... like maybe 50 or so..... told the fellow about his upcoming ride for a charity and stuff. The boat showed up and all 20 cars and my son with his bike go on. Staff member told my son cash or Visa card... my son only had a debit card, I think the fair is $3 for him. Fellow who he had been speaking with got out of his car and paid for him. My son being the person he is said.... can I please have your name and address to return the money to you. The man did introduce himself to my son and then said.... pay it forward. My son rode his bicycle 7000 kilometers across Canada raising money and awareness for The Brain Injury Association of Canada... upon his return he even auctioned off his bicycle and the money went to the charity.... I think he is paid up.
  9. We use the aluminium never seize on all our boiler components as e go through refit every year. It helps so much the next year when we pull it all apart.
  10. when you get that urge to twist the throttle..... be hanging on tight! That 86 will feel like you are flying when it takes off.... it is FAST
  11. They ALWAYS ask for my plate # on the way into Canada. The US never has. You must have a passport and you must have a Canadian insurance card. As long as you have no criminal record and you MUST NOT carry a weapon. No fire arms or "hunting" knives. Personal health insurance is also highly recommended. I trust this means you finally found the February bike you had been looking for. If you are at the Dakota border, Fiesman from the forum is not too far north of that. He is in Regina.
  12. I would recommend sewing the iron on one as well.... then it is transferable.
  13. I have a Venom, 150/90B15 80H on the rear of my 02 Venture. It is rated for 992 lbs @ 50 psi. I run it about 48 around town single rider. Keep it there for 2up highway and drop it a pound or two for single highway. I travel light with no trailer. So far this has worked for me. I find good low speed and highway handling. If I keep it at 48 on long rides the rear gets a little slippy cornering in warm/hot weather. Front is 150/80-16 71H rated for 42 psi I run it close to 40 all the time. So far I have about 22,000 kilometers (14,000 miles)
  14. I will check the numbers on mine when home to compare. I have 18 months of riding on mine and no wear issues.
  15. I run more than that in my rear tire...Venom.... and I am 200 lb. Max on that tire is 50 lb and if you are riding 2up with trailer you should be close to that. IMHO that is. If you run your next tire that percentage low I am sure it will fail also.
  16. It was a beautiful day for motorcycling and or skiing..... one small bit of info the narrator left out was that they were at 6,000 ft above sea level on Mt Hood to find that snow.
  17. OK nobody else asked so I guess I have to be the one..... What pressure have you been running in that Venom ?
  18. I agree with the shock and fork pressures. READ your tire to see the pressures listed on them and adjust from there. Do not put the same pressure as someone else in your tire if you have a different tire than they have.
  19. Who was that furry faced guy doing the commentating any way ? I do miss my 86.... she was pretty too.
  20. Thanks Brian, it pisses me to know end...... the only thing I dislike about traveling in the USA is having to go through the crap of getting gas. There is no reason for doing this other than big brother tracking you.
  21. Mike I am glad you are recouping well. Good to hear you have another bike set up as a replacement. What a great group we had the pleasure of meeting in The Dalles. You could not have been in better hands. Keep mending and hope you keep us informed on how you and your new bike are doing. Kevin
  22. I was so pi**ed putting mine on that there is now way in he!! I was going to break a camera over it.
  23. Interesting plan for install. 6 weeks ago I would have loved seeing this. I did mine the hard way. I used window screening behind mine, it is black nylon so will not rust, it looks good.
